Located on the western fringes of the Peak District in spectacular moorland countryside, the attractive village of Ipstones sits between the market towns of Leek and Ashbourne. With a post office, village shop and pubs serving food, this little settlement is a well-served base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. The impressive scenery is excellent for walking and cycling and offers miles of woodland trails and moorland hikes for all levels of ability. Dovedale and the limestone Churnet Valley are within easy driving distance, as is the Manifold Trail. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Lyme Park are also very close by. For those looking for a more thrill-filled holiday, the Alton Towers Theme Park is within easy reach and makes a great trip out for all the family.
The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
We loved this accommodation for our family reunion of 5 adults and a baby. We had lots of personal space in this large accommodation which is very well equipped with everything useful without being cluttered. The outside area is private and secure. Highlights were the Peak Wildlife Park and the heritage Churnet Valley steam train, both within a few miles. We made visits to Bakewell and the English Heritage Brindley Mill in Leek. Thornbury Hall Indian restaurant in Kingsley Holt is excellent and we visited Ipstones pubs and shop too. Thanks to Karen and her team who keep the place so clean and welcoming
What an amazing place, felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. As a party of 8 adults and a dog, it catered well in terms of space for everyone. Fully equipped to meet all our needs, the owners have thought of everything you could possibly need. Lovely to speak to them before we arrived and after settling in, to make sure we was ok. Would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone.
This is the fourth time we have stayed at Meadow Place with our family. the cottage is spacious, well equipped and extremely clean and welcoming. Due to the layout even with 10 people together you do not feel on top of each other. It is a ten minuet drive form Alton Towers. There are two local pubs and shop a five minuet walk from the cottage We visited Trentham Estates - shops, garden centre and amazing gardens a monkey forest where you can see the monkeys in their natural habitat close up. I would recommend the Fox and Goose pub - amazing food Would recommend Meadow Place to anyone looking for a place to stay with a large family.
Huge spacious converted farmhouse.Upside down house, only thing we found it did not have, was a sharp knife, or sharpener! Fantastic place for family get togethers! without being on top of each other, all bedrooms ensuite! fully enclosed garden, to keep your dogs safe. all mod cons.Huge dining room, even huger lounge! Had a wonderful week.
Just finished week in this cottage, 4 adults & 4 children. It's a beautiful cottage & can't fault it. 4 lovely bedrooms downstairs, massive sitting room upstairs. Nice big dining room too. Kitchen has everything you could need & there's also a lovely sunroom upstairs from the kitchen which has another bed on it. Great garden too, which we sat out on late every night as it was so hot. It's on a lovely village. There's 3 pubs. We ate twice at Marquis of Granby which was great. Village surrounded by beautiful countryside, with plenty of information in cottage about things to do. It was great.
We would not recommend this property at all, there was a revolting disgusting smell in two bathrooms and the smell went into the bedrooms. What a shame, the size of the accommodation is good but two of the bathrooms really stank when used. Evidently according to the owners and Sykes there is an airlock problem, hence the smell. Also another bathroom had a toilet that leaked and the grandchildren kept getting wet socks. The owner who lives next door said try pushing the toilet back a bit and the leak may stop! She also said don’t use two things in the bathroom at one time to stop the smell from happening. We didn’t really want to go to the toilet without washing our hands!!! We would not recommend this property!!
This place is just magical, the photos we saw just don't do it justice at all. It's cosy, its pretty, its well equipped, it's spacious! Beautiful location, easy to find, plenty of space to park, comfy beds (although a little squeaky) fantastic living room and a magnificent hall entrance! None of us wanted to leave this beautiful holiday home, i won't hesitate to go back if we get the chance!
My friends and I meet up once a year at Meadow Place and it never disappoints. We have now been there six times. Huge rooms, well equipped bedrooms, everything you could ask for and the owners are very helpful and hospitable
There was loads of space; the lounge and dining room were huge and there was a lovely private garden with lots of space for kids to play. A fantastic house, would highly recommend, we had a great time staying here.
A stunning house and location. Had a fantastic stay.
Meadow Place was spacious and well equipped.
