The Piggery, Sleights

We loved it at first sight - its solitude and its peaceful surroundings. It wouldn't have been out of place for Daddy, Mummy and Baby bear's names to have been on the beds! We were very comfortable. We were made very welcome.

This was my second visit and already looking forward to the third! This accommodation is superb in every way - All fixtures and fittings to the highest standard with many thoughtful touches which are so appreciated and in such a wonderful and private location.

This lovely cottage was in a beautiful location, and had all that we needed for a lovely break. We would recommend this without hesitation.

A relaxing, private and comfortable accommodation. This is our fifth visit and was equally as enjoyable as our previous stays.

The conversion of The Piggery has been done extremely well. The size was perfect and actually bigger than we were expecting. There were fantastic views and it was so peaceful, plus ideally located for exploring the moors and the coast. Would most definitely return.

We loved The Piggery. The setting was quiet and peaceful but within easy reach of Whitby and the surrounding countryside. The property was beautifully furnished, cosy and warm. The best cottage we have stayed in.

We cannot praise The Piggery enough. The presentation of the house was superb; we were fortunate to have good weather for 4/5 days and the grounds and views were first class. The décor and amenities inside the house are outstanding. In 5 days, we could not fault the Piggery for a thing.

We loved the peaceful setting, and it was just about the right distance to travel to Whitby and Scarborough. It was a very comfortable home from home cottage which was warm and cosy.

One of the best cottages we have ever stayed at. Total privacy was a plus, we were able to completely relax in lovely surroundings without being overlooked by anyone. Your every need is catered for here, and you couldn't ask for a better kept, well cleaned cottage.

It was a lovely surprise when we first arrived, it was "WOW," the photo's on the web do not do it justice. The weather for us was not perfect but The Piggery certainly was. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable and with exceptional quality furnishings etc. A truly well loved cottage and a credit to the owners attention to detail. We will recommend to all and return ourselves.

Having been to The Piggery before and found it to be a "little gem" my opinion has not changed, other than the gem shines brighter. The owners have done a marvellous job of making our stay as comfortable and homely as possible. Well done.

The cottage is very professionally completed throughout and the surrounding grounds outside are well cared for. An overall excellent stay.

A great property renovated to a very high standard.

A delightful property which was tastefully furnished and well provided. Attention to detail has been given to everything from drawers of tea towels to latches on doors. It delights the eye, inside and out.

We liked everything and didn't want to come home!

A beautiful cottage, it has been decorated and equipped to a high standard and the attention to detail is obvious. It is very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here. Our toddler also loved it and there were plenty of toys provided that kept her amused while we were indoors. Small welcoming touches by the owner were appreciated. Only wish we could have stayed longer and look forward to returning in the summer.

The Piggery was a fantastic property. We are already thinking of going back there next year. Just the right distance from Whitby to be away from the crowds.

Absolutely love this cottage, it has everything you could want, nothing was left out. It is in a fabulous location on top of a hill so sitting on the patio watching the sunset is an absolute pleasure. It was very comfortable and homely, my husband and I would definitely recommend The Piggery, cant wait to go back!

What a delightful conversion. The views down to Whitby over the fields were wonderful. We will go back as much as possible, only the long journey prevents us going more often.

This was by far the nicest cottage we have stayed in, the cottage was decorated to a very high standard and extremely comfortable. Our 3 year old daughter cried when we had to leave. We are already thinking of returning to The Piggery.

Excellent accommodation with everything you need whether you use it as a base to explore the North Yorkshire coast or just to relax. The owners always make you feel very welcome and ensure that everything is there to make your stay something that you will always remember. If you have forgotten anything even a toothbrush you can bet there will be one there for you. We have stayed here many times and will return again and again. In the village of Sleights you have a Botham's bakery which sells a large array of excellent cakes cookies and bread. There is also a butchers, a grocery store and a fish and chip shop. Hope to return early next year.

The cottage felt and looked comfortable right from the time we arrived. The furnishings and décor were tasteful, and the facilities excellent. In all we had an excellent weeks holiday; the weather was mixed but we did have some sunny days. This cottage is situated in a quiet, and beautiful part of the country with easy access to Whitby, local facilities and the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway station at Grosmont.

The Piggery is ideal accommodation if you just want to relax, or if you want to use it as a base to explore the surrounding areas. We have always received a warm welcome every time we stay at the cottage, and would strongly recommend it to our family or anyone who wants to find a peaceful relaxing holiday, as we say 'a home away from home'. Spectacular views. Very quiet. It was very high specification, and had everything we needed. It is located only 4 miles from Whitby, close to Robin Hoods Bay ,and the lovely beach at Sansend. Cannot wait to go back, and possibly stay for two weeks instead of one. We had a fantastic holiday.

This recently refurbished property has been done to a very high standard and the quality of the fixture and fittings is of a very high level. We wanted a very quiet place to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniverary and the owners attention to detail with their Welcome basket was greatly appreciated. We would be happy to recommend this place and will book there again soon.

The conversion from an old piggery to this very well equipped and comfortable cottage is brilliant. Good, quiet location but within easy reach of stunning coast & countryside. The owner was very accommodating of our needs and she left us a lovely welcome pack to enjoy, including some of their own free range eggs.

The Piggery was a lovely conversion and perfect for our location requirements. It has a lovely large TV and efficient heating.

We chose this property and week as our gift to each other to celebrate our Silver Wedding anniversary. We could not have been happier with the standard of the building and the fixtures and fittings in this premier property. We have already recommended it to our friends and relatives, and some we know will be booking.

The cottage was very homely, well furnished and had everything we could have needed. The owner had left a few things for us like eggs and flowers etc. which was a really nice touch. The area was beautiful and we would definitely book again.

Well what can I say. The best cottage I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. An ideal, quiet location and this cottage has everything you could possibly need. The owners were very helpful. This was a wonderful break from the office.

We enjoyed every minute of our holiday. The accommodation was excellent and the owners were more than helpful. The Piggery is like a home from home except it was more peaceful than being at home. The surroundings are beautiful and we had deer in the garden every morning. It was in easy access to shops and Whitby. We would just like to thank the owners for the use of their beautiful well fitted out cottage. We will be back next year.
