Not only is this property beautifully presented but it’s also fabulously stocked. We filled the house to the rafters and there was everything we needed to accommodate and feed 14 people. Two kettles, two 4 slice toasters, two dishwashers, a massive double fridge which we didn’t even fill despite catering for 14 people for 4 days. The cutlery drawer contained everything we needed including a pizza cutter and spaghetti spoon. The children (aged 7-16) were safe and happy, loving the table football game and a space upstairs that they used for themselves. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, even though we fitted for children into one room. The outdoor space was great for the two dogs. And lastly, when we had need to call the property owner (our fault, not theirs!) their response was quick and helpful (although actually getting in touch was a little tricky at first). (Wi-Fi signal isn’t great but what do you expect for a countryside retreat!) We didn’t venture far because of the weather but with our own stash of board games and a couple of jigsaws we found in a cupboard, we occupied everyone all weekend. If you do want to venture out, Forbidden Corner is a great family adventure just about 15 minutes away and Leyburn village looks like a lovely afternoon could be spent window shopping and eating. I would highly recommend this property!

We stayed here for a big family celebration and it was perfect. The house is beautiful and the surroundings are gorgeous, with amazing views. House had everything we could possibly need. Communication with Kim was excellent and she was very accommodating to our requests. Lovely touch of leaving us some champagne and flowers for our arrival. Would definitely stay again.

We had a magical stage at Deerclose West and after a very strange year with COVID 19 and lockdown, it made our year. The house was perfect for both adults and children with lots of space, the beds were super comfy and the views and surrounding areas were stunning. Kitchen was well equipped and everything spotlessly clean, we could not have asked for more. The kids loved playing in the garden and finding fairies in the waterfall. ( ) We loved it so much we are now on talk about returning. Kim (house manager) was fantastic especially with a strange year and having to adapt. She kept us informed at all stages of the booking and stay and was great at advising us on where to go for our visit. We can’t thank her enough.

We were totally blown away by the quality of the farmhouse and all the amenities that were provided. Everything was immaculate and the owners had thought of everything that we might need during our weekend break. They had even left us a couple of bottles of bubbly to help celebrate my birthday! The surrounding area was just breath-taking and we all loved looking out at the sights around us. Beautiful cottage, fun relaxing time was had by all and everyone said they would love to go back! Excellent value for money too! Thanks so much :)

Lovely clean, big house in a secluded location. Views are amazing. Perfect for extended family holidays. Key safes outside made it convenient if we got back home at different times. Two sitting rooms allowed us to spread out as well as all sitting together at the big kitchen table. Kitchen has more than enough pots, pans and glasses etc. Aga and electric oven, two fridge freezers and small freezer, really useful for a large number of people. No mobile phone coverage at all and intermittent Internet. Lots of stairs in kitchen but children, even toddler quickly got used to them. We queried the lack of bbq, a couple of days later one arrived ! Just a few niggles stopped it from being perfect, We had to spend an hour tidying up outside before we could let young children out. There were so many nettles and thistles growing on the path and the patio. Broken wooden chairs, and broken hand trowel, had to sweep up rubbish- cigarette ends from patio. We couldn't get into the fenced grassed area, the door out to it was locked and the little gate was overgrown with nettles. Grass was too overgrown anyway for the little ones. Gardener came to cut the grass at around 8 am the day before we went home, irritating when no one had been in the house the week before us. The pots outside were just full of weeds, not very pretty. A man came to service Aga, we managed to find one key but he had to unscrew a locked door to gain access to one of the the boiler rooms.

I went for my 60th birthday with my family and it was perfect. The accommodation and the surrounding area was just what we wanted. Thank you so much for the perfect place!

The property was absolutely perfect with enough space for our extended family. We have stayed in lots of self catering accommodation but this was by far the best equipped. The location was stunning and we all want to come back to explore the area further.

Lovely property with several living areas including a cosy living room with log fire. The Aga in the kitchen was impressive too.

We stayed here with a group of friends for my husbands 30th birthday and had the most perfect weekend. The cottage is stunning! It is beautifully maintained and cared for, offers fantastic scenery and is perfect for a large group. The large sitting room with wood burner was a great spot for games and socialising and it just up from the large dining room - big enough to seat all of us comfortably. The location is amazing, we enjoyed a lovely circular walk starting and finishing in the village and we're lucky enough to have a sprinkling of snow to add to the experience. Finally, the service we reviewed from start to finish was excellent taking away the stress of organising it. We are already planning when we can come again!

This farmhouse provided a lovely location for a celebration of both a 60th and 30th birthday. The space and facilities were good and the location and surroundings were perfect for the group of people who gathered, both young and not so young.

A magic peaceful location and the house had space to sit us all around the dining table which was great. A comfortable and practical house with amazing views.

An excellent cottage which turned out to be better than expected. It was an ideal spot for my extended family and we all enjoyed our stay there.

We have just enjoyed a stay here with a group of 7 adults and two children (aged 2 and a half and 11 months). This warm property ticked all the boxes. We were able to childproof one side, which had the added benefit of two bathrooms and a kitchen. The "adult" side had the large kitchen with Aga, and a comfortable gallery area with adjoining lounge. The huge dining table seated all of us with room to spare. No mobile signal at all, and wi-fi inconsistent. (That may in fact be an advantage ...) Large televisions in each lounge. Lovely, well-equipped property with fantastic views and walking from the door. Attractive Leyburn and Middleham nearby with shops, pubs and coffee shops. Many places of interest within comparatively short drives. Beautiful, and highly recommended.

16 of us booked to stay here for a weekend and part of the following week. The ages ranged from 9 to 70. Location - This has to be one of the most picturesque places in the Yorkshire dales, its very remote, nestled on a hillside just outside Horsehouse. The views are nothing short of spectacular. We went for a walk to the river and then followed its course for a few miles. Well worth the effort as the scenery was awesome. Accommodation - 16 of us stayed here quite comfortably, there were double bedrooms with en-suite and singles in a dorm like area. Plenty of WC's spread around. There are 2 kitchens, the main kitchen has every amenity imaginable, washer, dishwasher, fridge freezer etc.. with a smaller kitchen at the end of the cottage just off a huge double room that had basic facilities, there were a couple of fridges dotted around the place also for extra cooling space. The dining area is connected to the main kitchen and is huge with lots of space and seating. Upstairs was a chill out room where the Karaoke machine was set up for evening entertainment. No complaints from the neighbours as there aren't any :-). There were plenty of spaces to escape to if you wanted peace and quiet. The was plenty of parking available but was a bit of a bottleneck if you have several cars as we did. The cottage had plenty of charm and character and has everything you could possibly want for a fantastic break. All in all I would definitely recommend this cottage, its ideal for large groups of friends/family. I would like to return here in the summer.

The house was amazing and provided a great back drop for us to celebrate my mother's 80th Birthday. The layout is excellent with a wonderful area in the middle where everyone could congregate to eat and enjoy themselves, and there is still enough space where people could do different things if they wanted to. Overall this is an excellent cottage in a wonderful location and one that I would be tempted to hire again.

Lovely cottage for a group weekend away. Nice and rural with fantastic views, large but cosy cottage with real fires and comfy beds. We liked that there was two separate communal areas for different activities. The kitchen was great and we liked that there was one large table for us to all dine around under the high ceiling and mezzanine living area. There was also a fully functioning kitchen off one of the bedrooms which wasn't mentioned on the website that came in useful when we cooked a big roast dinner! Plenty of car parking space too.

Delightful quiet location with lovely views across the valley. We thought the house was fantastic; ideal for our party of twelve.
