Stayed over Xmas with extended family, great location, lovely walks from the door, well equipped kitchens, wood burning including plenty of wood, very well appointed and smart property, with amazing addition of large indoor pool (perfect temperature!) hot tub (with views) and extensive games room, we will return!

Stuart! Just wanted to say a massive 'thank you'! My family and I stayed at the Old Rectory Cottages in May half term and I cannot fault, we had the most amazing time. Stuart is the kindest, nicest most generous person you could meet. We hired both cottages and used the interconnecting doors to make them into one. It is spotlessly clean, really well-equipped, stunning views across the valley. The orangery, bbq, and lovely garden with a hot tub were just the cherry on the cake! We all enjoyed the huge indoor pool and the games room too. My (adult) daughter fell ill during our stay and sadly necessitated a dash to A&E. Stuart was immensely kind, generous, and helpful; we really can't thank him enough. If you are also lucky enough to be given the chance to hear his piano playing - take it! Amazing! Hope to stay again sometime soon!

We spent a week here with are 3 grown up children and 3 toddlers. What a fantastic week we had. We all loved the pool and hot tub, especially the sole use of both. They were cleaned and checked each day by our friendly host, Stuart. It was so convenient to have the bedrooms downstairs and ideal for a number of families holidaying together. Stuart came and played his piano keyboard for us one evening, he is very talented and laughed when huge bubbles being blown by the children headed his way. Great sport. Can't recommend highly enough

Stuart the owner was fantastic in ensuring every aspect of our holiday was faultless. The ‘upside down’ cottage is cleverly designed with two kitchens and lounges on the first floor and each side of the house having three double bedrooms on the ground floor with french doors out into the garden which worked perfectly for two families sharing. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you could wish for. The property has a fantastic indoor pool (with inflatables for the children) and hot tub which Stuart tended to every day and kept spotlessly clean. A great base from which to explore mid Wales. The icing on the cake was when Stuart treated us to an outdoor piano recital on the last evening overlooking the stunning Welsh hills.

We (party of 11 consisting of two families) have just spent a wonderful week at this luxury accommodation. It was so impressive and wonderful, that we extended our holiday for a couple of nights as we were fortunate enough to have nobody booked the week after us. The massive pool, hot tub, the large gardens, the cleanliness, the comfy beds and the quiet location was a big winner for me. Stuart the owner is a nice pleasant man who checked the hot tub and pool daily and always asked if we were comfortable or needed any assistance. We'll definitely be back.

Fantastic venue. Extremely clean and full of utensils and facilities. Great hot gob and swimming pool. Also friendly owners. Great views.

To have exclusive use of the swimming pool was defo the best. Super hot tub and enclosed gardens. The house was great, first time we have had a family get together of 15. For the boys night out getting a taxi back was easy. Although there was building work going on next door did not affect us, a few technical hitches with water and heating on the one side of the house, the owner soon had someone around to fix. All in a superb place to stay, highly recommend and will be going back again

It's 3.41 am no kebab houses appear to be open and no taxis will take 9 idiotic English men home. Yet Stuart the living legend answered his the phone of help. Doing three journeys via McDonald's twice brought everybody home safely to the old rectory.

Beautiful, tranquil location and well maintained accommodation. Owners clearly take pride I the cottages and we arrived to everything immaculately laid out, a kitchen equipped with every possible utensil and a perfectly heated hot tub and pool. Short distance from several major supermarkets but once stocked up you would have no reason to leave. Fantastic views - all roads concealed by the large hedges and no other houses visible across the valley.

Visited the old rectory with a group of 9 friends. Was absolutely amazing. The pool and hot tub were perfect. The scenery and peacefulness were a real treat. The cleanliness of the house and amenities were a real credit. Everything was perfect. Would like to say a huge thank you. Would advise anyone to book a holiday here. It's a true patch of paradise and I would love to visit again.

We have just stayed at The Old Rectory Cottage for a weekend with our two sons, their partners and three young grandchildren for a birthday celebration. The accommodation is excellent - spotlessly clean, warm, spacious, comfortably furnished and the kitchen areas have everything you need. The area is beautiful and the views from the property stunning. The weather was wet and windy whilst we were there so we particularly enjoyed the swimming pool which was warm and well maintained. Stuart the owner was very pleasant and helpful but not intrusive. I would certainly recommend this place for a group of people as there's enough space to be altogether but also space if you want to spend some time quietly on your own.

We hired Rectory cottage for my 60th birthday celebration with 14 members of my family. The house was spotlessly clean upon arrival and tastefully decorated. We were pleasantly surprised by the Christmas decorations throughout the whole house which really added to the festive atmosphere. The kitchens were equipped with everything you could need and every room was furnished with the most comfortable seats and sofas. The whole family spent many hours of fun in the lovely swimming pool and hot tub. The views of the surrounding countryside from the cottage were spectacular. Our 3 night stay passed too quickly and we hope to return for a longer stay in the future.

