Skipton is known as The Gateway to the Dales. The town is home to a high street with lively market, many tea rooms and an ancient castle, plus canal trips can be enjoyed or visit Embsay Steam Railway, which is just one mile away.
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
This cottage is so relaxing and you totally chill out, set on working farm overlooking canal. The property is brilliant and you get a home from home feel here. The bed is so comfortable you get a wonderful nights rest. The owner Jennette is lovely and welcoming and so friendly. This was our 2nd visit after being so impressed last time and this visit didnt disappoint, so much so, while on site we booked our 3rd stay for next year. Views from windows are beautiful and loved seeing the farm animals so close up.
Jess Cottage is a great family cottage. Two large en-suites with excellent powerful showers. Easy thermostatic controls so our children could work them on their own. Good size bedrooms. Very clean. Great location on the working farm with sheep and lambs right outside the garden. Fresh eggs available to buy daily! Easy 15-20min walk along the tow path to Skipton. Nice and warm. Will definitely be returning!
We staying in Jess Cottage for a weekend in December! Set on a working farm the cottages are very modern and spacious! Lovely spacious living room area as well as a kitchen/dining room area. 2 huge double bedrooms both with en-suite with fabulous views into the Yorkshire Dales! A beautiful open fireplace made it perfect against the winter weather! Very accommodating hosts. These cottages would be perfect for families, couples or friends!
The location was great. Property very clean and well equipped. Some good walks for the dogs. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
It was very spacious and well appointed. The en suite shower rooms were massive. The views from the picture window were amazing, with the canal and hills beyond. There were lovely walks along the canal - we saw curlews flying overhead one evening. Lots of historic places and gardens to visit were a short journey away. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
It was a lovely, spacious cottage with amazing views of the Dales and the owner was very friendly and helpful. A short walk along the canal tow path takes you into Skipton for a wide variety of shops, pubs, cafés, restaurants and a busy market. It's an ideal base for exploring the Dales and surrounding areas, or just sitting back and enjoying the views. As we were lucky enough to visit in March, we were surrounded by sheep and lambs.
