Reviews

As a base, the cottage is ideal for walkers or cyclists. We stayed a couple of nights in the B&B 2 years ago. This time we decided upon the cottage next door for 5 days. A great choice. The cottage is perfect, very comfortable and well appointed with everything you could want. Pam & Mark are the ideal hosts - always helpful. NOTE - They no longer do B&B, so the cottage is your only option but well worth going for. Bear in mind that the nearest shops are in Ashbourne about 10 miles south.

My friend and I would like to thank both Pam and Mark, excellent hosts for our wonderful stay in your beautifully clean, cosy, well-equipped, comfortable, peaceful cottage . Oxdales Cottage is in a perfectly idyllic location in the lovely Peak District to visit the local interesting places, of which there are so many – one week was definitely not enough. The delightful summerhouse was an unexpected bonus – thank you again, we’ll definitely be back. 10/10+

I stopped in the bed and breakfast and was very warmly greeted on arrival. My stay was very comfortable. The bedroom and breakfast were fantastic as was the packed lunch.

Last year we stayed 2 nights in the B&B next to the cottage. It was superb - Pam is a lovely person, very down to earth and always helpful. The B&B room was very comfortable - nicely appointed throughout including the large en-suite. We have booked the cottage for 5 nights next August and I know that it will be great - Pam & Mark are very professional. It's clear from the previous Trip Advisor reviews that we on a winner. All we need now is some decent August weather - fingers crossed.

This was a lovely cosy cottage in a superb location for walking in the dales. Everything about it was excellent, it was well-thought out, brilliantly equipped and we were made to feel very welcome.

The place is very very clean, it is like staying in a five star hotel. The location is very quiet and safe for the kids, and there were loads of hiking trails. The garden is very pretty.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Oxdales Cottage. The property was well furnished and well equipped for our little family, and very homely. The location was wonderfully peaceful and scenic, and the cottage owners were kind, helpful, accommodating and a pleasure to meet! We have already recommended the cottage to family!

We were greeted on arrival by very friendly owners. I was particularly impressed by the size of the towels supplied and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. A great place to stay.

An excellent place to stay. Had good, friendly hosts and was quiet. In a good location for the Southern peaks area. There were a good selection of local public houses serving food and a good selection of local walks. There was plenty of information on the local area. Very clean, warm and cosy.

Everything!

We only stayed here for a long weekend, but wish it had been for longer. The owners are two of the friendliest people you're ever likely to meet. We turned up fairly late in the evening, and the cottage was warm and inviting, with some fresh milk from the cows waiting for us in the fridge. The location is brilliant, only a short drive away from some of the Peak District's great hiking and biking locations, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay in a beautiful country setting.

The owner of the cottage was very kind and helpful. The location was beautiful and peaceful. There are great country houses and gardens in the neighbourhood to visit, lots of lovely villages to see and shop in. The Peak District is beautiful to drive through, one great view after another. Really enjoyed our stay.

If you want to get away from it all for a stress-free break I can't recommend this highly enough. The owners Pam and Mark are very friendly and helpful. The Peak District attractions are only a short car-drive away. Lots of interesting walks , literally, on your doorstep.

This was our first time in Derbyshire, everybody was very friendly and the scenery was amazing. The cottage was as good as home, everything has been thought of by the owners who made us very welcome, especially as we booked in the morning and went there that same afternoon. They couldn't have been more helpful. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks for a fantastic time.

We had a great time at this Cottage, its peaceful and very clean, the owners are really nice, the cycling is good, the cottage has its own garden, summerhouse, BBQ, parking, somewhere to store bikes and inside there is everything you need,in fact we think this place is 5star,Its a Real Gem.

This Cottage is really nice and the owners are really helpful. It is so quiet and peaceful, even given the fact that it is on a working dairy farm. The garden, BBQ and summerhouse are for the sole use of guests and we had a very enjoyable week.
