Reviews

The setting is beautiful. Peace and quiet at its best. Beautiful garden and terrace area. Spectacular views. Well equipped barn, everything we needed. Immaculately clean and furnished to a high quality. Really lovely touch of fresh milk and a bottle of wine waiting for us. The floor was a bit slippy in the living area, but fine once we realised. A great holiday, very relaxing, comfortable stay. We will return for sure.

It was situated away from the town and was lovely and quiet, which suited us. The house was clean and tidy with everything we needed.

A fantastic barn conversion with lovely views and in a good location. The barn was very clean on arrival, and we were made to feel very welcome.

Rated by Mr Whiteside reviewed on 31st July 2016

This was our third visit to the barn, its like a home from home now. It was very peaceful and a comfortable base. The owners are very welcoming and have created a lovely place to stay. We've already booked again for later in the year.

Rated by Mr Cameron reviewed on 27th June 2016

This was our second visit to Middle Barn and we were still as impressed as the first time. We received a very warm welcome from the owner. The cottage was just perfect and the location ideal for complete peace and quiet. We will certainly recommend to our friends and family and hopefully will return again ourselves.

Rated by Mr Potter reviewed on 20th March 2016

It was an excellent location and affordable. Lovely interior and open space to walk in. Very dog friendly with dog bowls and leash provided along with a fenced dog run in case you need it.

Rated by Mr Wijetunga reviewed on 22nd December 2015

So peaceful and comfortable. Made for a great Christmas week away, the stars at night were amazing. Underfloor heating made for a very cosy feel. Only thing missing for us was a freezer however being December, we used the shed with some ice as a makeshift drinks cooler which worked wonders. Would thoroughly recommend to any couple who enjoys peace and tranquillity!

Rated by Kelly C reviewed on 18th October 2015

This was our second visit to the Barn and we booked a week for next year while we were here as we love it so much. So peaceful and quiet and fantastic views - it was a perfect week!

Rated by Mr Cameron reviewed on 18th October 2015

We returned for second year as we were so impressed by this cottage and it's location. The cottage was spotlessly clean and comfortable and it felt immediately like we had come home. It is hard to describe that there truly is no noise and it is the perfect tranquil place to escape.

Rated by Mrs Rowe reviewed on 18th August 2015

Liked the view from the cottage window and the feeling of "being away from it all" but actually being within easy reach of many of the Cornish attractions.

Rated by Mrs Currey reviewed on 15th June 2015

A great cottage for two in a lovely location with great views. It was close to village amenities and in easy travelling distance to many of Cornwall's attractions.

Rated by Mr Ingham reviewed on 7th June 2015

The Barn was just as the pictures show, beautifully done. The setting was lovely with fantastic views, it was extremely peaceful. The Barn is very roomy and comfortable, it felt like home. Our golden retriever was intrigued with the bullocks in the field next to us, and them with her, she also loved her walk in the woods. It smelt beautifully fresh and clean when entering the barn.

Rated by Newton reviewed on 21st April 2015

The Middle Barn was a fantastic location to base from. The owner was brilliant, and very friendly. The Barn is split into lounge/kitchen/dinner - bedroom - bathroom, it is ideal for couples. It has fantastic views out over Launceston and the surrounding area, it is uphill and has a woodland walk straight from the door. It has plenty of parking and an outside dog run/patio area/BBQ. The underfloor heating works perfectly. We liked the place that much we've already booked it again for the summer.

Rated by Mr Barnes reviewed on 4th January 2015

The Barn layout was perfect for two people and the underfloor heating made up for not having an open fireplace. In a very peaceful location, the stars at night were a sight to see. Made for a lovely relaxing Christmas break.

Rated by Mr Cameron reviewed on 30th December 2014

Middle Barn is a delightful and peaceful place the location has stunning views. The Barn was well furnished and decorated and very comfortable and the underfloor heating kept us nice and warm. This was our 4th visit and we shall certainly return.

The cottage was one of the cleanest we have ever rented, the owner was very helpful and friendly and the views were to die for!

