Reviews

The perfect location to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Well kept and comfortable accommodation with the bonus of a secluded garden to sit and listen to the birds singing and if you're lucky watch the deer over the valley. Friendly and helpful owners. I do not own a 4x4 so was a bit worried after reading a review saying I would need one to get to the cottage and to negotiate the drive, yes it's steep but no problems getting around in my fiesta. Lots of places near by to visit, would definitely recommend valley of the rocks, absolutely stunning. Can't wait to go back again and relax.

Access road is very steep with few passing places. Driveway to property is steep, uneven and overgrown with plants and bushes. Glad we had a 4x4! Also abandoned vehicle parked on driveway. Upstairs of property immaculately clean with lovely freshly washed bedding. However bedroom door handle forever falling off (must have been seen when bedding changed!), radiators get warm but are air locked hence noisy. No mop provided and no door mat by balcony exit door. Tin opener broken. No wok. Beds could be made more comfortable with newer mattresses. Kitchen cupboards all smelt of damp / musty to the point where it lingered on dishes/cutlery despite me washing all items upon arrival. Lovely and peaceful first day but not therafter due to owner using trials bike and washing it opposite balcony area (and the quad too). Also owners park their vehicles by balcony one of which has noisy exhaust so disturbs you. Rear garden plants overgrown by kitchen window. Balcony at top of stairs loose and no child gate so could be dangerous for children. Obvious that owners have kept clean and spent a lot on living area furnishings so with a bit more TLC to resolve above then it would be excellent. Would be nice for owners to leave a contact number for if assistance required.

Remote rural location (which suited us) but central for North Devon Coast and Moors. Lovely views from windows and birdsong stunning. Nice to hear the noise of the stream making its way to the sea further down the steep valley too. The owner was very nice and helpful and we would visit this cottage again.

This was a great place to get away for the week! There were stunning views from the upstairs windows and a decent sized garden at the rear which our dog loved. The owners were very nice and asked us if there was anything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay at Spring Cottage and would recommend it to other people.

Spring Cottage was a cosy hideaway, off the beaten track, which was what we wanted, but sufficiently close to Lynton and Lynmouth and other beauty spots which we wanted to visit.

The location was excellent and the accommodation was comfortable. The central heating is very effective upstairs making it cosy in cold weather.

A cosy cottage in a very rural setting, yet only about 3 miles from the small town of Lynton. The central heating kept us cosy, the bathroom/WC was on the ground floor, but only down 8 stairs, and it worked well for us.The only sounds were birds by day, total silence (apart from rain and hail) at night. The kitchen was well fitted, though a dishwasher would have helped. There was a lack of coat-hooks, which would have been useful when we returned from a wet walk.

A lovely out of the way rural location, yet only a few miles from the coast and the small town of Lynton, with a modest range of shops. Exmoor is all around, especially close to the east. A nice cosy house, good central heating.

A very enjoyable holiday.. The property is set in the open countryside ,leading to a very relaxing and peaceful break. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and everything was provided to make our stay enjoyable.. The owners were very polite and left us to our own device. Would book again

We went for a complete rest and it was an exceptional place to do this. The owners left us completely alone but we knew they were next door if we wanted anything. It was a perfect getaway.

Friendly landlord, quiet location and ideal for a dog. Went for Christmas and found the property decorated with tree and outside lights and a card waiting for us, it was a very nice gesture from the owners. The property was warm and comfortable regardless of the really wet weather.
