The village of St Keverne lies on the eastern side of The Lizard Peninsula just 1.25 miles inland with its village pubs and shops surrounding the village square, and an impressive church spire, at one time used to guide the Cornish fishermen home. From St Keverne you can explore the spectacular beauty of the Lizard Peninsula by car, bicycle or on foot. You will find tiny secret coves, sandy bays and dramatic cliff walks along the South West Coastal path. Just north is the Helford River, a yachtsman's dream and home to Frenchman's Creek, and picturesque Helford village. Further afield visit Falmouth with one of the largest natural harbours, Pendennis Castle built by Henry VIII, and of course you cannot miss out on a trip to The National Maritime Museum.
Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.
A comfortable cottage except for the bathroom facilities which needs a serious update and overall. The shower is truly appalling, water pressure virtually nonexistent.kitchen facilities are ok but lighting needs to be improved. The main double bed also rather hard. The walk to Roskillys: although pleasant through the fields takes about 20minutes and then another 20minutes walk to St Kerverne.
We love this cottage! It is ideal for anyone wanting a holiday with a dog, a lovely garden area and a very nice property! The location is brilliant and the owner is friendly and nice to deal with.
Situated in a fairly remote area of the Lizard penininsular, the Longhouse is a well adapted barn with " all mod con " ;set in a lovely garden and next to an extensive orchard . Exiting the garden from the back, there is a picturesque walk through fields and quiet lanes to the quaint village of St Keverne and thence to the National Trust coastal walk. The owner lives on site and proved very friendly and helpful. The only possible drawback we envisaged ,would be for people with limited mobility as the bathroom is on the ground floor next to the steep stairs.
We had a fantastic break in Longhouse, it is ideal for a family of four or a couple. The location is fantastic, we had everything we could need and all the equipment in the house worked well. No problems at all and would book there again!
This lovely cottage in a beautiful setting is well placed for walks and interesting attractions further afield in a superb part of Cornwall. It is perfect for our dog having the garden to run in. The cottage is well heated, so important even in summer and very nicely fitted out. The gardens are just wonderful and clearly the whole place is much loved and looked after. We like our hostess very much and hope to return.
Lovely little cottage situated down short lane so well away from road noise. Large garden with access to open fields and footpath. Equipped to good standard and had everything we required for our stay. The owner made herself available if required but left us to our own devices. Would recommend.
We stayed here for 4 nights with our dog. The cottage was very comfortable and in a great location to explore The Lizard whilst also being very quiet. We found St Keverne to be a lovely village with a friendly pub and handy small shops. The routes to other local villages was easy to walk or drive and also the drive to both Falmouth and Helston didn't take long on quiet roads.
This charming cottage is comfortable and very well placed for exploring the Lizard. The owner is helpful and it's good to have access to the garden and parking for the car. Local walks are interesting and it's easy to walk to St Keverne, where the ice-cream factory is welcoming. We were unfortunate to spend some time there in cold (tho' clear) weather, and the heating in the cottage was very effective. Very much to be recommended.
The cottage was perfectly adequate for a dog friendly stay and we had an enjoyable holiday.
We loved our time at Saint Keverne. The cottage was well stocked and comfortable. Our kids loved running around in the garden with the dog in tow and we all enjoyed exploring that part of Cornwall. We highly recommend Longhouse!
We were greeted warmly but left to browse at our leisure. The owner was on hand for any questions at all times. This was a very comfortable cottage with plenty of warm furnishings. We loved the location, allowing us peace and quiet and long walks, but close enough to pop out for the occasional pastie! We will definitely be returning soon.
A quiet and restful location within easy reach of many attractions.
A lovely cottage in a delightful setting.
A really enjoyable break - exactly what we wanted.
Very welcoming and in such a peaceful setting. The property and garden are just right for dogs! Will stay here again for that reason alone.
The cottage was set in a perfect rural location - ideal to go for a long walk with the dog or jump in the car to the nearest towns. Lots do do and peace and quiet to do it in. Had a delicious pastie every day and walked it off after lunch!
Had a brilliant week at the Longhouse, the cottage was exactly as described and situated in the perfect area for both a relaxing or an active holiday. Would recommend to friends and family and will definitely return!
The cottage is perfectly situated, ideal for both a quiet holiday or an active one. Easy access to beautiful beaches and picturesque villages. The cottage was lovely and cosy, the owner friendly and helpful.
The whole setting was fantastic, from the accommodation to the warm welcome we received from the owner. The whole holiday was one of peace and relaxation. It was also nice to be able to bring the dog and be allowed to let him have the freedom of the grounds. I highly recommend this holiday to all dog owners and hikers.
An idyllic cottage - well situated. Very peaceful and relaxing. The owners were very considerate and half the time we didn't know they were there. Superb accommodation.
An isolated spot, ideal for walks directly into fields. Beautiful setting, easy relationship with owner.