The barn was very well equipped, spacious and clean. It's in a lovely village with 3 local pubs, and convenient for walks or sight seeing further afield. Would definitely recommend it.
Have just returned from a short break in this amazing holiday home. It was absolutely beautiful, wonderfully decorated and furnished, well equipped with everything provided apart from bath towels. It's in a lovely location with 3 pubs and shop a short walk away. I cannot praise it enough. I will definitely go back and would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody. The photos do not do it justice!
It was a fantastically well appointed cottage in a great location. The owners made us welcome from day one and the local area is amazing.
The standard of the property was outstanding - especially at the price. We felt the photos on the website did not do the property justice.
Meadow Place was amazing. Excellent place to celebrate a family birthday. A super cottage. All the family really enjoyed it. Great place to spend special times with the family.
Loved the house, the location and the surrounding areas. The house was all enclosed and very safe.
The interior design of this property has been done brilliantly. The property was very well set out and had more than enough space for our party of 9. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
The 'cottage', a converted barn, in the lovely village of Ipstones was a great place to stay! The whole property was well equipped with plenty of space for our party of 9. All of the 5 bedrooms had plenty of space with comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner, who was happy to help and very welcoming. We couldn't have asked for any more on the break and I recommend this property to any party of a similar size!
Me and a 8 other friends decided to go on a week holiday, we wanted a place with things to do and places to go, and by no means were we disappointed. Meadow Place was amazing, considering we were a large group of 18 year olds, it was great that the owners were trusting, on the first day they came to see if we had settled in okay and if there were any problems, which there were non. The building and garden were great, very spacious, good sized rooms, and great facilities. The living room was spacious and warming, and the house was just a nice size, at no point did anybody feel as though we were falling over each other. due to it being self catering, there was a small corner shop in town, with basic supplies, but a 5 minute drive away in Cheadleton there was a Morrisons and an Asda. Moreover it was only a 15 minute car journey from Alton Towers, which was a great day out. Overall I was extremely happy with the house, a great bargin, well placed, overall I would recommend to any family and friends. Hope to come back soon.
A lovely converted barn with fabulous living areas. It was well appointed and equipped. Parking was excellent in a private courtyard/garden and there were lots of nice touches. I am always happy if there are nice wine glasses in the cupboard!
A very spacious and well appointed property for our party of 8, and with ample parking for our 4 cars. In a very pleasant village with a good eating place close by.
This was an excellent property for a crowd of friends. The furnishings, bed-linen, etc. Were of a very high quality without detracting from the 'home from home' feel.
We have just returned from a long weekend at this property. We were a party of 8 (extended family) and a number of canine guests too. The property was great, with 4 x bedrooms on the ground floor and all en-suite so each couple had their own space, then spacious comfortable communal areas upstairs. There is plenty of off road parking too. The property is really well equipped and in a great location with 3 pubs (2 that serve food) and a village shop all within a short walk. I really can highly recommend staying here.
Meadow Place! A superb holiday 'cottage' (rather, a large beautifully converted barn!) where it would not have mattered to be snowed in, or cut off from the world! With a roaring fire, 50inch TV and lots of rooms to lose excited toddlers, we certainly enjoyed a happy family get-together! The outings to Sudbury Hall, Ilam Park and Ashbourne endeared the area to us - we certainly need to come back to see more!
The proportions of the cottage and its location in a good village with pubs and shop within walking distance. As my group are walkers, we like that there are walks from the cottage and also that it is close to the Peak District and The Roaches. We particularly liked the superb lounge with wood burner, 4 bedrooms being en-suite, and the spacious hallway. Had an attentive owner, who seems to care that we enjoyed our holiday.
No complaints at all about Meadow Place, it is a fantastic holiday cottage in a great location.
I have seen a lot of people saying this property is ideal for 'older travellers'. We spent a long weekend there in December with a group ranging from early 20's to 50's and I would say this property is ideal for anyone, regardless of age. Clean, well presented, and far more spacious than we had hoped for, we were all a little blown away by the size of the property upon arrival, even with a group of 10 space was never an issue. The unlimited logs and coal for the open fire were fantastic, and the location is peaceful but secluded so there is no concern that you may be annoying the neighbours (within reason, of course). The owner popped round shortly after we arrived to run through things we may not be aware of, such as how to control the heating, where to find more wood for the fire, and where the bins were located if we filled the ones in the property. Other than that we were very much left to ourselves while we were there which was great. Absolutely no complaints, with a well stocked shop and multiple pubs in the village, and many scenic walks in the nearby area Meadow Place really is a fantastic and well priced property if you are looking to get away to the countryside for a while, I would definitely recommend it.
