The cottage feels like there is nothing around but in 2 minutes you are on the A40. The setting is fantastic and the cottage was perfect. It was our first holiday with our dog who loved the large garden/field to run about it. The cottage was just what a family needs to unwind and a great base for all the areas attractions.
The Stable was lovely and well positioned for visiting friends in Ross.
Lovely cottage, has all the facilities you require for a relaxing holiday. Excellent location for walking with easy access to the Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat. The cottage was in a very quiet and peaceful area and the garden and the field adjacent to the property were ideal for exercising a dog.
The safely enclosed field was lovely for our dog. The layout downstairs was really sociable and the kitchen facilities were excellent. A very peaceful area. We really did enjoy our stay, the cottage is well placed for exploring the delights of the Forest of Dean & South Wales.
The location and cottage were beautiful.
The cottage is in a great position and the surroundings beautiful. Great owners, very helpful.
We were very happy staying here with our dog. It was very well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Lovely paddock for dogs or children to run around in which can be made secure by closing the gate. All in all a good place to stay and convenient for reaching all the main tourist attractions.
Cottage was quiet and remote but within easy access to all amenities by car. Was suitable for a relaxing/walking week away. Generally the cottage had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable.
Location was very good. Easy access to all local tourist attractions. Excellent near-by dining.
The scenery was outstanding, especially the Forest of Dean. The location of the holiday property was ideal as it was fairly central to all the places we wanted to visit, but very rural therefore peace and quiet in abundance. There was wonderful walks with or without dogs, just what we were looking for.
A haven of tranquillity after busy days of looking round the area. Although so close to the owners' house, we did not feel overlooked or that they were intrusive. Everything was ideal, even the weather.
A very well maintained cottage in a great location.
A lovely cottage to stay in, felt like a home from home. The kitchen was very well stocked with equipment and utensils that you rarely find in a holiday home. It was ideally located down a quiet lane, but close enough to a main road to get around the area easily. Have already recommended it to friends and family.
Peaceful and beautiful situation. Owners of the property, who live on site but in no way interfere, could not be more pleasant. Within easy reach of places of interest and of course wonderful walking country. Excellent pub within short walking distance.
Location of the cottage was ideal - quiet, with access to a large paddock where we could sit and our dog could run around. Facilities were perfect in the cottage. The bed was particularly comfortable.
We had a very nice and relaxing Easter break. The cottage was in a very good position for some local walks with the dog. The owners were helpful and friendly. We would go back again.
We liked the layout of the property and it was very homely and warm. We had a dog, who was able to run out in the field of the property which was well fenced off and no danger of him getting out on the lane, he was in his element. There were a number of walks from the property and Goodrich was very local with the historic castle, good walks along the River Wye and Coppett Hill and a lovely pub or two close by! The owner was very hospitable and welcoming.
It was a very quiet location and the cottage was very cosy. A perfect place to spend our first, 'married' New Year celebration.
We have just spent a 3 day short break at the Stable with our dog. The property is very quiet, but within easy travelling of Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth and many scenic walks. There is also a pub with enormous portions of food within 10 minutes walk if we didn't wish to cook ourselves. The property was very clean and well-equipped - particularly the kitchen. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property for a quiet stay.
Very well equipped kitchen; easy to be able to 'self-cater' here. Walk-able distance to a good pub, and close to Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth, but very quietly positioned with lovely countryside all around.
Superb cottage in lovely location. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Easy access to lots of interesting places good local pub with excellent food The Stable clean, well equipped.
Very nice accommodation, all clean and tidy, ideal enclosed garden. Location ideal for surrounding area. Would book cottage again.
Good location in lovely countryside. Nice walks nearby for dog owners and walkers.
A really tranquil, relaxing location and a quaint and comfortable cottage. All in all a 'magical' place to spend Christmas!
Accommodation excellent and very peaceful. Location good for walking and fishing.
Nice cottage in quiet surroundings and we were so lucky to have lovely weather all week.
An excellent place to stay, a lovely little cottage. Lots to see and do in that area. Would like to come back again sometime.
A relaxing and peaceful location.
It was an ideal location for touring and suitable for walking a dog. The cottage was great for a couple or small family. The food in the local pub was a great attraction.
Lovely quiet location. Excellent local pub.
The property had a home from home feeling rather than the bland holiday let cottages that I have encountered. Sykes holidays have always been successful for me.
