Fantastic place! Owner very welcoming and kind. The property was absolutely immaculate, and there was the most tantalizing smell of freshly baked bread waiting for us as we arrived! It literally had everything that we needed for our two families, including games and books for the children, which was a real welcome touch! Property was nicely furnished, and it was gorgeous to cook a large family meal whilst listening to music and having a glass of wine. The views are outstanding, and we also loved the little pub up the road. We will certainly be returning!

Our 2nd stay at Cobblers Barn. First in 2016 was our first cottage holiday. We have done several since but always wanted to return here. With the Covid situation, we decided in May that now was the time and booked a week in September. We`ve been back home a week. Everyone is missing Cobblers Barn and Mickleton, especially the Sunday Lunch at the Blacksmiths which was the best everyone had had. Tea at the Rose and Crown in Romaldkirk was fantastic. Our visit to the Kirk Inn over the road prior was one that we will be talking about for many years for several reasons. The Barn has everything a large group could wish for. It is very spacious even when fully occupied. Mickleton is great. So many lovely walks. Low Force is a particular highlight. We hope to return.

We stayed at the Cobbler's Barn in February 2020 and couldn't recommend it highly enough! A family of 4 with 2 teenage children, girlfriend, grandparents and a cocker spaniel, the house was spacious enough for the 7 of us to be comfortable for 3 nights (could happily have stayed longer). The owner is lovely and made our arrival extremely welcoming, with fresh bread baking there was milk in the fridge and a selection of goodies waiting for us! I'd ordered a Tesco delivery for the day we arrived so we were well stocked up for the duration. The barn, with its underfloor heating and wood burner was warm and cosy, which was just what we needed as the weather was terrible! That didn't stop us venturing out to the high & low force waterfalls and nearby Barnard Castle and the village itself is really pretty for walking the dog. It was lovely to come back to the barn, choose a dvd from the collection provided and snuggle up in comfort on the reclining sofa to watch on the large screen together. With fantastic facilities to ensure outdoor clothes could dry out we could make use of the hot tub before settling in for the night playing cards, making pancakes for supper and sampling a few glasses of wine. Shame the local pub was closed while we were there as it had such good reviews for the food. We would love to return! Thank you for having us and sorry it took me such a long time to write this!

The cobblers barn long weekend away was bought as a Christmas gift off all of our husband's, there was 10 of us in total. We had a lovely 4 day 3 night relaxing stay here, the barn it beautifully decorated, and fits in with the lovely surroundings, the barn is fully equipped with all the amenities needed.

We stayed at the Cobblers Barn in Feb 2019. We were celebrating a family members special birthday. We stayed 2 nights as a girls break and the final night with our partners. The barn is gorgeous with all amenities that you would need catered for. The barn has 4 bedrooms, all with large wardrobes and 2 en-suite. It is kept immaculately clean. The dining / kitchen area is a large space and is ideal for family meals for large groups. The living room is also very large with 3 x 3 seater sofa and 1 x 2 seater sofa. There are 2 TV's one in the dining room and one in the living room. WiFi is good, although can be a bit iffy with the signal upstairs. The garden area is ample for sitting outside with many doors to give access to the garden. The hot tub is great and a fun way to relax. The only query I have is that it says it has parking for up to 5 vehicles, but I could not see that unless there was parking I did not see. We parked on the road at the side of the house which is on a steep incline, so make sure your handbrakes is working lol. The Barn is a bit out of the way, we ordered a take away from a take away in Barnard castle on the first night. We found that the take-aways don't deliver but a company called Speedy will pick up your delivery and pay for it and deliver to you. The delivery charge to the barn was £8, and it does take about a 15 minute journey so food might need warming up. However about a 10 minute walk is The Crown pub which has excellent food choices. All in all we had a great stay at The Cobblers Barn and I would recommend and visit again.

What a place!! We have come home today and I just want to go back. Karen was so friendly, met ya i think he first day and took us through everything we needed to know. The hot tub was red hot and the whole house was just gorgeous. I don’t think i have ever slept so well, the beds were so comfy. The Kitchen was amazing and there was enough pots, pans and trays etc! We were on a girlie weekend and we do like a drink, we did have to be mindful of neighbours given it’s in a small village. We were allowed out the back after 10pm, so the hot tub couldn’t be used at that time, I thought it could be an issue but it wasn’t! And we really didn’t want to get any complaints from the neighbours because we would love to go back. Highly recommended for groups, families or couples, nice walks near by, views are stunning and there’s a pub not too far away. What else could you want! Thanks Karen we hope to see you again soon xx

