The village of Chelmorton is situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park. The village boasts a village shop and pub which serves good food. Chelmorton has a fascinating historic landscape of 'fossil' arable strips enclosed within drystone walls and the village has a lovely medieval church of St John the Baptist.

The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
Each year we book a weekend/short break for our totally spoilt border collie. Ideally we look for something in a rural location, with a pub within walking distance and somewhere to give the dog a walk before heading out to the hills. Pleased to say this fir the bill perfectly. Not much to do in Chelmorton, but some great views of the surrounding countryside and a good pub. The cottage is clean, warm and comfortable and had the added bonus of having a separate paddock area where the dog could run to her hearts content. Good sized TV and selection of DVD's, although we weren't too bothered about watching TV as shattered from days out walking. The only suggestions i would make to the owners - get the website photos updated. Your double bedroom is sooo much nicer now and ditch the picture of the half empty cupboard showing the tea/coffee/bics add more pics of the paddock area much better selling point. Thoroughly enjoyed our break away, excellent value for money and would definitely return.
A lovely comfortable cottage near all the places of interest in the Peak District, with plenty of information on things to do in the surrounding area and locally. Would stay there again & recommend to friends & family.
Dog walking facilities nearby, pub food was very good, not far away from most things but definitely need a car. Enjoyable holiday- would go back.
We like everything about this holiday. The cottage was located in a nice quite village with a very good pub 5 minutes walk away and serving excellent food. A welcome drink with the owners of the cottage on the Friday evening was very nice. And the welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee, bread and biscuits were nice also.
Excellent location. Quiet. Lots of walks from door step. Excellent pub just up the road. Will be back!
We stayed at 2 and 3 Primitive Mews, these cottages are really well located, a short drive from Bakewell and Chatsworth. The off road parking, right by the door, was really handy. The interior is really comfortable in both properties, with great amenities, the huge TV was really handy in the evenings when only a DVD would do. Plus the showers were outstanding!
A lovely, well situated cottage. Perfect for long walks. Friendly, helpful owners. Would stay there again.
Very central to places we wished to visit. Quiet friendly village very good food at local pub.
A good location, enjoyed the log burner and the barbecue in the enclosed garden.

The locality as it had a pub in the village with good food and was within close proximity to both Bakewell & Buxton and the walks we wanted to do. Fish & chip van also visited the village on a Thursday evening and they were excellent quality.
Location of cottage was ideal and the nearby owners were particularly friendly, helpful and welcoming. Village pub very friendly and food was very good.
The cottage was lovely. Nice location for dog walking yet easily accessible for amenities for my parents. It was good to have a pub close that accepts dogs. We spent a lot of time at Monsal Head which is so close and very beautiful.

Lovely cottage for a weekend away. I visited my son who is at Sheffield University. Extremely well equipped and a huge TV which was much appreciated for the rugby. We were there in extreme temperatures, so the open fire was a treat. Will definitely be back, good value for money.

We visit The Peaks a lot and always enjoy walking and discovering new walks.
The location of the property was lovely and central for visiting the Peak District. The owners were friendly and the television was amazing. The village pub was very good, excellent food and beer. The Peak District is a wonderful place for a holiday with lots to do for all.
Situation very good. Well placed for outings to the National Park. In a quiet village with excellent and friendly church and pub! The 60" TV screen was a treat, more like being in the cinema.
The owners were extremely nice helpful people, who really seemed to enjoy the job they have chosen. This cottage will make finding another close to its standard hard.
