Reviews

The cottage was much more spacious than we had expected.and we found it cosy, clean and well appointed. The access roads were narrow and challenging, but there was a good parking space in front of the cottage. We had excellent BT wi-fi and the property had good mobile signals for O2.TV's in all the bedrooms were great for our teenage grandchildren. The local fish and chip was vert popular, but check the opening times. We all enjoyed our stay at Longmor and had the added bonus of lovely fine weather!

Heathylee Cottage was a very good size, in good condition and with comfortable beds. The upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower room were excellent. Heathylee Cottage is in a good location for exploring the Peak District, as all the main towns were within easy driving distance.

We stayed in this lovely cottage for week commencing 12th September 2015. The owners left the key for us, tea, coffee, biscuits and fresh flowers. Heathylee Cottage was a very good size, in good condition and with comfortable beds. The upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower room was excellent. The washing machine and freezer was in a separate boot room, which saved space in the kitchen. The cottage was only a few minutes’ walk to the Post Office and the local ‘Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn’, which did excellent food. Heathylee Cottage is in a good position for exploring the Peak District, as all the main towns were within easy driving distance.

We stayed at this lovely cottage for the half term week end of October, there were 6 of us in total which included the 2 Grandchildren and all of us agreed wow, great cottage and great location. The cottage was of very good size, the bedrooms were very good sized and comfortable, and to have 2 separate bath rooms/toilets with young children was a great bonus. The general condition was excellent, separate boot room with washing machine was very handy, and overall the facilities were top notch and glad to say everything worked perfectly which is not always the case with some properties. This is in a great position for exploring the Peak District, as all of the main places seemed to be within 25 - 30 minutes drive. I cannot speak highly enough of this property, you would be proud to call it your own home. Will definitely be back for more of the same next year all being well, we had a fantastic stay thanks. My partner and I Stayed here for a week with our respective parents and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The property is classily decorated, spacious and comfortable (although I did have to learn to duck when entering doorways since I'm 6ft 3!). The dishwasher, cooker, freezer, and washer dryer worked perfectly. There is fast Wi-Fi however the stone walls made this patchy in some of the rooms. Mobile reception was very poor. Our parents are both over 70 and one of the things that sold us on the property was the walk in shower in the downstairs bathroom, however one minor niggle was that there was nowhere to put shower gel / shampoo other than on the floor which wasn't ideal but they both managed - if I'd have known I could have brought my "hanging basket" from home. The property is up a very small but steep hill, however this didn't prevent our Mum's getting into town. There are 2 parking spaces directly outside the property which was ideal for us. We chose Longnor as there are shops, lovely tea rooms and a pub in the village, and nice walks nearby. My partner and I also rented bikes from Parsley Hay and cycled along the Tissington and High Peak trails which we thoroughly recommend. All in all a lovely break and we would definitely come again.

Gorgeous cottage. The owners left the key for us and the cottage was decorated with fresh flowers on arrival with tea/coffee, milk and biscuits. Stayed with my partner and our mothers for the week. Plenty of space and it was very convenient to have the use two bathrooms and two toilets! Due to being higher up above the village there were lovely views of the dales out of the front windows although it was only a two minute walk to the post office and main village market place. Very scenic walks from longnor going towards villages of crowdecote and hollingsclough. Only one pub in Longnor appeared to be open the cheshire cheese which appeared to be busy with locals although did not sample the food. Excellent fish and chips from the fish and chip shop. Would certainly recommend cobbles tea shop (which sells local ice cream) and the craft shop tea room, both sell homemade cakes!! Pub food we went to The Royal Oak at hurdlow - twice both times excellent. the pack horse pub at crowdecote (1 mile away) is supposed to be very good but was fully booked for sunday lunch and closed Monday and Tuesday! Would certainly return as there is so much variety of activities in the area even without children..

Very warm and cosy, and well equipped. An excellent centre, and close to the village with shops, cafe, pub and very good fish and chip shop. We had a lovely week despite the weather.

The owners were very helpful. The cottage was beautifully appointed, with every amenity. There were good walks straight from the property and the view from the front of the house was excellent. The village was quiet and it was pleasant to walk round it in the evening.

Spacious, attractive property that easily accommodated five friends. Good location within easy access of some nice towns and villages and a well-appointed village for supplies. Excellent fish and chips from the local take away and a delicious Sunday lunch in a pub about a mile away!
