I stayed at Church View with my family for 4 nights. What a gorgeous house in a beautiful village. There is so much to do and see locally. The host was amazing too, very warm, friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend it!

This cottage is perfect. Very well equipped and spacious. It is opposite a lovely field full of sheep. I have seen the review re the noise of the road. We simply didn't experience the level of noise described. It is in a village very near amenities. Three excellent pubs and village butchers and bakers. All only five mins away. So I suppose if you want to be near things you have to expect vehicles. If you want complete silence then something more remote may be more suitable for your needs. We had a fantastic time at this cottage with our two dogs who were welcome everywhere. Will be re booking

Cottage adequate for weeks stay. HOWEVER, BE WARNED the traffic volume/noise from the road located approx 10ft from windows is constant and noisy. Traffic did not really cease Sat/Sun morning, built up during the day and was constant until almost midnight. It commenced again at 0345 on Monday morning. This road is used as a ‘rat run’ by locals and those heading to Sellafield just down the road. Villagers and residents have been concerned for some time, home made speed signs posted st each end of Church St. ‘Give Way for oncoming traffic’ is right outside property. Sat Nav on main road advises drivers not to turn off main road located approx 150yds from property but this is ignored. If you want peace and quiet in the evening/night and early morning then maybe you should reconsider.

Had a lovely week at Church View (5 adults and 2 dogs.) The cottage had everything you could possibly need in the kitchen so we cooked quite a few evenings. Rooms are all very large and spacious, beds comfortable and lovely shower downstairs. Our dogs are quite big so we didn't have a problem with the slightly large gaps in railings outside (although we did keep an eye on them in case) but i wouldn't say it was suitable for a small dog as they could easily get through. Had a delicious Sunday lunch at High Cross just up the hill from the house with great views, also a lovely dinner at one of the pubs. Bakery, butchers and green grocers 5 min walk- lovely quality too! If you have dogs definately go to Silecroft beach at low tide, our dogs absolutly loved it and the views are stunning rain or shine. Took a trip to Muncaster castle too, worth it for the bird of prey shows! All in all Church view was the perfect house and situation to go off and explore. Would definitely go again!

Wonderful little cottage that provided a perfect base for our holiday! The local village was lovely and the village bakery and butcher were excellent!

Rated by Mrs Cooper reviewed on 31st July 2016

This was a great base for touring around within easy reach of the local village with excellent pubs and shops. It was very friendly and welcoming to both humans and dogs, a spacious and warm accommodation with everything you could ask for. the owner was helpful and attentive in discreet way. We much preferred this part of the Lakes to the more touristy bit further North and East.

The cottage was a good size & well thought out. Heating was very good, didn't need to light the wood burner. The location was excellent. Local pubs & shops were close by & had everything you needed, very good!

We booked the cottage as the base for my Aunt's 60th birthday celebrations. The property exceeded all expectations. Lots of space, great wood burning stove, large kitchen, 2 minute walk to the village (with its fantastic pubs) and Dog friendly. We were met and checked in with ease and found ourselves at home very quickly. The bedrooms are good sizes and all everything you need. Lush fluffy towels were also nice. Great value get away in a great village in a perfect spot for exploring the rest of the lake district. Fun bumping into the Paul (the postman and also husband of Ann the owner) in the pub as well as Phoebe (the owners daughter) working behind the bar in the Black Cock pub in the village. We can highly recommend the above mentioned pub as well as the Village Butchers.

In a good location on the edge of the village. The cottage was comfortable and homely, and was very suitable for the whole family (including two dogs). There were nice walks around area and the village of Broughton was very pleasant with local shops, cafe's and pubs. The owners were friendly and helpful.

Everything was great, it was the best value cottage we have stayed at ever. We had everything we wanted..except the weather! Even the bad weather was catered for with the roaring fire and extensive board games. We loved it and the owner was helpful and relaxed about everything.

Church View is a fabulous place to explore the Lake District. The house itself is a cosy and warm base for any holiday. The owners are very friendly and informative. Broughton-in-Furness village is very quaint with the bakers and butcher's serving high quality food. There are also a number of great walks that start at the square. I would definitely stay here again.

Large detached building with nice sized bedrooms and living room, plenty of parking space, lovely views of the Church & estuary and a large secure grassed garden for my dog. Everything we needed was provided and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The village with plentiful pubs is lovely, the locals are friendly and there are a lot of picturesque walks from the village where a car is not required, especially the nearby parks to the east. The WiFi was a bonus also.

Had another amazing week at this house. The house was always lovely and warm even in the colder days and is big enough that nobody is on top of each other.