Just returned from a 3 night stay and could of stayed longer! We were a party of 14 to celebrate a 40th birthday . The house is stunning, beautifully decorated, ample space, immaculate high standards clean throughout. Kitchens full of everything you need, lounges with log fires, comfortable sofas ,TVs. Each bedroom has TVs, comfortable beds . But I'd say there is no need to watch tv when your in the beautiful surroundings. You will not find fault with anything. The pool is massive and heated with lots of inflatables for the children . Showers, toilet & changing rooms very clean maintained . Outside is the hot tub which is maintained every day by the owner Stuart . Beautiful views . The owner Stuart is very helpful with anything you need . He is also a fabulous pianist, came over one night gave us our very own show . His brother Gareth came over and joined in . Will be definitely coming book next year. Would highly recommend !!!

We've just returned from a week long stay with family at the old rectory cottage. We were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome upon our arrival and the house itself was immaculate and spacious. The pool and jacuzzi were tended to and used daily, the views stunning and Stuart, the owner was more than happy to help to ensure our stay was made as enjoyable as possible. An overall amazing week in which we didn't want to end.

We were a party of 13, aged 2 years to 72 years . We stayed in this glorious property for 2 weeks. The house is basically upside down, enhancing the breath taking views. The indoor swimming pool was used daily, and the hot tub was very relaxing. Both these facilities were tended daily, by Stuart our friendly owner, making sure they were kept clean. Even though we had 5 children under 13, peace and tranquility ruled. The nearest town is Newtown just 4 miles away, has all major high street outlets. Beaches are appr. 50 miles away. Stuart the owner lives on sight and nothing too much trouble, for him, to enhance your stay. I would certainly highly recommend ,this clean and spacious property.

I honestly do not know where to start, this cottage was stunning in every single way possible. A lot of time and money has been spent making the cottage and the grounds as high spec as can be and The Old Rectory did not fail to please. When we first arrived we were a tad early and the cleaners (who were very friendly) were still hard at work but we were told that we could have a look around the grounds whilst they finished off doing the brilliant cleaning job that they did, spotless from top to bottom. The first thing to look at was the pool house...WOW! This is the reason our family of 13 picked this cottage and it was more than we expected. A great big heated pool surrounded by comfortable pool furniture, changing rooms, showers and a toilet. Before long we headed back to the house where we found that the cleaners had finished and the cottage was ready for us to begin our holiday. We were met by Stuart's mother Cynthia who was an amazing lady, so friendly and so kind and took an instant liking to my 5 year old daughter, she made us feel at home and gave us the grand tour of the property. Once she had finished the tour and showed us how to use the hot tub (which was amazing might I add) she left us to it to enjoy our holiday. The cottage itself it stunning from top to bottom, everything has been thought of to make everyone's holiday all the more pleasurable. The kitchens are fully stocked with every pot, pan, utensil, and gadget you will need during your stay. Both living rooms are full of comfortable sofas and chairs with massive big screen TVs in each one. Every bedroom has a tv as well but I will be the first to admit that during my stay I must of watched no more than 15 minutes of television which is a record for me as at home it is constantly on, yet here, there is so much to do and so much family time to enjoy that I really didn't even feel the need to put it on. I could go on and on about how great this place is but it really does need to be seen to believed. The highlights of the holiday was the pool house, hours and hours of fun was spent here from early morning dips to late night swims with the family, it really was the main attraction of the property. The hot tub as well was out of this world, sitting in there at night looking up at the millions of stars was a great ending to the day. The grounds were used to their full potential, we played badminton, football & rounders and on one occasion used the fully equipped BBQ provided to have a family meal. The views of the surrounding countryside were out of this world and many of us spent time enjoying them. The cottage is only a 10 minute drive from Newtown which has all the shops and amenities we required during our stay - supermarkets, pharmacists, banks, restaurants and even a cinema. When our 7 day stay was over none of us wanted to leave, this holiday was great for spending time with family and really relaxing and enjoying each others company . The little ones in our group (5 year old girl, 6 year old boy, 14 year old girl & 14 year old boy) were never bored and always had something to do. The owner Stuart was very friendly and came every day to test ph & chlorine levels of the hot tub & pool and make sure everything was good. You are left completely alone by the owners but if they are ever needed they are only a phone call away and will help with anything that you need. In a nutshell, would I recommend this cottage....too right I would. We are hoping to go back next year although this may not be possible due to the new plans of the property which would mean a shared pool with another cottage. Sad as it is and as much as we would love to return, if the pool was not exclusive to this cottage and had to be shared and time slots booked then we would have to look at renting some where else. The luxury of this cottage is the pool and the fact that you can use it at any time morning, noon or night is the pulling power for such a glamorous property. I really do hope that Stuart and his team decide to leave it the way it is as I would come back in a heartbeat and we are already planning on booking up for next year once we know for sure regarding the pool situation. Stuart & Cynthia, thank you for an amazing time, we hope to see you again. Also, a big thank you to my family who made the holiday what it was.....AMAZING.

