Spent a wonderful first week of August in this spacious home from home. The setting is outstanding in its beauty. Lough Currane enchanting, with ever changing moods viewed from sun room, kitchen or bedroom. 6 adults plus pet were more than happy with how well equipped and comfortable this cottage was. The Fenton family were excellent hosts and the tray of scones and jam awaiting our arrival was most welcome. Waterville was great for good eating places and very relaxing. We would love to make a return visit. As a base for visiting the many fantastic beaches and places of outstanding beauty in the vicinity, this cottage is second to none.

I stayed here with my girlfriend and I in early October 2019. Amazing place with awesome views. Very private and a 5 minute drive to Waterville. The owners are great people. Very helpful and answer any questions you have. Can’t wait to come back. Seriously can’t recommend enough!! Thank you!!

Ansonsten alles wunderbar.

We stayed at Mr. and Mrs. Fenton’s Waterville home for 6 days. It was absolutely stunning. The house was well maintained and the view was spectacular. Mr. Fenton was so accommodating with any questions we had. If you’re traveling to the west coast of Ireland and need a vacation rental this house is for you! The pictures I’ve included don’t do the views justice.

This cottage has by now received many fantastic reports & I too can only endorse all the excellent feedback. The property is in a great location - is well maintained & Mary & John Fenton are the perfect hosts - nothing is to much trouble! The welcome of the peat fire combined with flowers on the table along with scones & jam is testament of their attention to detail! Well done to them both! We were very fortunate with the weather - wall to wall sunshine all week which enhanced an already perfect holiday in such tranquil surroundings! Once you have adjusted to the relaxed way of life here there are many places to visit along "the Wild Atlantic Way" - too much to take in in one week but just hope we can make it back in the non to distant future!

We stayed at the cottage for one week and wished it could have been for longer. Somehow, the owners had managed to ensure that when we walked through the door, we felt like the first ever visitors, which is exactly how it should be. The cottage was immaculate inside, extremely well-equipped, with a practical layout, but was homely, too. To top it off, when we arrived, there were fresh scones, milk, butter, jam, tea and coffee waiting for us, and the fire had been lit: all we had to do was unpack and relax. Believe me, we were so grateful! Plus, if we needed help with anything while we were there, the owner appeared within minutes. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone visiting County Kerry. You won't be disappointed.

Visited this cottage for a week at the beginning of October (10th) 2016. We travelled as two couples (50+) and had a lovely week. The good weather obviously helped but the cottage was very nicely equipped with good heating facilities for the cooler evenings. Really nice landlord who popped round to say hello. Scones made and ready for our arrival along with tea and coffee. The rooms are of good standard and relatively new. Would highly recommend.

There were stunning views from this well kept and designed bungalow overlooking Lough Currane. I understand it is popular and I can well understand why. A true delight. The coastline and mountains, lakes and rivers are truly beautiful.

We had a wonderful Christmas getaway in this excellent accommodation. The owners went that extra mile to make everything wonderful. What more could you ask for? We think the owners deserve a prize!

A fantastic cottage with beautiful views across Lake Currane to mountains. Located close to Waterville, and Kerry Way was on our doorstep, a perfect location to explore the Ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsula etc. Currane Cottage was superb with ample room for a family of seven. We could not have been happier with whole package and will be returning next year. What a great find and very reasonably priced.

An excellent cottage with very helpful owners. We had a few questions and the owners were so responsive! We enjoyed our week in Ireland and we felt the cottage location was perfect!

My husband and I stayed in this amazing bungalow for three nights and it was a really relaxing experience. We have stayed in many rental properties around the world and this one really exceeded all of our expectations. I can truly say that this bungalow looks even better than in the photographs and the decoration throughout is superb. The view of Lough Currane is simply wonderful - we did the 12 mile hike around it which was a great experience. There is plenty to do in this beautiful part of Ireland and then to return and light the peat burner and / or open fire was wonderful. Mary and John Fenton are excellent to deal with and very helpful. If you are wondering whether to stay here - don't. It is simply wonderful and we hope to return next year. The only tip I would give is that the bungalow is set slightly off the road, up a track which we didn't initially realise when looking for it.

We spent two weeks in Lough Currane Cottage and really enjoyed it. The views are wonderful, ever changing and always engaging. The cottage is really comfortable, we were a party of 6 adults and found we had plenty of room. The facilities were more than adequate although we felt the kitchen might have been better equipped (we had an enthusiastic cook with us!!) That aside we wholeheartedly recommend the cottage to anyone who may be looking for a tranquil, relaxing break. Oh and the scones on arrival were just fantastic.

The accommodation exceeded our expectations , it was well equipped and good furnishings . We had wondered what the bathroom /shower room would be like as there were no photos but they were excellent . The conservatory was a wonderful place to sit and admire the magnificent views and sunsets . We were enthralled with the views when we arrived as it was such a beautiful location .

A nice and quiet location. The property is very large and bright with big windows and stunning views. The owners had provided lots of very useful leaflets and brochures on the locality and places of interest. Well recommended.