What a fabulous place to stay!! We had a fantastic weekend here. What can I say. Great accommodation, well equipped, wifi for the teenagers and a roaring open fire. Great village pubs and walks as well. Could not fault it!!
Excellent property in a good location for walking and visiting the surrounding area.
Accommodation was absolutely stunning, the photographs do not do it justice. The owner came & welcomed us too. Thoroughly recommend this cottage & village.
A good sized property in excellent condition, we had loads of space for a 4 generation family holiday. The kitchen had everything you could ever need for family cooking. We loved our week and will go back again.
This is an excellent holiday home. First impression "wow" - it's huge and the barn conversion has been done tastefully. It is clean and well equipped We spent a week there from 31 May to 7 June and really enjoyed our time in the area, there are so many beautiful walks and nice pubs! We particularly enjoyed coffee and chatting to local people at Cafe Connect in the Memorial Hall.
Lovely old building with loads of character and room. The owners were very friendly and the village is in a beautiful position on the Staffordshire Moors. We didn't need to go far to find excellent walks, wonderful scenery, pretty villages and fantastic gardens to visit. The lounge is huge, the dining room is part of a minstrels' gallery and through the other side of the kitchen is a good-sized children's playroom.
We had a fantastic time, the property was excellent and the owner was very helpful and very nice.
Stayed for family gathering for the Christmas and our week was full of laughter and happiness. On arrival we had the instant Christmas feeling as it was so nicely decorated. The cottage is such a lovely place to stay, so clean and comfortable, deserves a higher star rating. Thank you so much for the card, wine and chocolates and for our extra special Christmas, one we'll never forget!!
Close to pub and store. Atractive property, comfortable and spacious. Parking good.
Very well equipped, extremely comfortable, loads of space, especially lovely it was decorated for Christmas.
We love the comfortable, cosy feel of the property. The open fire in the lounge is fantastic. The property is in a good location for us, as there are so many walks in the area, and the Peak District is close by. A super place that we keep going back to with friend for long weekends.
Spacious well equipped cottage; deserves a higher star rating!
A beautiful home.
The cottage had plenty of character. Great open fire in the living room, nicely decorated bedrooms with comfy beds. Located in a quiet village, just 15 minutes to Alton Towers. An amazing holiday cottage for our break.
Ideal property for a family gathering; just like running your own hotel.
Lovely entrance and hall. Very spacious property for our group of 8. Enough seating at dining table and in lounge. Bedrooms nicely decorated. Superb fire in large lounge to warm us after our days out.
The cottage is a beautiful property, offering much needed space for big parties. The 50 inch TV was a great bonus!
Fantastic property - everything we could have possibly wanted. Particularly liked the fact that the bedrooms were all en-suite.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here ,all facilities were excellent, beds comfy, one downside was the amount of spiders in the bedroom with the french doors I counted and killed 25 in two weeks ,they where big ones!. i was a bit disappointed with the view from the living room I could only see rooftops or someones garden.
Relaxing, comfy environment, beautiful countryside on the doorstep. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
Lovely accommodation, plenty of room and well equipped. The four en-suite bathrooms were an added bonus. A friendly and well located village.
Nice neighbours and the people in the area were very friendly. I think everyone we passed in the street spoke to us and made us feel welcome. Property is very roomy even for 10 people. All rooms are really nice. Lots of information provided, both for things relating to the property and of places to visit in the area. The games and wifi were appreciated. The upstairs living area was nice as it had all the sunlight. Plenty of safe parking space within the property boundary. Overall a very good holiday property - we would certainly like to return.
The location was an excellent base for the Peak District and it's many attractions. The village was lovely, with pubs and shops nearby. Locals were very friendly. There was plenty of space in the house - excellent when you are a big party.