Rated by Mrs Keen reviewed on 30th September 2014

The setting was peaceful with beautiful views. The standard of the accomodation - both in furnishings, decor and fittings - and including the garden and patio layout. Overall the best cottage we've stayed in whilst booking with your company.

This property ticked all the boxes for our perfect cottage get away. We saw no one all week. A very relaxing and special place. A true gem of a cottage.

The setting and surroundings were wonderful and the Barn was so beautifully presented. The owner was also very accommodating and came out to show me the way when I got hopelessly lost!

Rated by Mrs Greenhalgh reviewed on 14th August 2014

The cottage has plenty of outdoor space perfect for our dog and the dog run was also useful. Nicely located to explore Cornwall and Devon walks, attractions and beaches. It is in a nice private location with great views of the countryside. Owner very friendly and helpful.

Rated by Mr Moore reviewed on 27th July 2014

Middle Barn is positioned in a beautiful spot; very secluded with great views. It is an easy walk into Launceston, and very convenient for touring North Cornwall. The owner is very helpful, and has taken much care over this property and his guests comfort.

The peace and quiet was just what we needed, a real get away. The local chip shop was very good, friendly and the food was great. The cottage was comfortable and warm. The view from the barn was overlooking Launceston and at night was stunning. Some great places to visit too.

The location was perfect for travelling around the different places that we wanted to visit. The cottage was in an ideal setting very quiet and relaxing, the private woods were perfect for walking our dog.

Rated by Mrs Martin reviewed on 6th October 2013

Middle Barn is completely undersold online, your breath will be taken away by it upon arrival. The seclusion is just enough to feel alone and enjoy quiet time, but still so close to everything that you can pop to the shops to grab dinner or re-stock. In all the perfect mini-moon!

Rated by Miss Kelly reviewed on 27th August 2013

We enjoyed our stay at Middle Barn. It was a wonderful restful place with access to many interesting places. Our stay was way too short. The owners made us feel very welcome.

Rated by Tgindi reviewed on 25th August 2013

A beautiful cottage in a peaceful country setting. The cottage was very tastefully decorated to a very high standard. Although Daisy our Border Collie chose not to use the dog run it is a brilliant idea for those who wish to leave their pet at the cottage. The private woodland was ideal for early morning and evening walks James the owner could not have been more welcoming and helpful

The property was situated in a picturesque spot but still handy to town. We really enjoyed our stay and were made most welcome by the owners. We would love to stay longer.

Rated by Mrs Nicoll reviewed on 25th July 2013

The cottage was absolutely fantastic, we could not have asked for better accommodation. Everything was clean and tidy, the rooms were spacious and little finishing touches when we arrived. We were very sad when we had to leave, but will definitely be back. The holiday was wonderful!

This barn conversion is on a hill overlooking a valley with wonderful views of farmlands and part of Launceston. It is spacious and well appointed with oven, hot plates, microwave, toaster and washing machine. Accesss is via a bitumen driveway with a good parking area adjacent to the barn. You can enjoy a walk along a path through wooded area at the bottom of the farm. The barn has underfloor heating which maintained a constant cosy temperature throughout our stay. There is also a good towel warmer in the bathroom. Shower over bath but the bath is shaped to provide a good standing area for showering which is really good. The bed was comfortable. The barn is beautifully presented and welcoming. It provides a great base from which to explore Cornwall and adjacent Devon, with Tintagel and Port Isaac about 40 minutes away, The Eden Project about 45 minutes drive and Lands End about 1hr 40 minutes away. Alternatively the barn also provides a pleasant relaxing environment and if the weather turns sour, it provides a cosy retreat with good TV options. There is no WiFi access so I had to detach from the internet and relax for the week. Overall this barn provides a lovely rural retreat in Cornwall and we would love to come back some day.

Just arrived back from a lovely three nights at middle barn. The barn was faultless sparkerley clean tastefully decorated, and the most compfy bed, nice and cosy.Arrived to a warm welcome from the owner, who I might add didnt bother us but we could contact if needed.Arrived to a nice cold bottle of wine and many extras we didnt expect. The veiws were stunning, situated on top a hill over looking fields and some woods, our yorkshire terrier loved the walks in the woods, we see lots of dears in the wood to.All in all a truley lovely place. The town was five mins walk away but to be quite honest I would'nt bother. We didnt use any of the local pubs as we felt they all looked a bit rough.A car is a must as you will need to travel to go out for the day.

