Reviews

Ideal house for a large family group, set in fantastic countryside with an amazing view. Lovely welcoming touches...cider, milk, snacks and flowers and host very prompt in answering queries. Fabulous garden for children and plenty of parking space for several cars. Very well equipped kitchen and 2nd useful fridge in utility room. A little remote but incredibly peaceful and drove to The Weir (NT) which was lovely, Raglan Farm and also paddled in the river at The Warren at Hay on Wye.

View for miles, warm house, well equipped, great games room, comfy beds and super clean. Our host was available to answer messages and queries and the house exceeded our expectations.

Stayed here recently with family for a weekend, house is very spacious and clean. Sleeps 9 people, 3 single beds in one of the three bedrooms upstairs with the other two rooms being double beds. One bedroom downstairs with 2 single beds. Double rooms upstairs both have en-suite and a separate large bathroom also upstairs. Would be nice if the house was south facing as you lose the sun in the afternoon from the garden area. Garden looks bigger in the photo than it actually is, but still good for the kids to run around on. Games room is good, table tennis, small pool table and darts. Games room is joined to house but you need to access it from outside. Would have been nice to have a larger tv to watch the rugby on but ample. Would definitely stay again. There is another house located next to the garden which we didn't realize would be as close as it was, but did not really see the people living there.

A very quiet house in a peaceful location. Very spacious and flexible accommodation. Very comfortable beds. Very roomy and comfortable parking. The owners were discreet, friendly, and attentive on the one occasion they were needed. We loved the location, its rural feel and the fact that genuine, country activities were going on around us. We'd certainly be happy to return.

Bushmills was an amazing place to stay! It is a beautiful barn conversion in a stunning area. We were two families with 4 children 11-14y. Everything was immaculate and so comfortable. The property has everything you need. We would love to come again and will definitely recommend it to our friends.

Rated by Mrs Tuckey reviewed on 8th August 2015

Arrived at this super barn conversion and we were surprised at how homely and welcoming it was considering its size, there was plenty of room for every one and you did not feel like you were squashed in like a few of the places we have visited. the property had everything you could need ,plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils. the beds were of a high quality and extremely comfortable. The icing on the cake was the games room which every generation of our family enjoyed. This in my opinion is a great place for a family to relax and the cut flowers, chocolates, and wine left for us say to me that the owner really consider there guests every need. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

The accommodation was superb for use by an extended family with an ideal layout of bedrooms and bathrooms, and the huge open plan living/dining area. The games room was a wonderful facility used by the children and adults alike. The beds were wonderfully comfortable. The gorgeous views from the property together with it's proximity to Hereford, Hay-on-Wye, Ross and Montgomery made for a wonderful base from which to explore the local area. We briefly met the owners who were friendly and helpful. Altogether a wonderful stay in a beautiful house. We were all sorry to leave!

Facilities are first rate; very comfortable and nicely finished. The lovely setting with fantastic views and wonderful weather certainly helped us have a terrific week. The Games room was a welcome distraction for our teenage kids and the owner could not be more helpful - the time taken to put together a file with every kind of leaflet/brochure for all activities and villages of interest was a wonderful thought.

Rated by Miss Biddel reviewed on 22nd December 2013

I loved every second of it, if you want to get away for a weekend Bushmill is the one to book. Everything was so clean and tidy and even though it was cold outside but when we got in it was so nice and warm as the owner had left the heating on for us. I would definitely go back and I would recommended to everyone.

Rated by Mrs Jones reviewed on 14th October 2013

A beautiful barn conversion in a beautiful location. Lots of crockery and cutlery, so that the dishwasher did not need to be on all the time. We had booked it so that we had a lovely place for our daughter to leave for her wedding, and it did not disappoint us.

Rated by Baker reviewed on 7th October 2013

Well equipped, very clean and comfortable barn conversion. Everyone commented how comfortable the beds were. Having the games room was an added bonus.

Rated by Mrs Newbold reviewed on 4th October 2013

We were a group of 6 adults, 5 children and a baby, this house suited us perfectly. It was big enough that we weren't on top of each other all the time but we still felt all together. Beautiful quality finishes and fittings, I had best shower I've ever had!! Lovely peaceful countryside surrounds the house, it's quite a way to the nearest anything and a bit of a maze of roads but that only adds to the relaxing holiday experience. I can't recommend this house enough, we will definitely be back for a visit!

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 26th June 2013

A beautifully decorated, furnished and equipped house. We stayed there to be within easy distance of Hay-on-Wye, which was about 30 minutes drive much of which was along little used single track roads.

The property is absolutely excellent and the six of us were very comfortable. We loved it! Plenty of room, very comfortable beds, excellent showers and a very well supplied kitchen.

Rated by Mr Thring reviewed on 10th June 2012

A first class holiday cottage geared towards families. Absolutely spotless and with everything we needed for our weeks stay last Christmas. We were made to feel very welcome and there was a christmas tree in the lounge with a small hamper of goodies and a puzzle each for our two grandchildren. The games room was an added bonus and was enjoyed by all, with a table tennis knockout competition throughout the week. The location had lovely views & was quiet with only a handful of properties in the small village, a car is necessary as there are no shops close by. The twin bedroom with a tv & shower room down stairs was great for my elderly father, who couldn't climb the stairs. All in all a fantastic holiday cottage.

Rated by Mr White reviewed on 7th November 2011

The property was excellent - lovely, peaceful location. It had plenty of space and the open plan kitchen/lounge/dining area was ideal for keeping an eye on our young children whilst preparing meals. Although we went in autumn I can imagine the BBQ seating area and games room would be fantastic during the summer months!

Rated by Mr Tompkin reviewed on 31st October 2011

We found the location to be stunning and the finish of the property to be outstanding. A very well equipped barn conversion which we will return to in the future. The barn is super for families given the number of rooms and the games area for children.