We stayed as a group of 8 friends and had a fantastic weekend . We were welcomed by Karen and greeted at the cottage by the smell of freshly baked bread . Cobblers Barn had everything we wanted. It was beautifully decorated , spacious and well equipped . The location was perfect with stunning views all around . We had perfect weather which was an added bonus as we were able to walk to Middleton in Teasdale and enjoy the hot tub on our return . The log fire was cosy on an evening and the underfloor heating a luxury . We took advantage of the recommended caterer who came in to serve afternoon tea on Sunday which was lovely . We had a meal at the nearby pub 'The Crown' which was outstanding . We had the reassurance that Karen and her brother were only a call away should we have needed anything however everything was perfect . We would definately return and would not hesitate to recommend Coblers Barn .

This cottage was great for a girls weekend as all the bedrooms had twins, although one of the twin rooms beds were small. The directions and instructions were perfect and there was a lovely welcome of freshly baked bread. The wood burning stove was lovely as was the hot tub after being out for the day either walking/shopping We had a problem with the upstairs showers but owners were only a phone call away.

7 of us stayed in cobblers barn in November for 3 nights... it was amazing! We've tried a few different cottages/barns with hot tubs & this is definitely the best! Very warm welcome, all amenities you need & beds very comfy! Only slight downside is the barn sleeps 10 & hot tub seats 6 but still an amazing stay! Loved it so much we have booked again for November this year!! Can't wait

Stopped here for 2 weeks in August. 6 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. 2 lovely pubs within a few minutes walking distance. Lots of great walks nearby. The cottage is large with lots of room to ensure privacy. Hot tub was great. We loved the tranquility. Would definitely stop here again.

Stayed with a group of friends and thoroughly recommend this property.i have stayed in quite a few holiday rentals but I think this is probably the best. It is very well appointed - decor and furnishings are excellent and love the kitchen which is very well equipped. The hot tub is lovely. Only disappointment is not being allowed to use it after 10 at night. I do understand the reasons why (neighbours!) The pub in the village also does really good food. I definitely hope to return!

Cobblers Barn is amazing! From the peaceful surroundings and the cleanliness of the barn, to the fantastic hot tub, the comfort of the barn and how well equipped it is. Everything was just perfect.

We booked the Cobblers barn as a group of 8, consisting of 5 adults, 1 teenager, 2 under 6 years olds and our dogs. As a family we have stayed in several holiday cottages but we have to say this was by far the best!!!!! We were welcomed by a smiling Karen and shown around the property and given all the information we needed, she had also left us some basics, chocolates and fresh bread baking!!! what a lovely surprise! the cottage is more than well equipped, nothing is lacking, every utensil you could need is in the kitchen along with a massive range of dishes, pots and pans! previous visits to other cottages have always ended up in a visit to a shop to get some cooking utensil but not at the cobblers barn! the barn is well designed, beautifully laid out, clean, comfortable, welcoming and has lovely decor. The beds are very comfortable, bathrooms are luxurious and the underfloor heating throughout kept us all warm and cozy in the snow! The wood burning stove was great and we often sat the kids in front of it after they had been in the hot tub!! The hot tub tops it off, sitting there bubbling away looking at the hills and listening to the sheep baaaaa! was just lovely! there is plenty to do in the local area and a visit to the crown gastro pub is a must! we used the chef service and had an afternoon tea served to us in the cottage, this is a great idea and the food was wonderful!!! there is nothing we could fault, Alistair and Karen have it spot on. We cant wait to return as no other cottage would compare now!!!

A beautiful property that is of a very high spec, everything you need is under this roof. The owners are delightful and cannot do enough to help, and extremely welcoming on your arrival. The views from the hot tub are amazing. The village and surrounding areas are stunning and the local pub 'The Crown" has outstanding food, just a 5 minute walk away. This has been my hen weekend and couldn't have been any perfect. I will be back this time with my family, to let them enjoy it as much as I did. The cottage was amazing, well worth the money we paid. I couldn't fault anything. We had a very warm welcome from the owner who showed us around the cottage and gave us the history behind it. I like that as you could tell she was proud of what he had built. Also there was a few essentials there for us on arrival, tea , milk and fresh homemade bread!! The cottage it self was spot on. It was clean, it was welcoming and homely. The heated flooring in the room was a massive treat. We went to celebrate 2 birthdays and we wanted to go somewhere with a hot tub and with it being the middle of November we didn't move out of it all night. It was lovely and warm. I am definitely looking to go back next year, it's a great place for a group of friends or family to go. Really happy with my stay and it's made my birthday more memorable!!
