From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
After 3 days here we found a large live slug crawling on the carpet. This prompted us to make a close inspection of the property and it was filthy. Cobwebs and dead insects in almost every window, dust so thick you could write in it and dead and live insects in the bathroom and bedroom. Gross is an understatement. Would not stay here again if you paid me. Will be seeing them soon in the small claims court.
We was given 2 numbers to ring to find out we're we was to collect the key from, after a 4 hour drive we called both numbers and both went into answer phone. We arrived at a very large old house with property all over the place, we wasn't comfortable just wondering around so we sat in the car a piped the horn, still nothing thier was no one around. Although Liz the owner did apologise it still can't change our experience. The cottage itself is really lovely and very peaceful.
We found The Coach House very peaceful and listening to the birdsong was amazing.
We really liked the accommodation, it was surprisingly spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed exploring the borders, somewhere we haven't been before and we found people friendly and helpful. We actually had a lovely time and would certainly return.
We settled in very quickly and The Coach House was very clean and comfortable, furnished with traditional furniture as befits its age. The peace and quiet was idyllic and we came and went as we chose, although the owner was always on hand if we needed her. I would definitely return and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.
This property is in a very quiet location with room for children to play in safety. Location also ideal for visits as far as Edinburgh & Northumberland coast.
The Coach House is a ground floor 1 bed flat in an old coach house for a stately home demolished in the 1920s. It's a very attractive, quiet place, in a secluded part of the world. We've stayed there a couple of times for short quiet breaks, and love it. Short distance from the Lammermuir and Cheviot Hills, and also some very nice coastline and beaches. The village also has a very good pub for food. We'll definitely be back!
The Coach House is a lovely tranquil place set in a great part of the world. The property is full of character, is warm and cosy, and the owner very friendly and helpful. We are already planning a return visit!
Good location, very quiet, good places to visit within easy range. Better TV neede, with non slip mat in bath-but these are minor things-because such good place, and so well fitted out
Everything, extremely spacious in a beautiful setting. Period features in keeping with the age of the property, and very comfortable. We would definitely go back.
Beautiful quite location, perfectly placed for fishing and walking. Great, friendly and attentive owner. Will be back!
The owners of the property were very friendly and I felt at home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Coach House. There was a cake awaiting our arrival! The owners were very helpful when a small problem arose and were on to fixing it straight away. The house is in a very quiet area with lovely surroundings. The coast is not too far away with lovely beaches and walks. We loved being there and enjoying the quietness.
The owners were very friendly and we were made very welcome. The area was lovely and the setting of the cottage very quiet. The surrounding countryside is excellent and good for walking and seaside enjoyment.
The Coach house is a great place to chill out and get away from the hustle. Setting is great and peaceful and the facilities are excellent. The woodburning stove was fabulous and made for great cosy evenings. It is a good base to explore the lowlands and the beaches along the coast. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay
Felt i had been on holiday for a week when it was just the first morning. Lovely setting to sit out and have tea and toast in the morning. Owls to keep you entertained in the evening.
Lovely cottage, particularly pleased with the kitchen and much more spacious than the pictures on line suggested.
Perfect setting for a restful break. Owls and the wildlife in general meant that the TV didn't get a look in.
The area was lovely and the owners were very helpfully. No problems at all. Thank you.
