Really loved our stay. The house is like a tardis inside - huge - more than enough room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers and a small dog. Everything you could need. There is a small yard rather than a garden but the front garden is also enclosed and nice to sit and watch the world go by. Owners were very helpful and responded quickly to any queries. There is a shop, a baker's and 2 pubs within a couple of minutes walk and another pub with a lovely garden in Flookburgh 1/2 a mile away. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back one day.

Our party of 4 adults 1 child and dogs found this cottage ideal as a relaxed base for enjoying the lakes. The rooms easily accommodated our various needs. tv's in downstairs rooms and each bedroom and wi-fi connection helped when we wanted our own space. Kitchen is well equipped and utility room was useful for our dogs. The bedrooms are spacious with marvellous built in wardrobes which i would have liked to have at home. A stream runs immediately along the back of the cottage and we appreciated the scene of cattle grazing in green fields on the other side of water although one of our dogs was wary of the sight of cows. One negative is that Cark like many villages in the area has narrow pavements and it was difficult to negotiate around the village with child and dogs.

Love this place, we will hopefully get to return soon. Lovely & clean, bigger than expected. Sofa's & beds super comfy. Flat screen tv in every bedroom + the lounge & sitting room. Plenty of wardrobe space. Some amazing views from the kitchen/lounge/back bedroom

We had an excellent stay, the cottage was well equipped with everything there. Good location for all surrounding areas & cartmell races. Good if you are staying with dogs as there is a big utility room for them to sleep.

The property is very spacious and has been recently renovated, we are very impressed with very aspect of the house. The location is good too with a bakery and small grocery shop just a minute from the house, we will definitely come back and stay in this house again.

This was fantastic holiday, enjoyed equally by the whole family! A truly beautiful setting and lovely accommodation. Perfect for the dog too and a great base to explore the lakes! Can't wait to go again!

Rated by Mrs Jackson reviewed on 29th January 2016

It is called a cottage but is more a house - with three double bedrooms, spacious bathroom, two lounges, utility room and large fully equipped kitchen. When I say "fully equipped" I mean it. All you need to bring is your food. The house was spotless and so comfortable. I dare not sit down on the sofa in the morning because I knew that if I did, I would not have wanted to get up again. The village has a shop within a minutes walking distance, a bakery and two pubs, The next village, Flookburgh, has a couple of shops, pubs, sandwich shop and fish and chip shop. I loved the walks in the area, and more importantly so did my dogs. A fantastic house, highly recommended.

The cottage was perfectly situated and had amazing views! It was great for a family with plenty of room to hang out or gather together. Local pub and shops were great. The cottage itself was welcoming and light, well laid out and comfortable. All my family loved it and would definitely book again.

Rated by Mrs Beach reviewed on 29th December 2014

Cottage is spotless and spacious. The bedrooms and bathroom are much bigger than they look on the photographs and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped with anything you might need and the utility room is large. The owners kindly left a box of biscuits and a bottle of wine for us and readily came out to help us sort the central heating at 10pm on our first night. The train station is 100 metres from the cottage so great for trips to Ulverston or Grange.

This was our second stay in a year in beautiful Cark. Surrounded by stunning countryside, lovely walks, a train station and peace and quiet we feel that this is a perfect base for us. Riverside View is a really nice, clean, comfortable and large house with a to die for bathroom. We loved its location especially being able to feed the ducks from the hall window and ease of parking. We particularly liked the enclosed garden with bolted gate which made it safe for our dogs to be outside without us having to keep an eye on them. We will definitely be returning to this fantastic property for our next holiday.

This cottage was much bigger than we expected and very well furnished. The bedrooms were large and there was more than ample room downstairs. Great location for touring the South Lakes region and less than 30 minutes drive to Bowness on Windermere. The local pub has a really good atmosphere with friendly staff and serves a number of real ales and good food. All in all a fantastic option with or without a pet.

This was one of the nicest holiday homes we have ever stayed in. Beautifully furnished and really spacious. The views across the countryside from the rear of the house are truly beautiful. I saw deer on several mornings. The river runs right under the windows and it was a joy to feed the ducks from the window. It is in a really good location for getting around the South Lakes. Perfect.

We are a group of friends who have been going away together for a number of years and its the first time we have booked a cottage in the Lake District. We planned an early christmas break and it was everything and more that anyone could have wanted. The cottage was fantastic, bedrooms were well furnished and really cosy, bathroom was amazing and the views from the back of the cottage just breathtaking. The owners have thought of everything you will need for self catering, you don't need to take anything. We had a wonderful time and will certainly be going back again next year. Ideal for families, friends and couples. We all liked how homely the cottage felt and we settled in right away, really relaxing and just what we needed.