The cottage was well equipped and great for a large family. We appreciated all rooms having their own en-suite. It hardly rained!
Indoor facilities first class. Bags of space without ten of us "living on top of each other" Good pub doing huge meals at good prices only walking distance away. The week we were at Ipstones was not good but the log fire with no restrictions on use of logs was a first class bonus. No shortage of facilities in the catering - loads of cooking utensils and glasses etc. All ion all a very pleasurable and memorable stay.
Excellent barn conversion, spacious and quiet.
We were there during rather bad weather but staying indoors was no problem. A log fire and two lounges made it very comfortable and warm for eight of us to enjoy this large cottage. We ventured out to a nearby pub which was good for real ales and over large plates of good English pub food. There was also a good selection of National Trust properties in easy driving distance.
The cottage was excellent, plenty of room and lovely and clean. Would love to go back in the near future. Many thanks.
We hired Meadow Place in December for a week long house party for family and friends, and were not disappointed. The house is an ideal setting for a party, with its galleried dining area and chandelier, and is extremely well equipped to cater for entertaining. Various guests complete with dogs arrived and departed at different times of the week, and all were impressed. The village has 3 pubs, with 2 serving food, and there are great walks to be found nearby. Owners on hand, but very unobtrusive. Already planning for next event. Would highly recommend.
This was a wonderful property ideal for what we wanted it for which was a pre-Christmas family gathering. It was spacious, well kept, and equipped with everything we needed. I particularly liked the huge lounge and open fire. The owners were friendly and helpful. There was a local shop and pub and it was close enough to everything the Peak District has to offer. We had a lovely weekend.
The cottage was marvelous! The cottage far exceeded our expectations and was also ideally placed for us to explore the Peak District. We certainly hope to go back on another occasion.
We stay in a holiday cottage every other year and this cottage was by far one of the best cottages we have stayed in! It was beautiful and as there were four generations of family staying, there was more than enough room for all of us! We had a wonderful Christmas and the owners made us more than welcome and we would defiantly be going back in the near future!
This really is an excellent place to stay. The accomodation was huge! The highlight is the lounge where my friends and I spent many hours with the log fire roaring. I would recommend this place to everyone. The landlady was also a delight, very nice and helpful. We will be returning.
This is a beautiful property with so much room. The en-suite bathrooms were brilliant and it was ideal for the family get together we booked it for. It is very well equipped and so warm. The owners are very helpful and friendly without being intrusive. I would recommend this property and will definitely be back.
The accommodation was perfect for entertaining a large group of friends/ family, particularly to find such an excellent property that is dog friendly as well. The owners struck just the right balance of being helpful yet unobtrusive. The village is well served for amenities, and the area is excellent for walking.
Our third visit, this must say something! The property is very spacious and quite quirky, a lot of imagination went into the build and decoration. Owners were very helpful but do not intrude, perfect. Even a packet of Jaffa Cakes to welcome us!
We stayed at Meadow Place for a family holiday,9 adults altogether. We all loved the house,it is full of character, extremely comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. The fact that we all had our own bathrooms was a real plus. The wood fire was lovely on a cool October evening and we loved the large dining table and enjoyed many evenings sat around it .There are so many interesting places to visit within a short drive.A really lovely house that made for a fantastic weeks holiday.
A fantastic property. We will be going back.
A fantastic property! It was great having all the rooms en-suite. Very comfortable and ideally located, so many things to do.
The cottage was beautiful and the local villagers were very friendly.
We (4 over 60's couples)came to walk & it was good. We self catered & ate out & this was all fine. The house, location, & area were great. The locals friendly.
A beautiful and comfortable cottage in a great situation for visiting a range of sites.
Meadow Place is extremely spacious and comfortable. Having an en-suite in four of the bedrooms was a plus, giving privacy to everyone. The large dining room table accommodated us adequately. There are walks from the cottage and Alton Towers is six miles away. A great choice for my retirement celebrations. I would certainly recommend this cottage!
