It was like ‘home from home’ staying here as we live in the Lake District, but the house/barn conversion was absolutely beautiful and a real treat for us! The hot tub was perfectly situated outside looking onto the far hills and close by farm animals. The owners were extremely welcoming, providing us with free range eggs, chocolates and much more! They were helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. I came with my partner and 4 other friends, we loved that each bedroom was ensuite, allowing privacy but the house also had two beautiful living rooms to relax in! We would highly recommend this accommodation and will certainly be returning!! Thanks :)

The location of the cottage was wonderful (if a bit difficult to find due to lack of signal on my phone) but once we made it there, it was great. Very quiet and relaxing and the hot tub was lovely. The cottage is well kept and the hosts were some of the nicest people we have experienced when travelling. We also went on day trips to snowdia, conwy castle and the Wirral/Liverpool all a 40-60 mine drive away. I would definitely recommend this cottage and would like to stay again k the near future.

A group of us stayed in the newer cottage for a long weekend and we absolutely loved it! Everything is finished to a very high standard and very luxurious, with stunning views and surroundings. There were some lovely thoughtful touches and we will most definitely be coming back!

Liked the warm welcome from our hosts and the spaciousness of the accommodation. The views over the valley were spectacular, especially from the first floor sitting room. The finish and craftsmanship that has been used in the construction is excellent. We enjoyed watching the swallows swooping into their nests under the eaves whilst we sat in the hot tub with a glass of wine. Simply a super place for a getaway holiday.

This property has been the most superior accommodation we have ever stayed in by far. The standards were extremely high. The furniture, décor and facilities were outstanding. There were so many little touches that made our stay so very memorable and special. No words can really express how welcome we were made to feel by the owners and their entire family. The owners are a real credit to themselves. They are truly wonderful, kind and warm people. They made myself, my husband and both of our children feel so welcome which made our holiday the best ever. It has to be said that we will most definitely be returning again, as will many of our friends and family. Thank you so much to both of them for being so wonderful. They are a very inspirational couple who deserve every success which comes their way.

We stayed here for a week along with the rest of my family which included 6 adults and a baby. The cottage is situated in a very quiet, secluded spot on the side of a hill not far from the town of Ruthin, which made the cottage quite tricky to find, (there is no mobile phone signal) - so it made it a bit more difficult trying to find the cottage if you arrive in the dark like we did! However, the location was beautiful. The views over the hillside and small village of Clocaenog are best enjoyed from the first floor lounge or from the hot tub! We spent many evenings enjoying the hot tub, even in the pouring rain. One of the reasons we choose this cottage was because every bedroom had either a double or twin beds (no bunkbeds!) and each room also had an en-suite, which meant no queues for the bathroom each morning. The cottage was spotless, and the facilities were more than adequate. The sinks in some of the ensuites were rather small - ideal for brushing teeth etc, but it did make it very easy to spill water onto the floor. Also, the bedrooms would really benefit from a couple more coathooks or maybe a towel rail in the bathroom to hang the extra towels. Only other small thing, maybe a plug socket near to the large mirror would have made drying (and straightning) my hair a bit easier. All in all, this cottage had everything you could possibly need. The box of chocolates and wine were much appreciated! We had a lovely week in North Wales and were so pleased that we were able to find this lovely cottage. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone!

An amazing cottage and hot tub in a great location. The owners were very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. Looking to go back next year!

Thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas break here; from our arrival to the amazing views from the hot tub. The cottage is finished and furnished to a very high standard and the help, advice and service given by the family was excellent. We are completely looking forward to being able to spend another Christmas at this cottage next year. We may even try out a few of the walks next year, rather spending the entire time in the hot tub and playing board games.

Absolutely fantastic and luxurious cottage. The cottage has been thoughtfully converted and finished to the highest standard. Quality furnishings have been used throughout, the beds being very comfortable and affording a good night’s sleep. The place to relax, so peaceful but only 15 minutes away from Ruthin where you can find all you need to keep you going. From the great welcome from our hosts to the quality of the property this is a fantastic find. Ample space for everyone to get together for a chat or a game of scrabble yet plenty space to have your own chill time. So relaxing sitting in the hot tub looking out over the valley letting the stress of everyday live wash away.

It's taken me a while to get to this review but I think the fact I still remember what a fabulous time we had is testimony to the standard of this cottage! Bruce and Catrin are wonderful hosts, attentive enough without being overbearing and making you feel uncomfortable - the added extras were also much appreciated after a long drive! The standard of finish in this building leaves almost nothing to be desired, from the comfortable beds and high quality furniture to the lovely hot showers and well kept outdoor area, it oozes the sense of cheeky luxury. There was only one slight issue we found, there were lovely little ceiling height windows in each of the upstairs room making them feel light and spacious, however these did let the light in and resulted in us waking up early as the sun rose. We combatted this by organising the throw cushions and pushing them up into the gap but blinds may be a good addition here. We spent all of our evenings in the hot tub, one of the things that made this holiday such a super short break! There did seem to be a slight issue with some of the jets and audio facilities despite being a little annoying this didn't spoil it for us - the view could make up for pretty much anything! Great to have wifi which actually worked, obviously signal can be an issue in real areas like this. Ruthin takes less time and hassle to get to than you make think and the Tesco is well stocked. If you're a keen cook the cottage seems to provide all utensils, pans etc that you may need. The location is lovely if you're not looking to do too much. We did end up driving about an hour each day to get around but that's just us. There's a nearby Go Karting centre which is well worth a visit. When we stayed they were working on a second cottage, we've already got our sights set on hiring them both for another weekend ASAP so that we can share this experience with an even bigger group of friends, although I did wonder if I should really give this nearly secret space away...
