Reviews

We have just returned from the cottage 4 nights end of September to 2nd October. its lovely and very quiet but sadly it wasnt cleaned very well. The toilet sest in the bedroom was dirty and under the seat was stained with dried wee the seat was thick of dust. The Living room floor had rice on the rug and orange rubber bits like from a chewed dog toy. We had to clean all the utensils before use as a few of them were stained with food. We put in all the plates and pots and pans to be on the safe side. We also cleaned the toilet. There is a wardrobe in the room that was also thick of dust. We understand you might get some dust but that hasnt been dusted in a while. You dont go on holiday to start cleaning. It also states it has a washer dryer in the full list of whats there but its only a washing machine. Shame the cleanliness lets it down as its a nice little cottage, quiet location.

We stayed here for 5 days with our little dog and it was absolutely lovely. Very quiet and private. good place to park next to the cottage. The garden was safe for the dog with lots of lovely pots and garden furniture and the hot tub was so special. We could relax there after good walks in the area with a glass of wine and the dog just pottered about. Not a soul in sight it was heaven. The neighbouring Pea Hen liked to have look at us ( we never saw her partner Percy but evidently he is very vain!) The furnishing indoors and little touches made this such a wonderful place to stay. The bath with its little claw legs was so great to look at never mind relaxing in it too! you have a shower facility too for when you go in the hot tub too and a downnstairs loo. the kitchen is well equiped ( just realised I spelt this wrong in the visitor book!!) the bed sooo comfy. oh it is lovely I cannot get over it and the owners arevery nice and genuine too. You have wonderful walks in the villiage ( go down River lane ) to ge to the woodland riverside walk A short drive to the wonderful Richmond with its shops, eateries, river walk and the castle is a must and there is Easby Abbey nearby. All Lovely we went to Leyburn and the Aysgarth Falls, Darlington all great expereinces after busy days you return to your own peace and tranqulity place at the Dove Cote Highly recommend this place - we will definately return