Spent a week at the Old Rectory Cottage with my husband and 3 children, with three members of our family joining us for a couple of days. What a stunning property! Beautifully furnished, gorgeous views and everything thought of, from a better equipped kitchen than we have at home, to games, books and WiFi, and a TV in every bedroom. We spent hours on the peaceful patio, sitting on the loungers and drinking in the beautiful scenery and some of our party tried the jacuzzi, which was amazing The pool is huge and the pool house has showers, a loo, changing rooms, seating and toys for the kids to play with in the water. The pool was always a lovely temperature. Despite the owner living next door, the property is very private - we only saw Stuart when we needed something. He is hugely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for him - he even contacted us after we had left to let us know we had left something of value behind. Our relatives had to leave on the third day and didn't want to go! We felt the same on our final morning at the cottage. It really is the most relaxing holiday we have had in a long time and we cannot wait to return next year. Thank you Stuart for such a great holiday property!

We stayed at Old Rectory Cottage as an extended family of twelve with ages ranging from eighteen months to 74 years. Without exception we all had a wonderful time! We used the lovely pool and the hot tub was a huge success and used very frequently. There was more than enough kitchen equipment for all the adventurous cooks to produce many delicious meals and the two kitchens were very well used. An excellent holiday house, highly recommended.

Just returned home after a long weekend at the cottage with family. Firstly the surroundings and views from the cottage are breathtaking, there is a lot of privacy which was perfect for us as we had small children but, Only a few miles away was the local town which has everything you need from supermarkets, mini shops to fast food. The cottage was spectacular and has been designed and finished to an extremely high standard, the pictures do NOT do this place justice!! The owner was also so friendly and helpful, went out of his numerous times to help us. finally the swimming pool and hot tub are amazing both are lovely temperatures. Truly amazing its a MUST visit and you will not be disappointed.

THE BEST WEEKEND EVER, for our group its a yearly treat, we always try to go different places but when we got to this cottage we felt like nothing else could top this. The house is what you see on the picture and more and its TOTAL privacy even though owner lives on site its 100% privacy. There's also a book inside that recommend places to go around the area so we went to the WATERFALL OMG it was the cherry on top. Overall it was just brilliant, i would highly recommend this place. (Dun knuw a fi go back Stuart big up uself)

We had a large group of 14 of us (5 of them children) and we all thoroughly enjoyed the stay at the Old Rectory. The views were outstanding, the cottage has been decorated to a high standard, and we had all of the amenities we needed. The Pool was superb and big enough to have all of the adults and children in there most of the time! The hot tub was a lovely bonus, and we even braved this in the cold!! I loved the fact the bedrooms were downstairs, and two of them had french doors out to the gardens. Lovely place, and you felt relaxed just looking at the acres of land outside, and hills! The children loved the pool and all improved their swimming and even the youngest were joining in jumping in the deep end with the older ones! Great place, nice and quiet and peaceful, and the owners have made sure everything is to a high standard, and lovely decor too. Would really recommend to anyone who is looking for peace and quiet and to enjoy time with their families/friends. The week went way too quickly! Thanks for a fabulous memory for my upcoming 40th Birthday and my sisters 38th birthday celebrations, as well as celebrating my nephews birthday! We all had a fantastic break! :0)

Amazing view, particularly the autumn colours. The house- being 'upside down' arrangement benefited from those vistas. The Cottage is pretty peaceful, but near enough to facilities.

We booked the Old Rectory Cottage for a family get together and had great expectations from the photographs on the website. Oh Boy we were not disappointed as the reality far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the owner Stuart we were made to feel very welcome. Stuart showed us round the house and the pool area and showed us how to use the hot tub. The house is finished to a very high standard and is very comfortable and homely. The kitchens are very well equipped and you really want for nothing. The living area is on the first floor taking advantage of the stunning views across the valley We didn't have to contact Stuart for anything at all during our stay- the holiday ran so smoothly. The beds were very comfortable and there was always an abundant supply of hot water. The pool and hot tub got plenty of use during our stay. We were lucky enough to meet both Stuart's Mum and Dad during our stay and what lovely friendly people they all were. We were also lucky enough to be treated to a concert with Stuart playing the piano on Thursday evening. What a star! he even allowed our nephew who is learning to play the piano to do a duet with him. He was delighted. All in all this was the best holiday accomodation we have ever had in this country and we would recommend it to everyone of all age groups. The property is only 4 miles from Newtown where you can do your shopping at Tescos, Morrisons or Lidl and there are also plenty of Take Aways to take advantage of. Stuart you have a little gem there !!

Information is available on everything you need and a very professional approach has been taken to the set up of this property. We were greeted by the owner on arrival and made to feel very welcome. I believe that there is still some landscaping being done but this did not impact on the quality of this accommodation. We loved staying there and can't wait to return.. Definitely recommend;it's fabulous and with the hot tub and pool at your disposal even if the weather isn't perfect ( which we were lucky with) you'd be hard pressed not to have a great stay.