We had a fantastic holiday, lovely house which has been restored to a very high standard. Garden is lovely, our dogs loved lazing in the sun! Lovely house, very cosy, comfortable and relaxing.

We were a party of 8 adults, a baby and two dogs and this property was large enough to accommodate us all. We were greeted with a warm welcome. The bedrooms were all large and the kitchen, living and dining room were all of a decent size that we could all be in one room at the same time and not feel overcrowded. The garden was also great and had a large BBQ which we took advantage of. This property was exactly what we were looking for in terms of location, plenty of walking and set in a lovely little quaint village with the main tourist attractions not too far away. The pubs in the village were very welcoming, served amazing food and allowed dogs. I would definitely recommend!

This lovingly restored and high specification rental house was spacious enough for three of us to almost live independently of each other but come together for meals and the evenings. Three doctors stayed here in June 2014 - we rarely meet except for occasional annual holidays together and this property was a perfect solution to our need for space and comfort. The railed garden is safe for dogs (and children) and given the south aspect the garden which has terrific lawns was perfect for warm al fresco breakfasts and then lying out in the sun for a while. The views towards the sea across fields of sheep and the church to the left are delightful and the proximity to the village itself made for easy and classy food shopping. The bakers and butchers as well as the post office are all you need, but the gifts of bread, cake and milk upon arrival were a nice touch c/o Paul. The owners are very proximate and they both called by to say hello and chatted amiably wanting us to be as comfortable as possible. The fact that the sea and vast expanse of beach at Silecroft is but 8 miles away made for both sunny and at times bracing long walks with the dogs. The inland lakes are also easy to get to with both Hartknot and Kirkstone passes well worth a day out. The kitchen and main bathroom are spacious and there is one downstairs loo and shower in case of a mad rush for the main bathroom i the morning? There is a multi fuel stove which we did not test drive, but that would come into its own in the winter and the living space naturally divides into two spaces depending upon how you arrange the sofas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return, we think next year? In the meantime I am planning a winter trip to stay again since I am my two Dalmatians love it - and the beach...and the....We give this property an unreserved 5*. This is probably one of the nicest cottages we've ever stayed at. Everything, from the welcome phone call and emailed directions with useful information about the village, to the cottage itself was above and beyond anything we expected. A beautiful, spacious, well decorated and equipped cottage in a delightful setting. I can't recommend Church View highly enough, we had a wonderful time.

This is one of the best properties I have rented for some time, a group of nine adults stayed here for a long weekend. We had loads of room without intruding on somebody else's space. All the facilities are first class from the large kitchen, huge living room, amazing dining room, superb shower room and family bathroom which could have been another bedroom. All said a great rental property with no negatives that come to mind!!

The cottage was spacious and easily accommodated 6 adults and 3 children. The owners were friendly and helpful. Homely atmosphere and well equipped kitchen, the large dining room table was great for family meals. Broughton has a good childrens play area and a fantastic bakery, good butchers and the locals were nice and friendly. We had a lovely week and would recommend the cottage to friends.

I have rented cottages, barns & houses in the lakes for many years too many to mention; This is the most spacious fully equipped property I have rented over the years, we had nine adults stay here for a long weekend with space for everybody to relax I could not praise this place highly enough. The owners are nearby and ready and willing to help if you need them, booking was simple, directions perfect; The pubs in the area were a little disappointing with the exception of the ever brilliant Manor Arms the beer here is as always perfect the other bars need to up their game the beer in one was shocking! About 1/2 mile away is the Blacksmith Arms with good beer and great food catering for a large group with ease highly recommended: The property is clean fresh and on the ball;

Broughton in Furness is perfect for walkers. It's not too far to the sea or to any of the south peaks. There are two excellent pubs but the bakery in town was a hidden gem, would move to Broughton in Furness for this shop alone. Church view cottage was also a home-from-home, will be coming back.

The house was wonderful and the owners were on hand if we needed anything. Even gave our granddaughter a Christmas present. They had put up a Christmas tree, left a bottle of mulled wine, bread, milk etc. Also they provided ample amount of towels which was of great benefit. It was perfect in every detail. Would recommend to everyone, weather was awful but the house was so warm and comfortable we enjoyed staying in and relaxing in front of the log fire.

We stayed over the half term week in October, a family of six. The photos really don't do this cottage justice. It has been tastefully modernised and renovated with everything you could possibly require to make your stay comfortable. The owners are extremely helpful without being intrusive and we received excellent communications from them regarding our holiday. The cottage was very clean, warm and cosy. It's location is superb, close enough to the lakes and the tourist spots but gets you away from the crowds at the end of the day. It is located in the beautiful village of Broughton in Furness with it's fantastic shops, pubs and restaurants, everything you could possibly want in a holiday.
