This lovely, character, terraced cottage is situated next to the owner’s home on the edge of the Northumberland town of Haltwhistle, one mile from the impressive Hadrian’s Wall. From the doorstep you'll enjoy wonderful walking and cycling, with ruined Roman temples, forts and fortresses and the archaeological sites along Hadrian's Wall all waiting to be found nearby. Within driving distance is superb Alnwick Castle and its fascinating accompanying gardens, along with idyllic Holy Island and Northumberland’s many miles of Heritage Coastline, all worthy of a day trip before returning to the fireside of this cosy Haltwhistle cottage. Haltwhistle boasts a good range of shops and pubs - one of which, The Black Bull, is a real ale pub serving good food! There is an excellent leisure centre with heated open air swimming pool and cycle hire in the town, with pony trekking nearby. One of the best preserved stretches of Hadrian's Wall is only a mile to the north. A fantastic base for a Nortumberland adventure!
