Reviews

I recently stayed here for my brother in laws birthday with other family members, the location is really good lots of eateries within walking distance and the local pub was lovely and the staff were very friendly. The house it’s self is very dated and is in need of some tlc, there were coffee stains on the wall, plaster falling off walls and just not clean at all. We asked for a stair gate which was left but it did not fit so it was pointless, the travel cot which was in the porch area was dirty and would not let my dog sleep in it let alone my baby, the house was filthy, there were cobwebs in the shower and seating area, behind the sofa in the lounge was disgusting also it looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned for months. We were asked to take off the bedding before departing, the mattress protectors were disgusting, some of them had blood stains on them and some were stained with urine, the pillows and duvets were the same, I don’t know how people think it is acceptable to rent a house out like that. Also the sauna was broken something which we were not notified about upon arrival. All I can say is i was glad to leave and come home to my clean house.

We stayed at Halford Hill for a week for a family celebration - 17 of us in total and a mixture of adults and children. We had a great week, the house was a perfect base for us and became home from home. It is a bit tired in places but absolutely fine for the price that we paid. The kitchen was on the small side for the number of people but the living areas, dining room, bathrooms and bedrooms were all spacious enough. It was well equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer etc. The central heating and hot water systems worked very well. I would definitely recommend Halford Hill for a gathering of this size, and it’s location is great for exploring North Wales. However, due to the number of stairs, this house would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

Booked for an extended family reunion weekend Halford Hill was just perfect - with seven bedrooms and accomodation on four floors there was plenty of space for everyone and never a sense of being cramped. The dining room with long table for big family meal worked well and welcoming touches like milk in the fridge, flowers and a loaf of Bara Brith were much appreciated. With a group ranging from 11 months old to 60+ the activities on offer in Llanberis and the surrounding area were plentiful; we just wished that we had longer. The house was well equipped and some of our party took advantage of the sauna which they considered a real bonus. The weather was stunning therefore we had no need of the wood-burning stove but wood was provided; the lounge(s) were comfortable and cosy with plentiful seating for all. Provision of bedding, cot and high chair was helpful too - all in all a great house for a large family group weekend!

We spent 3 days at Halford Hill with some friends and plenty of kids. The house never felt cramped, was always nice and warm and had plenty of room for the whole group. The sauna in the downstairs bathroom was an added bonus especially after running the Anglesey half marathon! Location is fantastic and I really can't fault the place. Would definitely come back if ever in the Llanberis area.

We stayed at the house for new year. Was great for the amount of people. House is in great condition. The location is great for shops, restaurants, walks and surrounding attractions. Only complaint was lack of instruction about heating, recycling collection etc. A customer handbook would be useful. Also shame about lack of garden space. The side of the house would make a lovely patio area if it was tidied up and fenced. Would be helpful if you have a dog. Other little things such as a dvd player in the snug would of been helpful for the kids and positioning of mirrors in bedrooms could be improved ie on full height walls near plugs ,some kitchen equipment needed replacing, just constructive criticism, overall a great holiday and have recommended

Very comfortable and great value for the weekend. The sauna was a big hit, just wished we had more time to utilise it - maybe next time!

Rated by Mr Armstrong reviewed on 14th November 2014

The size was just right for the number of people, 12 Adults 2 children and there was sufficient parking for 5 cars. The sauna and log fire just added to the ambience. The main lounge was great for adults leaving the 2 children to use the smaller TV room.

This was booked for a weekend to celebrate special birthdays of several work colleagues. We needed somewhere large enough to accomodate 12+ an within easy travelling distance of Liverpool. I must say when I looked at the website after it been booked I felt a little disappointed as it is so plain to look at and not quite the country retreat I had anticipated - the furnishings also looked a bit basic! However I was pleasantly suprised as on arrival we were greeted with the smell of new carpets! In fact the whole house had had a makeover since a fire in May 2012 and the website is not updated even now, The bedrooms are beautifully appointed and beds are comfortable. It was lovely and warm and the cooking facilities were great for a big Christmas dinner! Even the sun shone for our November walk! Great for a big party!

Huge property fully equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need for your stay. Everywhere was lovely and clean, there wasn't a single complaint from anyone in my party of 17, we all agreed we would return. Plenty of amenities nearby, we used the Co-op, the pubs and the local Indian take away. Absolutely beautiful place for walking. Spot on, thanks.

The house was perfect for our family break and was an ideal location for the path up Snowdon. The bathrooms were in need of renovation but otherwise it was clean, comfortable and warm. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby and the owner was very friendly. Would recommend although not suitable for those with mobility difficulties as there are 3 flights of stairs.

The cottage was advertised for 16 and 16 of us went - 9 children and 7 adults. There was plenty of space. The sitting room was very nice and comfy and there were plenty of bathrooms and lots of hot water - often an issue with that many children. We were in an ideal location and visited several wonderful walks and lovely beaches all within 40 minutes drive. And the village had all the shops and conveniences we could wish for.