Rated by AudreybDerby reviewed on 13th April 2014

This cottage is in the most fabulous site ever, the views over the lough and mountains were ever changing. Very quiet and tranquil location, but only 5minute drive or 15minute walk to the village and sea. The cottage is fully equipped for complete family living with peat fires, which were so cosy considering we were staying there in January. Getting up early and watching the hares playing in the garden was delightful. Mr & Mrs Fenton were there to help us with anything we required.

Rated by Ramona & Paul McMahon reviewed on 27th March 2014

A perfect home from home. The owner could not have been more helpful, especially in supplying fuel. Warm and cosy cottage, especially in January. View from cottage over the Lough is unbelievably outstanding and visits from a hare early every morning in the garden was charming.

It was mid November when we stayed and early evening when we arrived so the directions were good and the outside lights left on to guide us in was great. We were welcomed by a lovely fire lit in the kitchen diner (great that Turf and logs were include in the rental), scones and tea on a tray but it didn't end there...later as we put our travel weary bodies to bed there was a hidden gem... a hot water bottle fantastic! The views from the cottage are fantastic and change as the sun rises, then rests over the Lough before setting in the evening.Thank you to the owners for making our stay so comfortable and giving us the break we so much needed.

Location and view was fabulous. The sun room was excellent. Really good layout.

Rated by Mrs Schofield reviewed on 1st September 2013

On arrival there were scones, butter, jam & tea awaiting us and the stove was lit in the kitchen. The weather was excellent. This house overlooks a large lake and there are exceptional views from every front window. We were in touch with the owners before and during our trip to Waterville. Once we arrived in the house they made sure we were settled in and then the house was ours for the week. They never imposed on us and we did not meet them again until the night before we vacated the property. It was the most relaxing holiday we have had for a long time.

Rated by Mrs Caraher reviewed on 8th June 2013

Stunning location. The cottage setting really maximises the views across the lough. Real imagination shown in having the master bedroom at the front of the property with a patio door. One can sit in bed with a cuppa and drink in the view. Loved the people! Almost without exception they were friendly, welcoming, and went out of their way to be helpful.

The scenery from the cottage was breathtaking. The area was very peaceful, a good place to unwind. The owners were very hospitable and friendly.

This three bedroom home was exactly like the pictures only better .A warm, comfortable home equipped with everything needed to be make a memorable week. The owners were friendly and very helpful with our various questions an requests .The location was perfect .One km from the main road with a gem of a golf course across the street .Skellig Bay Golf Club. A great alternative to the large Waterville links course .Skellig Bay was smaller and senior friendly .Had golf carts for rent and we were able to play nine hole rounds, which in the wind and scattered showers was just enough .Personnel was extremely helpful and friendly as were the other golfers on the course. We had no trouble with the rental. Signed up online through Sykes Cottages and arrived to find the key and scones with butter and jam waiting for us ..the walk down the lake road was lovely, overlooking the lake ,farmland ,cows and cottages.. The ride into the village was easy and there were wonderful restaurants and pubs to warm us up after golf .Try the seafood chowder at Fisherman's Bar..Delicious!! ! Smugglers Inn was perfect for a gourmet dinner and views of the links course .. A trip to Valencia Island should be included in sightseeing plans .The ride up the mountain with a stop at the quarry and grotto a must. Riding the ring of Kerry is interesting as it is difficult to see the views while watching for tour buses and hiding under the dashboard ..There are well planned walking trails which would be a good alternative also pony trekking ..If you do drive take it slowly and only after you have rested from your trip a couple of days... If possible hire an automatic as it's one less thing to think about while on the other side of the road..I would suggest staying near the airport for a day or so to get used to the roads and driving conditions.. Bunratty or Adare are good areas for that .Adare if you are going south... Bunratty if heading north or west .My husband and I have traveled to Ireland many times and it never failed to be a wonderful trip .This time it was extra special because of our wonderful rental house..Hoping to go back next year.. Maybe for two weeks!!

Absolutely loved this cottage. The house matched the pictures exactly! Every room was spotless & everything that was advertised as supplied was there. We had such a relaxing & comfortable week here. The weather even managed to stay lovely for our stay so that we could soak up the magnificent views over the lake. Sunsets here are spectacular & the sunroom is perfectly positioned to get the best view. Have to say we came back feeling that we had a reall holiday, away from it all. The beaches nearby are just amazing, definintley check out Caherdaniel & the beach just beyond Daniel O' Connells House, Derrynane. We will definitely return here as it was perfect in every way. The road along by the lake from the house is perfect for a good walk/run with amazing views. The Smugglers restaurant in Waterville has some delicious food, a bit pricey but definitley worth it, try the early bird if you want to keep costs down. No Tesco/Dunnes nearby, Centra in Waterville & Supervalue in Cahersiveen @20mins drive away. So stock up in Aldi in Kilorglin or Tesco in Abbeyfeal entroute! Couldn't have found a more picture perfect place to stay with the cottage to match. A big thanks to the Fentons for providing a 10/10 service here.
