Reviews

We had a wonderful time exploring the East Riding of Yorkshire. The property was beautiful and we were sad to leave. It was so relaxing being in such a beautiful quiet spot with no internet to bother us. I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area. The floor to ceiling windows at the front of the house gave a great view and created a lovely open feeling with lots of light.

Ideal location for visiting our elderly relatives. The cottage is always very clean and comfortable (we used same cottage last year).

We booked this cottage for the 6 of us and thought the cottage and location was great especially with noisy kids! The layout of the cottage is well thought out and very spacious and modern. It was a great base for visiting lots of other places.

Ideal location for catching up with family. Plenty of room for all of us. Loved it.

Absolutely wonderful cottage and loved the fact that it is on its own in a field! Beautiful surroundings but still close to the village for amenities. The cottage is very well thought out and has everything you need or want!

The whole cottage was very well thought out. It was spacious and warm. We were very comfortable and cosy. The beds were lovely and comfy too. We had peace and quiet. It was a beautiful cottage to come back to each evening.

We loved the spaciousness and setting of the property allowing privacy, while being close to various places of interest. The cottage had every amenity necessary to our comfort and enjoyment. The owners helpful as needed. This was our third stay at Owl cottage and we were not disappointed.

The cottage was beautiful and very comfortable, it provided a great base to explore the area.

Rated by Miss Hewitt reviewed on 15th June 2014

The cottage is a super base from which to explore the area. It is very well presented, spacious, homely and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay there again if we were visiting that beautiful area of Yorkshire again.

The cottage was very spacious and well appointed. The location was great for us, being convenient for local towns but secluded in open countryside. The kids loved to see the bunnies running around the lawns at night, unfortunately we didn't encounter the owls. Would highly recommend Owl Cottage and we will certainly be back.

Myself, husband and 3 children stayed at the property for Xmas and New Year week 2012. We chose the property as we are originally from the area and we were spending Xmas with family and friends, so it was in a great location. The overall property is spacious and great for family gatherings however it was the attention to detail which we were disappointed with. The kitchen was poorly equipped, with not enough fridge/freezer space and the general kitchen equipment was of a poor standard. The bed in the downstairs bedroom was extremely uncomfortable. Items such as bath towels and bath mats were of a poor quality with no extras for changes during the time we were there. The cleaners came in at the end of the first week but no bedding was changed. Living abroad and therefore having used many rental properties in the area, we found this was disappointing compared to the lively places we have stayed previously. With a bit of money invested in the smaller details this property could be an excellent place to stay.

The isolation of the cottage suited us. The quality of the building and its furnishings were great.

Rated by Mrs Wilson reviewed on 23rd September 2013

Owl Cottage was spacious and clean and welcoming. It was good having 2 bathrooms for 4 adults. There was continuous hot water for bathing/showering and the dishwasher was efficient. The TV was a good size and there was a thoughtful supply of games to play. The garden was trim and well cared for and will be lovely when it has matured in a few years time. We particularly liked the remoteness of the cottage as we had no near neighbours to worry about.

This was a second stay at Owl Cottage and we enjoyed it tremendously. The owner's thoughtfulness in supplying a welcome pack and card was greatly appreciated. We were delighted with our stay.

Rated by Mrs Wilkinson reviewed on 17th June 2013

Excellent service, nice touch with the biscuits and provisions left for us. The home is beautifully presented and very spacious. The grounds gave lots of space for the kids to run around. We were able to spend a great weekend going out to the stunning spurn point, and 'The Deep' in Hull.

Beautiful views and lots of space. Very comfortable.

Rated by Mrs Silcock reviewed on 15th January 2013

The cottage and the setting were all that was promised. The downstairs en suite particularly good owing to lack of mobility. The welcome card and pack both unexpected and heart-warming. We would certainly go there again.

Our holiday was brilliant. The home was just perfect and very comfortable. It fulfilled all our needs with the down stairs bedroom and en-suite.

Rated by Mr Martin reviewed on 25th July 2012

Comfortable property with nothing lacking. Surrounded by fields and good sunsets. Key in a keysafe meant the freedom to arrive late if required. Owners on hand in nearby farm but unobtrusive.

Rated by Mr Fuller reviewed on 25th June 2012

Excellent. Returning to home territiory and that is how it felt. Owners very helpful as we arrived late evening. Welcome pack was much appreciated. Going back so that says it all

This cottage was very nearly perfect. It was spotless, very spacious and every need was catered for. The welcome pack was lovely, especially the flowers and plant.

Rated by Mrs Holdstock reviewed on 4th March 2012

This cottage was ideal for myself and my party because there is ample parking, lots of seating and it as got nothing surrounding it so we were able to laught and talk till the small hours without distubing anyone. Its also close to Hull for those who enjoy shopping. The cottage is of a high standard and very welcoming.

Fabulous, couldn't have asked for anything more. Welcome pack was a lovely touch. We arrived late evening and the owners were very accommodating. Will definitely be going back. Home from home. Thank you so much.

The location of the property and the clean contemporary interior. It made for a very comfortable relaxing holiday and everything we needed was there. The thoughtful extra touches on our arrival were much appreciated.