Thought the 'upside down' layout was an unusual twist that worked really well for all of us. Bedrooms and en-suites all a fab size and decorated to give a warm welcome to all who arrived. Lounge a lovely airy size, thoroughly enjoyed the real open fire. Kitchen facilities more than adequate. Well located to explore the local countryside. Will definitely be coming again! Thanks
The accommodation was spacious and had plenty of interesting features which enhanced the overall feel of the property. I did not feel that the photos on the website did justice to the property. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of room for parking and a few minutes walk from the local shop and pubs.
Very suitable cottage for a family reunion for four couples with small children. Particularly liked the lounge with large TV and coal/log fire, the dining area next to the kitchen, and the large entrance lobby.
The property is a lovely large premises, situated next to a quiet road. Perfect for our party of 8 adults and 1 child. Loved the open fire and the big TV! All the bedrooms have ensuite which means no queueing for the bathroom in the morning.
The house was excellent and the pictures on the website didn't really do it justice. The owners were extremely helpful especially cleaning away the snow so that we could all park the cars. The village is lovely and has good pubs.
This is an ideal cottage for either four couples or two families. It has a lovely homely feel to it. The owners made us very welcome. Ipstones is a great base to explore from. Hidden gems were Cheadle, Foxfield Railway, Leek and of course there is great walking.
There were plenty of bedrooms (all with bathrooms) for the whole family which meant we had our own spaces. The living area was very spacious. The kitchen was not especially well equipped but as we ate out most of the time this did not bother us much. The garden would be good for eating out though we didn't use it. There is loads to do in the area and some great places to eat especially the Manifold Inn.
The house was very spacious and comfortable. We all had our own space and bathroom facilities. Our 4 year old grandson soon made himself at home and loved his playroom and toys.
The property was ideal for us as a 3 generation family - having en-suites to all bedrooms was very useful. The surrounding area gave us plenty of options for things to do within a reasonable distance. We would highly recommend the 'Marquis of Granby' in Ipstones village for meals.
This property was extremely clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room for all the family and we had a fantastic break.
The barn had a wow factor! The 4 bathrooms were great as we were 4 separate couples. The local pub was excellent for very reasonably priced food.
The property itself was one of the best we have stayed at.
Once again, an ideal place for a family holiday - our 5th visit. A lovely property. Grandson says Alton Towers is good for children!
Lovely welcome, beautiful open fire which provided a welcome respite from the snow after a long walk in the countryside! Wine cooler a much appreciated touch!
We had a fantastic break, the house was everything we expected and more. We would have re-booked again for this Christmas had it not already been booked up.
Large living spaces, great for children and adults.
The property is much more spacious than would be apparent from the photos, and wonderfully quirky in its layout. A complete joy for all of us to have en-suite facilities. Everywhere we went in Ipstones we were warmly welcomed and given excellent service, by young and old. We are already looking to book this property again.
Spacious accommodation of a good standard, in a good location for local attractions/walking/pubs. Very friendly village.
The barn/cottage was brilliant, much better than expected. The photo's on the internet do not do it justice. Very clean, spacious and homely. Excellent location. It fitted 10 adults easily, I can't wait to book our next visit.
We had an absolutely perfect holiday. The house was immaculate and the owners were very helpful and friendly. The fireplace made the house feel extra cozy during the autumn evenings. The surrounding country side was exquisite.
The location on the edge of the Peak District and the various things to do in the area. The design of the property and the size of the rooms gave everyone plenty of space.
The size of the property was very good for two families. Good quiet village location. A nice homely cottage. Fantastic location for access to Dove Dale and the Peak District. Lovely walks, both locally and a short drive away. Also Alton Towers within 20 minutes drive, and Chatworth House nearby. Lots to do and see. We'll be back again at some point.
Very comfortable cottage, we liked the en-suite facilities in particular, plus the amount of space the place had.
I liked the fact that the cottage had en-suite's in most of the rooms and that the garden was closed in as we had a child with us. I have never been happier with an accommodation that I have stayed in before.
This property is ideal for a number of families as it has plenty of internal space. We were very pleased with the accommodation.
Excellent accommodation for 10 people. Great location for Peak District.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we were very comfortable in the property.
The property was comfortable and warm in a good location. We are always looking for 4-5 bedrooms with en-suites and this fitted the bill well. A well stocked wood shed to keep the log fire burning. It made for an overall great week and we plan to return for next year!
