Reviews

The cottage was perfect for us and our two dogs. Everything we needed was provided. The lovely patio, and the additional garden shared with the neighbouring holiday cottage was just perfect and secure for the dogs. Lots of dog walking close to the farm too. Owner was friendly, but let us get on with our holiday. Somewhere to return to.

This was a wonderful place for us to use as a base for exploration. The owner was so welcoming and helpful, we loved the cottage it was cosy and quiet. We have had a wonderful relaxed time and if available would be booking to stay in October again. We loved it so much!

Lovely cottage in quiet surroundings, conveniently situated for a wide range of attractions within a short drive. We were made to feel very welcome and had a great holiday with our family and dog. We enjoyed Alton Towers, Crich Tramway Museum, Ashbourne, Buxton, Matlock Bath, cycling the Tissington trail, walks at several reservoirs and Dovedale.

We loved the quiet location of this cottage, but also how we were not far from Ashbourne town centre, Alton towers and other amenities. The cottage had everything that we would need, to make our stay a home from home experience. The garden was fantastic for kids to run about safely. We would definitely recommend the cottage to anyone.

The cottage was very nicely placed for exploring the south and mid Peak District National Park. It was in a quiet, easy to reach location. The cottage and the garden was excellent for the dogs, also there was a nice dog walk just outside the door.

The setting of this lovely cottage was perfect for our young family. The owners were relaxed and willing to allow the children to roam through the fields, use the trampoline, and visit the horses. It was a relaxing and fun week, spent outdoors in the sunshine. Proximity to Carsington Water, Dovedale and a lovely pub called 'The Rose and Crown' in Middle Mayfield made the holiday complete. Thank you.

The beautiful, tranquil setting. Very secluded and safe - our boys spent many hours running about outside and playing on the huge trampoline and swings. They also loved looking at the horses. The owner was lovely - very friendly, helpful and kind. A wonderful peaceful place to spend a week - lovely location.

Fantastic cottage in a great location which was tranquil and very peaceful, but also close enough to be a great base for exploring the Peak District. We enjoyed days out at Dovedale, Carsington Water, Manifold bike trail, Ashbourne and Alton towers, all a short distance away. Also great to have a pub just up the road serving great food.

Orchard Cottage is in a lovely location with a very friendly pub just up the road(had to drive there due to dark country lanes). Very clean, warm, well equipped with log fire and outside space for chilling.Owners very approachable and helpful/cheerful.Convenient for alton towers and there are plenty of other attractions but a lot of driving. The bunk beds are good for kids but at my age,a trifle difficult to manage as my grandson was too young for the top bunk! This bedroom was a little small and not much space to move around or put anything away but we go for activities so managed well enough.Overall, was very happy with the place and it's good to have the option of cottages next door for more guests if required.Very happy overall.

We could walk directly from cottage door to a great walk on the airfield. There was a lovely pub very close by and very welcoming. The owners of the cottage were very friendly and very welcoming. We are seriously considering returning in the summer next year.

We enjoyed all of it! We would certainly recommend Orchard Cottage, which was most suitable for a family with 2 children, and the location was excellent. There was ample parking space in the courtyard, lovely walks from the property over fields.

Cosy cottage, good walks from the door, good pub a short walk away and dogs made welcome in cottage and pub! Quiet, rural location but near main roads.

Cosy cottage with a friendly welcome. Good location for alton Towers, approx 20 mins drive away. The Stepping Stones Pub, located next to the nearby Travelodge does lovely meals at very reasonable prices. Six people in our party, two sharing the futon in the lounge.
