Virvale Barn, Combe Martin

Virvale Barn is in a very tranquil position surrounded by working farms with no passing traffic. Very friendly owner who was not intrusive. The sitting area was at first floor area with good views. Generally a good retreat from the hurly burly but near to seaside and local attractions.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Virvale Barn and would strongly recommend it to others. The location is totally tranquil with fantastic views. Extremely well appointed and spacious accommodation with lots of period features and very comfortable beds.

Can't fault this property; the location and the barn were both fantastic. The standard of accommodation was excellent and the hosts were great, very helpful. We will certainly be returning next year.

The barn is a lovely conversion, done to a high standard and is perfect for families and couples looking for a quiet romantic break. The owners are lovely and really helpful. The barn is close enough to the larger towns of Llfracombe etc. and there's plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. Overall, a great holiday and we're likely to come back next year.

Liked the peace and quiet of the barn set in lovely countryside. The animals on the small holding and the mass of wild flowers everywhere. Perfect.

Virvale Barn was our ideal holiday home from the position and quality of the accommodation. In addition the warmth of the reception and care we received during our stay was exceptional. We shall have happy memories of our stay at Virvale Barn and hope to return again soon.

It is rare that you obtain the combination of excellent accommodation and perfectly welcoming hosts. We cannot speak highly enough of the owners and their efforts in realising a lovely holiday for me and my family. The provision of lovely touches, a welcoming cake, dogs bowls and the freedom to roam across the grounds made the week for us. We shall certainly return.

The Barn was lovely and homely and had everything we could possibly want. The owners (and their pets !) were all very welcoming and friendly and the property was very conveniently situated to see all of Exmoor and the coast.

The idyllic country setting and the remote quiet setting of the Barn was exactly what we sought and we were not disappointed -it was just perfect. The Owners extended to us a warm welcome and after offering us their undivided services left us to settle in. The Barn, decorated to a pleasing country standard is very well equipped with all that was needed to offer to us the comfort we sought. The country setting, the quietness and even the sunny weather all contrived to make this a memorable week's holiday. We will certainly be checking the calendar closely for any availability when the time comes for a second holiday break. Days out to a variety of coastal locations and other sites added to our enjoyment of our week in Devon.

This holiday property is by far the best that my family and I have stayed in for many years. Being on a farm with plenty of land it was great for our young grandson and two dogs. Five days of bliss in the lovely surroundings in a most beautiful part of the Devonshire countryside. The owners who live close by are friendly, made us very welcome and were on hand for any help we required. Excellent.