An ideal place for a good family Christmas.
We felt the property was of an excellent size to accommodate 8-10 adults without feeling at all enclosed or cramped. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked. The focus and attention to waste recycling was great to see.
House was lovely, particularly the living areas. Owners were friendly and helpful. The house was very cosy and warm!
A truly wonderful break made so by terrific accommodation.
Lovely converted barn with ample room.
House was really good. Owners very helpful. Easy to get to other good walking areas and places of interest by car.
Lovely cottage in a great area. We would stay here again.
We had a really good holiday.
Very very good, none better, will go again soon. Every possible need was anticipated and present in the cottage.
The property is ideally located for all purposes. I am sure we will use again.
The large amount of space the property provided for our family and the whole atmosphere was totally relaxing. We all felt totally at home (from 3 to 65)!
Our stay was excellent overall.
Log fire, location, parking and cleanliness.
It was much better than portrayed in the photos. A great weekend in a great cottage.
Everything was great. The whole feel of the property was just what we wanted. It accommodated all our large families needs. We all loved it. Set in a very nice friendly village. Hosts were very helpful.
This was our third year staying at Meadow Place and it was as clean and fresh as the first year. Meadow Place is a beautiful barn conversion and delightful to stay in, especially in winter with a roaring fire going. All rooms being an ensuite is a real bonus. We are already planning our fourth stay for next year!
Plenty of room for the party. The open fire and the dining facilities were appreciated. The outside set up was very good and allowed for outside activities where the dog could roam in complete safety.
The cottage was in an excellent location and everything was provided for plus nice little touches like milk and biscuits waiting for us on arrival. The owners of the cottage had also provided information on things to do in the area which helped us to decide what to do on days out.
The cottage was spacious and the facilities, especially the en-suite bathrooms were good. The cottage looked better than the brochure pictures. The village people were friendly and the location although built up around the cottage was very quiet. We were all impressed by the way the conversion had made the most of the space. We would recommend it and would return. The area is beautiful and in spite of the weather we were able to do a couple of long walks.
Fantastic family accommodation, lovely safe garden for children.
Cycle hire at Manifold Trail, Waterhouses was good, and trail was nice and flat - suitable for all ages and abilities.
Meadow Place is wonderful homely property. Lovely and warm and very spacious. The gated garden/courtyard is a superb and safe area for children to play or pets be outside. Lovely part of the country to visit.
The house was warm and the owners welcoming. Particularly liked the log burning stove, the fact there was a Christmas tree and the big wooden refectory table which we could all fit around for long meals. The big squashy sofas and coffee table made the big living room very comfy for a larger party to relax in - we had a really lovely early family reunion Christmas and there was lots of room for everyone.
Our second visit to Meadow Place. Just like our first time there it exceeded our expectations. Ipstones is a lovely setting with the owners of the property both friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We hope to return in the future.
A lovely property, and The Old Red Lion pub was very friendly with good food.
It never felt crowded even with ten of us in it. It was good having en-suite facilities to every bedroom. The children enjoyed the playroom, even though they were rather old for the toys in there. There were plenty of places suitable for families to visit within a relatively short distance. We were able to go somewhere different each day.
We cannot fault the property - especially the cleanliness. The best holiday accommodation we have stayed in.
The barn conversion was of a very high quality with more than enough room for a large party. Having ensuites in all rooms was a real advantage. We would love to come to this property again, as it more than catered for our needs. Highly recommended.
The cottage was amazing and beyond our expectations. The rooms were finished off to a very high standard and it was such a treat to have an en-suite in every bedroom! We had a lovely time and did not want to leave. We will certainly be making a return visit!
Everything about Meadow Place was like being in a "Home from Home", it was ideally situated for our foray into The Peak District and our day at Alton Towers, and just a short walk from the village pubs if we didn't want to cook. We couldn't ask for a better location and standard of accommodation. We will be back!
Very pleasant area with many local walks.
A fabulous cottage and an ideal base for visiting the area. A lovely, comfortable place to stay with a wonderful garden and lounge.
