Reviews

Took my mum and 96 year old grandma to visit my sister in Pembrokeshire, this was the perfect stay. The host was lovely and had put a chair in the bathroom for my grandma and had left us some welsh cakes which we all enjoyed. The cottage was great and we enjoyed the log fire 2 nights, it had everything we needed and our stay was made perfect. Great location, lovely garden, easy to find. We would definitely stay here again when visiting my sister, thank you so much.

Lovely cottage, well equipped. Good location. Brilliant for children, there is a family area with swings, football goals and picnic tables. Plenty of games, books and dvds in the laundry for all.

We stayed here 15-22 June 2019. The Duck House is the perfect place to stay if you want to discover south west wales. Set around 15 mins drive from Haverfordwest, the Duck House is one of a collection of farm buildings belonging to Newhouse Farm. There are 3 other holiday cottages in the same location varying in sizes plus the farmhouse itself. In the Duck House, there is a large lounge dining area, 2 large settees (2 and 3 seater, the 3 seater converts to a bed), A large chair, log burning stove, TV (with HDMI input) and DVD player, lots of dvds are also available for the cottages to share (stored in a central location)& Dining table with 4 chairs. In the kitchen, there’s a fridge, microwave, built in oven electric hob, kettle, toaster and just about every cooking utensil you would need. Each bedroom (one double and one twin) has at least one wardrobe with drawers for storage. The bathroom is nicely finished with Bath/shower combo, sink, toilet and towel radiator. Each cottage kind of has its own place for 1 car (we never had difficulty finding a spot). There is also a large field to play football on and several traditional outdoor picnic tables if you wanted to spend the afternoon on the grass. About 2 miles off the main road, the road turning goes onto a single track road, so just be mindful of other cars or people walking. There is a approx 2.5 mile loop from the farm which is great for going for a run or walking the dog. Steepish incline on the way back so nice for a bit of exercise. The host was lovely, explained everything really well, but the welcome book has everything you would need to know, including lighting the log burner. The whole place was incredibly clean, the water comes from a borehole, is treated and just as good as bottled mineral water. Each cottage has free WiFi (there is a Ubiquiti Unifi access point) giving really fast WiFi throughout.

A peaceful relaxing cottage. Received a great welcome from the owners and there was fantastic attention to detail. The cottage was warm cosy and comfortable, and the quality of the bedding and towels was first class.

The Duck House was a fantastic place for my toddler to run around in and for me to not stress and worry about accidents on stairs. We had a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.

A nice cottage in a quiet location, well cared for by the helpful owners who were on-site. A convenient location for exploring Pembrokeshire.

What a find! A spacious, comfortable rental. Everything needed was provided, even a central repository of maps & local guides for loan. The cottage was warm, plenty of space and had ample comfy chairs in which to sit and relax or read (a common rental cottage failing but not here). The only bugbears were the small wall-mounted TV - a bit of a squint from the sofa - and lighting not so good for reading in the lounge, but that's nit-picking really. The kitchen was generously equipped - none of the usual 2 mugs, 4 spoons 4 plates routine which requires constant washing up. Spacious bathroom with a great over-bath shower and nice big softy towels. Outside there was lots of space with picnic tables, a BBQ and space for kids to run around. Sufficient off-road parking in the courtyard. Pleasant helpful owners on-site to sort out any problems or questions which arose. A country location on a quiet lane with almost no passing traffic but conveniently only a few minutes from the A40 and Haverfordwest so it's a good central base to explore Pembrokeshire.

This is a totally relaxing holiday with all the facilities necessary to make it carefree. Although the accommodation is very pet friendly there was absolutely no evidence of previous animals. A lovely place.
