Coachman's Cottage is a character cottage a few minutes' walk from the amenities of Cartmel. This single-storey cottage has a double and a twin room, a bathroom and an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove. Outside there is allocated parking for one car, plus a private patio and shared use of the grounds. Coachman's Cottage is perfectly placed for strolls around the village or for heading out to really explore the Lakes, with Lake Windermere only 6 miles away, making it a superb base for a year-round break.

Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 1.2 miles. Note: Unfenced pond, children to be supervised. Note: Check-in 3.00pm.
Location Details
Renowned for being the prettiest village in the Lake District, the small town of Cartmel in South Lakeland is a wonderful, picturesque holiday destination. At the heart of this thriving community is the Priory Church, one of the finest ecclesiastical buildings in the north of England with its gatehouse still in use as the entrance to the settlement itself. Amidst cobbled streets and pretty streamside walks, are a range of quaint gift shops, antique shops, traditional pubs that serve real ale and the nationally renowned Michelin-starred restaurant L'Enclume. A well-loved destination for hill-walkers, the region is full of excellent trails through stunning, unspoilt countryside. In addition, there is the Campbell Legend Bluebird Exhibition, Lakeland Motor Museum and Hunt Racecourse all in the near vicinity. With Windermere and Grange-over-Sands only a few minutes away, there's plenty for everyone to do.
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Everything was perfect in the Coachman's Cottage, as we are getting on in years, we found everything to a good standard and things very accessible.
The cottage is in a fabulous location and so restful. We are booking today to go again! This is a little gem in the lakes.
Coachman's Cottage is very cosy, well equipped, comfortable and warm. The kitchen is modern and has everything you need. The bathroom has a good shower and a bath with plenty of hot water. Linen and towels were of high quality. The beds are very comfortable. Parking is secure and the seating area outside is delightful. The cottage is situated in a beautiful setting; the surroundings are idyllic. We thought this was an excellent place to stay, would highly recommend it and would definitely return.
We were so excited to stay at this cottage. The cottage itself was perfect for us, as it is all on one level and easily navigated. The living area was extremely comfortable and homely, which made our stay very enjoyable. The bedrooms were comfortable and high quality bedding was provided along with lovely towels. A top notch holiday cottage - highly recommended.
We stayed at Coachman's Cottage for half term. Excellent all round from cottage to location. We found the cottage was central to all the attractions we wanted. We were never stuck for anything to do. The cottage is 5 star with everything you could possibly think of. A home from home. We are already planning another break here in the summer.
Coachman's Cottage was cosy and extremely comfortable. Very high standard throughout. Location was quiet & restful but close to Cartmel which is a real hub for good food & friendly service. Many walks to enjoy in the immediate area. Cottage & location excellent if you want a restful New Year's break away from the hustle & bustle of daily life! We loved it!

The cottage was the perfect retreat for a quiet week of relaxation. Coachman's Cottage had everything we could have asked for and it was perfect. I would definitely book this cottage again and recommend to any of my family and friends who are looking for somewhere to unwind.
The cottage is without doubt one of the best, if not the best that we have stayed at. There was tourist information and OS maps as well as short guided walk maps ready for us to use. The kitchen is excellent; all new with good quality cutlery and dishes. The double bed is really comfortable and I have to say that the pillows are good and give a good nights sleep to anyone who suffers from a bad neck as I do. The bathroom again has a feel that its just been finished and made ready just for your visit, the shower is easy to operate, its really good.
Coachman's Cottage was warm, cosy and friendly with every little detail thought about. There was everything you could think of provided and it was the best holiday accommodation I have ever stayed in during any British holiday. The area was close to all the places we wanted to visit too!
So much to do in the area but yet a quiet corner of the Lakes. Had excellent road links to the rest of the Lakes and Cumbria. Great food and drink locally. A cosy and clean cottage to return to, with a particularly good TV and Internet connection. Had a really varied and quality collection of books, games and DVDs too, so no worries about the weather! Loved the ducks on the pond and the well kept gardens, lovely to stroll through after tea.
A beautiful cottage in beautiful gardens with ducks in the pond to feed. The beds were so comfy and the sofas very cosy too. Will be going back sometime.
Absolutely loved this cottage - it was warm, cosy and so welcoming. The owners have thought of everything. The family games especially were a big hit. Had a wonderful stay and would recommend to friends.