Well worth a visit for anyone considering a holiday in the Peak District. Ipstones is a lovely friendly little village and the surrounding area is really beautiful.
The property is superb and particularly appropriate for a large group. I would definitely reccommend the property to others and will most likely return there again.
The owner provided toys, games and videos for children. milk and biscuits were also in the kitchen on arrival. The property was well positioned for travelling within the Peak District, Alton Towers and the Churnet Valley railway are on the "doorstep". The barn conversion is beautiful.
Meadow Place was rented to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday with the rest of the family, hence the requirement for 5 bedrooms. We were not disappointed !! The barn conversion was superb and allowed sufficient room for everyone without being in each others pockets. Local scenery was stunning and people from the village friendly. Enough places of interest to keep everyone happy for a week including trips to Alton Towers, Heights of Abraham, etc. Seriously, this is one of the best family holidays we have had.
Great to have 4 ensuite bathrooms. Fabulous open fire. Owner very helpful and friendly. Fox and Goose serves lovely bar food. The Roaches is a good walk.
Wonderful barn conversion - the way that it was all set out (upside down) was a real advantage, and we liked the open fire. Plenty of equipment and entertainment for toddlers. The fact that all 4 bedrooms were ensuite was brilliant - no queue! Perfect area for walking. Local pub had nice smoke free restaurant. Overall it was excellent, and we would certainly recommend it.
All round lovely area, central place to stay- plenty to do.
A gorgeous and beautifully renovated and converted barn. Luxury!
Very quiet and relaxing people very friendly, village very clean and well maintained. The garden at accommodation being enclosed was excellent for young children. First holiday away from beach resort and we enjoyed it just as much!
??, superb time. Meadow Place is a truly stunning property converted to an exceptional standard. With 4 en-suite bedrooms a good sized dining area and a huge lounge there was plenty of space for a large group; you could nearly get lost! As the organ
Swimming pool at Leek very good value for money.
It was a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside. We would certainly go there again. The Linden Tree Pub (just a short walk from the cottage) provided us with several excellent meals when we were too lazy to cook
Great area full of plenty of interesting natural beauty & fantastic walks.
Fantastic place - the barn is beautiful - we had a really hot week and the barn has a good layout with the bedrooms downstairs - this and the thick walls kept the overnight temperatures really cool inside - it was a really great holiday and we will be coming back to this place....Our kids loved the frogs in the small pond in the front garden. Privacy with the gates was nice too - and it was sooo quiet.
It was marvelous to find accommodation for four couples in four separate bedrooms that allowed smoking and dogs. The real bonus was that all the bedrooms had en-suite bathrooms. The accommodation was superb.
Well positioned for exploring the National Park and surrounding area.Liked the design and layout of the barn conversion.
Great accomodation... space... peaceful and a great base.
Quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Very helpful owners.
The cottage was great (particularly the fact that all bedrooms were en-suite) and we had a very enjoyable week.
Lovely barn, clean warm and comfortable. Loads of space, good area, lots to see and do.
Extra toys provided - very thoughtful. Perfect for our group with young babies.
The property was absolutely fantastic, plenty of room with quality decor and furnishings. It was in a perfect location for walking which we enjoyed thoroughly!
The thing we (9 of us) enjoyed most about our holiday was the lack of nasty surprises. Everything that was said about the property was true and the location, for our purposes of travelling around the Peak District was fantastic. The garden was more than we imagined possible for our 3 boys to play in. Local walks were many and beautiful.
Total relaxation. Good selection of pubs with food available. Good country location with easy access to Alton Towers, Leek and other local towns.
The Wedgewood Museum is a must. Very relaxing surroundings.
D&?erations of our family stayed together at Meadow Place. The house was very well layed out for a family reunion with enough space for everyone to be together at once and also allow one to retreat to other parts of the house if privacy was needed.
Spending the weekend with friends - the accommodation was top notch in this respect, well equipped and with plenty of space, a comfortable and well furnished lounge, and the added benefit of a play room for the boys.
EXCELLENT ALL ROUND PROPERTY, WOULD DEFINITELY BOOK AGAIN!
We enjoyed every minute of our holiday, excellent location and if anything the brochure did not do this property justice.
