Reviews

We had a lovely week here in June. Can not fault it. Beautiful private farmhouse. 360 degree views of farmland, mountains. The owners were very friendly. They lived about 10 miles away and met the farmer Bryn when he was rounding up some sheep with his beautiful welsh collie. Lovely sheep as neighbours but hardly heard them. It was a windy cool day when we arrived and when we entered the lounge a log fire greeted us already lit by Bryn's wife for us. Lovely welsh cakes and goodies in the kitchen by the kettle !! Comfy sofa, chairs, beds. Television. Garage for 2 cars and plenty more space on drive. Secluded but near many great places and towns and seaside. The train trip from Portmadog to Caernarfon on the great highland steam train was outstanding. Perfect week for us. Thanks guys !!

My partner and myself stayed at Bryn Re for the week 3rd sept to 10th sept 2016. The cottage is really great, (the pictures do not do it justice) The approach to the cottage is off the main road and down a farm track (give the sheep a little wave on the way) When you reach the cottage there is undercover parking with a door leading into the utility room (freezer , microwave and downstairs toilet) from that you go onto the large and very well equipped kitchen, you really don't need to take any pots /pans/utensils. Waiting for us was a welcome pack consisting of milk, cake , tea , coffee and welsh cakes a nice touch!. Next the dining room with large dining table. The living room is again lovely with a log burner (logs ready cut and included in rental cost) upstairs 3 bedrooms again well laid out with ample storage and a family bathroom with bath and separate shower. There are 2 outside sitting/dining areas with stunning views. The area is lovely, you can walk around the nearby lake if you are feeling energetic and there is also a cafe (lovely breakfasts) at the lake and an activity centre. I won't go into all the places to visit there too many, but I would like to say take a trip into nearby Dolgellau lovely little town with independent shops , bars and eateries including takeaways should the mood take you. Also don't miss a visit to Borth there is not much there but the coastline is breathtaking. Porthmadog is also well worth a visit with it's long main street full of shops, although it has a very busy road running through it. Overall Bryn Re cottage is a very welcoming and relaxing base and the area has something to suit all tastes and fitness levels so if you want to go boating /cycling/hill walking or if you just want to mooch about the towns and villages you will find it all here.

The cottage was perfect, with everything we could possibly need. It is also particularly secluded. It is perfect for a proper 'get away from it all' break.

We loved the peace and quiet, with only the sheep and lambs for neighbours. It was perfect for walking with lots of historic remains which were really interesting. We had a lovely welcome from the owner and we are going to book for next year.

An extremely well furnished cottage with very new and modern kitchen. All the facilities are excellent. The cottage itself s in a beautiful setting, remote but not too remote. I would certainly recommend this cottage to all and everyone.

What a beautiful cottage with picturesque views of Snowdonia National Park! We really enjoyed our stay and found the cottage to have everything you need. It was so lovely to sit outside and watch the day go by. Also in a great location for Zipworld and Bounce Below which is only 12 miles away. Would love to return, highly recommend.

A fantastic cottage in a beautiful, remote location. It was extremely clean, tidy and well equipped; we had a very comfortable stay.

The accommodation was excellent and more than we thought it would be. It was lovely and peaceful (even with sheep for neighbours, we didn't notice them after about two days) which is just what we wanted. The owners made us feel very welcome, and were very friendly and were there if we needed them. This is what made this a brilliant holiday.

In a great location. The cottage was very cosy and very clean. It was like a home from home, the kitchen was very well stocked. Would definitely like to return, we were sad to go home.

The cottage was gorgeous, it was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. The car port allowed us to unpack the car in the dry, although we only saw rain on the day that we arrived. The quiet, off-road location was wonderful. We loved watching the bats at night and the other wildlife each day. An absolute 'gem' of a holiday home and a holiday to remember with so much to do in the area.

It was away from the crowds and we had magnificent weather all week! There were wonderful views all around and it was pitch black of an evening to view the stars.

Rated by Mr Jevons reviewed on 29th June 2014

Cottage was always warm, lovely log fire. Everything you could want was there, although no internet there was a good reception for mobiles and was able to receive internet on the phone, which was enough for my needs. The owners were great and nothing was too much trouble and we were spoilt with delicious basket of goodies. The area was good it was near everything and for all sports, cycling, walking, fishing and great beaches and lots of history and castles.

It had everything you need in a house. Everything was in excellent working condition. I have already recommended this property to friends and family and I will definitely go back! I liked the fact that its detached and away from noise of main road and the owners were very helpful, polite and we knew if we needed anything they would support. The property was clean, warm and cosy. Also, the children could play outside safely with the gates shut, it was lovely to leave the children to play outside without fear. Definitely go back again.

The cottage was in a magnificent location with great views all around and our two small children really enjoyed watching the lambs. It is warm, cosy and very well equipped. The mountain bike trails at Coed-y-Brenin are some of the best in Britain and they are within easy riding distance. We spent a few days at Harlech Beach which is unspoilt and has miles of golden sand. We really appreciated the cake on arrival too!
