Ideal location 2 minute walk to pub (pet friendly ) 10 minute walk to matlock centre and short walk to park loaded with children activities plus boating lake.the bungalow itself was well worth money with big enclosed garden for dog to run around ( dont forget to clean up after it, ) if you like walking further afield theres an old mill with a pretty waterfall near by, or drive there in 10 minutes. will pay another visit no problem.

This is a large well equipped bungalow, with a very large enclosed garden, which is great for dogs but that's where the good stuff ends I'm afraid ! We were met by an awful smell when we walked in, even though all the windows were open. The kitchen sink, overflow and plug hole were filthy. The grey washing up bowl was brown with dirt and grime and the draining board and pot rack was slimy with black mould and dirt. I had to go and buy bleach to clean up before anything else. The microwave smelt of fish. All the carpets were really dirty with big dirty stained areas throughout and the flooring to the kitchen was really mucky. The kitchen drain smelt disgusting when the dishwasher was on or water running into sink. The cream leather furniture in the lounge was dirty. The wicker conservatory furniture was held together with tape and didn't have any cushions to sit on, making it impossible to sit on comfortably. The bedrooms smelt damp and fusty, especially the twin room. The pillows were hard and flat as were the duvets. Bed springs can be felt through the mattresses. Bathroom floor around toilet dirty. Plug hole and overflow filthy in bath. No curtains at bathroom window. Don't use the vacuum cleaning as it smells like dog poo!! The worse thing I have ever smelt. Complained to owner, as its just not worth the £505 paid for a week ! .. But he wasn't at all interested. Terrible place and not recommended. Came home on Thursday morning instead of Saturday, as couldn't stand it any longer.

A lovely bungalow which was well located, would return again. From my view it was everything we needed.

This is the second time we have stayed in this ideal cottage. We have two dogs who love the huge, secure garden and the side porch is ideal for drying paws before coming into the house. The Red Lion pub is just around the corner and does good food. Matlock town centre is a short walk away and the cafe in the park just across the road does excellent cake!

A lovely little bungalow in a nice quiet spot.

Rated by Mrs Lees reviewed on 18th October 2015

The cottage was very clean and comfortable, containing everything you would need. It was in an ideal location to explore all of the Peak District. We were there for only 3 days but would definitely come back to this cottage for a longer stay.

The cottage is ideal for us and our dogs who loved the huge garden. The location in Matlock is ideal with a good dog walking field up the lane, a great pub just up the road and all the necessary shops close by. Really couldn't fault it.

Lovely place right in the middle of everything; across the road to Matlock Park; shops just up the road and the whole of the Peak District all around. Safe parking.

Location - near to town yet not noisy - lots of other places nearby to visit or walk to. Secure Garden - perfect for our Golden Retriever. Clean and well equipped.

Good central location and privacy, it was spotlessly clean and tidy. Had lots of information about the area available and was very spacious. Also pleased that we were allowed to take our dogs with us.

The bungalow was ideally situated both for going into Matlock and for visiting our relatives in the Matlock area. It was also well proportioned and suited our needs.

Great bungalow in a good location. Homely, comfortable with every convenience and large garden which our little dog loved. Close to local amenities and dog friendly pubs and eating places. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was beautiful and in a very good location for shops, pubs, restaurants, and a reasonable distance to lots of lovely places to visit.

The accommodation was very good.

Rated by Mr Brooks reviewed on 31st August 2013

Our party consisted of mother, 92 and the kids, 68 and 58 and a very large dog who made himself at home immediately. The bungalow was very spacious. Fitted out to a high standard and spotlessly clean. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog or for children to play safely in. It is located only a very short walk to the park, town and shopping. Matlock is situated in an excellent position for exploring Derbyshire. Bakewell and Chatsworth are a must. The access to the lane the bungalow is obscure and tight. Care needs taking turning in and out onto the busy main road. Once at property parking and turning for cars good and despite proximity to main road it is surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The garden was very spacious but could be awkward for anyone with disabilities. There are a few little steps to different levels and pathways narrow though Mum managed well taking care. Wheelchair access would be difficult into the property. Had a lovely stay, wish it had been for longer. Will definitely go again and have already recommended the bungalow to my friends.

We spent our 23rd wedding anniversary in this bungalow - the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. There was nothing we could find fault with. Bright, spacious, beautifully decorated and very relaxing. Lovely garden to walk around. Plenty of books, games, DVD's and videos for all ages. All age groups very well catered for. Beautiful bedding and towels. Lovely clean (non chipped) crockery and glasses. Excellent holiday accommodation and we would definitely stay again..

The bungalow was warm, clean, well appointed and inviting. I had a problem with the alarm and rang the owner who was very friendly and helpful. Matlock is very central to the area we wanted to explore, and a nice place in itself. First class break.

Rated by Mrs Davis reviewed on 20th September 2012

Excellent bungalow with everything you need very spacious. Large enclosed garden we took our 2 dogs a German Shepherd and Spaniel x Lab and they loved it. Near to shops and lovely park. Easy parking. Only negative point was the exit out of the lane onto main road very dangerous turning.

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 10th September 2012

The bungalow is very spacious, comfortable and well fitted out. We were pleasantly surprised by the space in the property and the well equipped kitchen. There is a very large enclosed garden which our dog Rifle loved and a conservatory for when the evenings were not so warm. Located a few minutes walk from shops, parks and pubs it was ideally placed. It was easy to set off from this location on to public footpaths for some beautiful walks. A lovely holiday.

An ideal place for us to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary, having originated from this area we were among many family and friends. Visiting local attractions we hadn't seen for many years. Would certainly recommend this beautiful bungalow to anyone.
