Ideal for a small family to visit, or a romantic getaway for two, this retreat is a modern holiday escape with a twist of character. Patio doors open to a kitchen/diner, where you will feel right at home amongst the country-style décor, complete with a charming table, slate floors and lovely oak units. The comfortable sitting room is perfect for reading a book of your choice, as you unwind in the peace and quiet. On a nice afternoon, why not take in the the views and enjoy a refreshing drink in the sun. Also joining the accommodation is the family bathroom. A double and single bedroom compliment the property, styled with traditional furnishings promising a peaceful night's sleep. The mezzanine area provides two single beds which can be a super king-size double on request. The village of Gilwern offers visitors many amenities, including traditional pubs, and shops. The Brecon Beacons National Park and the whole area around Gilwern is surrounded by stunning countryside, and offers excellent walking, cycling and bird watching. The medieval market town of Abergavenny, the "Gateway to Wales", is nestled close by, between the 'seven hills' and has something for everyone.

This place is amazing the area it is in perfect for accessing everything in the brecons, its an easy walk into Gilwern which it a nice little village with the mon &brec on its doorstep lovely walks. The property is amazing I want to live there. I would recommend requesting to sleep on the mezzanine I wish I had its awesome. It has everything you need and the proprietor is lovely. Highly recommended definitely would return.
Cottage is very and clean. Gilwern is a lovely town, with good walking along the canal and in the national forest. Simon was exceedingly helpful and kind during our stay!
