The location was excellent and the cottage was ideal to return to after days walking in the hills.

A good location and a very quiet. A good welcome from the owners with lots of useful information about the area. The beds were very comfortable.

Location, excellent for walking. The owners are a very hospitable and fun couple, very knowledgeable on the area. A good local pub within easy walking distance. The 7 inches of snow dumped on us on Boxing Day evening was the 'icing on the cake'

The location was brilliant.....the owners very friendly.....cottage was exactly as described. The pub in the village is great as well. Loads of walks from the doorstep. Would definitely return.

Lovely cottage, good dog friendly location, quiet and away from the road, easy parking. Lots of great walks and a good pub too.

March 21st-28th 2014. Very cold cottage, no heating on arrival but TV on (why ?). Took almost a day to heat cottage. Electric fire in lounge poor quality, ineffective and dangerously wired. Basic house clean and bathrooms very good but carpets under bed, under sideboard very dirty/dusty (had not been cleaned). Children's 'fort' in paddock was small (6ft square) and basically rotten. Tiny paddock (play area was really 'tiny') with long uncut grass. Overall very disappointed. Did not see owners all week.

The owners are lovely people who took time out to welcome us and tell us about the area. The cottage is cosy with everything we needed as a family of 4 plus a dog.

Excellent facilities and a great location with lots of places of interest within easy access. Very friendly reception from owners and also people in villages and shops in area. Wonderful scenery.

The location was ideal for walking straight from the door with local places to visit if not walking. A quiet and peaceful location with good off road car parking for both cars. Met on first night by the owners who gave a great insight into locality, places to visit and local food specialities.

Perfect for 2 people. Easy to find, lovely location, we used the local pub several times which did excellent food and good ales, and ate in other towns depending where we'd visited on other days. Barely ate in the cottage apart from breakfast, but when we did everything you'd need was there and worked. Central heating was good and the cottage was always warm to come home to. We were lucky with the weather so we're out cycling or walking every day and didn't use the 60 inch TV, blue ray and PS3 as much as we were expecting; just in the late evenings but it would all have been great if we'd had a rain day or two. Excellent stay and highly recommend it.

The service was very good the home was very clean with the added bonus of ensuite bedrooms. The plasma screen tv was brilliant as was the game console. The local pub was really good and the food was excellent! Beautiful scenery and lovely walks. Enjoyed the quietness and the welcoming pack. There was nothing to dislike.

Excellent property that lived up to write up.

The cottage was warm and well equipped. It is well placed between the A6 and A515 to visit the attractions of the Peak District. There were walks from the village and it was very peaceful.

This is a lovely cottage, really nicely done. When we arrived it was all made up with fresh bedding, fluffy towels and the heating on. Lots of nice touches like teabags/bread/milk, and a welcome glass of wine at the owners' house the night we arrived. A great location for places like Buxton and Bakewell as well as walking in the Peak District. Nice pub with good food 5-10 minutes walk. Oh, and a chip van arrives at the end of the drive on a Thursday teatime.

Accommodation was very good standard and in a good location for our activity. Property generally was well thought out for the visitor.

Rated by Mr Lesurf reviewed on 31st August 2012

The cottage itself was very clean and there were adequate utensils in it. It would help if there had been a mat by the front door to wipe feet it was rather muddy. The position of the cottage was delightful and so villagy and we found the owners and the neighbours very friendly. The views were delightful and for us it was a very different sort of holiday. The area itself was lovely and it was the first time we had been there. We actually booked into the cottage as one of the party had a helicopter flight nearby and it was a good location for places like Bakewell and Buxton which we visited and so enjoyed.

A fantastic, comfortable cottage finished to a high standard, and set in a great location.

Rated by Mr O'Donnell reviewed on 30th October 2011

I thought it was a nice touch that the owners invited us, and our neighbours in their other property, for an informal meeting and a glass of wine, on our first night there where they gave us a lot of information about places to visit. They were very knowledgeable.
