Reviews

Wonderful cosy cottage with everything we needed for the perfect New Years Eve get away. Beams, brick fireplace & very peaceful. We spent four days enjoying lovely local walks (the Peak District is so beautiful) The Tissington Trail & the local pubs! Amazing food & friendly service at The Shire Horse, less than five minutes walk from cottage, dogs welcomed! Coach & Horses at Fenny Bentley also one of our favourites. We loved relaxing in front of the open fire & so did our Jack Russell & Labrador! Lovely, friendly owner lives next door in a stunning farm house & is on hand if you need anything & was very welcoming. We very much appreciated the Happy New Year card & bottle of Prosecco awaiting us on our arrival, very thoughtful touches. The cottage was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations, there was a full scuttle of coal & basket of logs, there was even milk in the fridge for us. Cottage is situated on a beautiful farm with plenty of parking right next to the door. Very impressed indeed & thoroughly enjoyed our stay, can highly recommend.

A perfect peaceful haven! Such a cosy little cottage with a warm welcome from the owner who is lovely. Would definitely recommend a stay there if you want to get away from it all. There were lovely local walks nearby. I didn't want to leave and nor did my little dog Max.

Church Farm Cottage is a delightful cottage in an ideal location if you want peace and yet not far from the local attractions. The cottage is very cosy with an open fire to make the evenings even more so. The facilities in the cottage are excellent throughout. The owners live in the farm house and can't do enough for you and only appear if you need something. Our two dogs were made very welcome as well. We were minutes from Ashbourne for shops as the village itself consists of a handful of houses. The pub is a 5 minute walk and serves very good food with a friendly atmosphere. All in all a great place to stay.

A delightful, cosy cottage ideal for a peaceful break. Our dogs were made to feel very welcome. Situated on a farm, there were lots of places to walk and a very good pub serving excellent food was within walking distance. The addition of coal and other fire making materials made the cottage warm and cosy once the night set in. The Dales are only a short drive away along with quaint market towns that have quirky shops and lots of cafes.

Rated by Mr Doyle reviewed on 3rd September 2011

The friendly cottage owners were very wiling to help suggest where best to walk the dog and which pubs to visit locally. It was nice that the cottage wasn't over fussy in terms of décor and ornaments as they sometimes can be. The location was relaxing and was an ideal cottage for the dog, who thoroughly enjoyed himself, as did we. The local pub was excellent.