Rated by A Holiday Lettings verified reviewer reviewed on 1st April 2013

We really enjoyed our peaceful week at Middle Barn. It had everything we needed with extras you wouldn't expect. Beautifully furnished and excellent location and not being on top of the owners was an added bonus who never bothered us after the initial very pleasant welcome although if we had needed any help we could have always contacted them. We would highly recommend this holiday cottage for anyone looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful idyllic location.

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 14th March 2013

The barn was immaculate and in a perfect condition. The location was ideal, no neighbours, beautiful views and only 5 mins from the town. It was within easy reach to other towns, great for dog walking and the dog run in the garden was a great feature!

Rated by Mr Axtell reviewed on 10th March 2013

Peace and quiet for the whole week. We felt safe in the property and loved coming back their to relax after a day of sightseeing.

Rated by Mr Gunter reviewed on 4th March 2013

What a wonderful week, they really went the extra mile. There was a Christmas Tree and a gift for us. Wine in the fridge on arrival. They had supplied lots of extras such as washing up gloves, soaps, coffee, sugar etc. It really felt like we were staying at a family members home rather than a holiday cottage.

Rated by Mrs Hunt reviewed on 29th December 2012

No problems with booking or access. Launceston is not an exciting holiday location, but both coasts and several attractions are within reasonable distance. The cottage and it's situation are great. Equipment is fine for two. Didn't have chance to use garden, but sure it would be excellent given good weather. Would welcome opportunity to recycle waste!

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 11th December 2012

This is then third time we have stayed at Middle Barn this year. The property is exceptionally comfortable, we get a better nights sleep there than we do at home. It is very warm and comfortable in the winter months and the views are stunning. The owners are instantly on hand if there are any problems. We cannot fault anything.

Rated by Mr Moorhouse reviewed on 10th December 2012

The owners were so welcoming, the quality of the cottage was the best we have rented, the garden was lovely and the views breath taking. I have already suggested it to family and friends. The first morning we walked the dog in the woodland attached to the farm and spotted deer... it was magical and the perfect start to a perfect holiday.

Rated by Mr Jubb reviewed on 7th October 2012

The cottage was the best we had ever stayed in. Furnishings and decor were modern and stylish. The outlook on to open countryside and Launceston itself was very picturesque. The overall holiday peaceful and tranquil.

Rated by Mr Smith reviewed on 2nd October 2012

The detached situation high above the valley of the River Kensey. The newness of the conversion also added that special sparkle to everything.

Rated by Mr Ravenscroft reviewed on 23rd September 2012

The cottage was ideally located for walking on Dartmoor or visiting the beaches. The extra thought and provision of a dog run for our pet meant we could enjoy time out without worrying about him. Stunning views out on the deck.

Rated by Mrs Mccarter reviewed on 4th September 2012

The cottage was the ideal break for us, our newborn daughter and our energetic dog, BamBam! The property was beautifully decorated and cleaned to a very high standard and we arrived to tea, coffee and a bottle of wine (much needed after a long car journey!) Surrounded by fields and a small woodland it provided plenty of entertainment for our dog and was nearby to many other walking areas, too many to fit in in one week! As previously said by another reviewer, we didn't dine out much in the evening as it would have been a waste not to enjoy the views cooking for ourselves. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a holiday let and are planning to book again.

Fantastic place to stay, this was our second visit and we intend booking for a week in December. Peace and quiet, excellent view and really comfortable, also for us only a five minute drive from family. Great welcome, spotlessly clean and the dog run is a bonus.

Rated by Mr Moorhouse reviewed on 14th August 2012

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 week with our two doggies and it was just perfect. The Barn is of 5 star standard and we have travelled extensively. Location is ideal for sight seeing in Cornwall. The Barn is not overlooked at all. The Woods associated with the same were beautiful. We would definately return. All needs were catered for by the owner and attention to detail had been thought through. We only ate out once as it was nicer to cook and sit out on the decking area.
