We booked last minute and were very pleased with the little gem we had found. It was cosy, quirky and welcoming, as were the owners. The basket of goodies was a lovely thought appreciated by all of us including the dogs as there was something in there for them as well. With a comfy bed and a “living flame” fire we would recommend this cottage for a lovely break at any time of year.

Stayed for 5 nights over New Year. On arrival we were met by the owners, a lovely couple called Mick and Aidie. They explained how everything worked and presented us with a surprise goodie basket containing treats for both us and our dog. Also a nice touch was the tea and coffee making facilities in our bedroom. Loved the area, nice walks and a pub and local shop within a few minutes walk. Spent two evenings including New Year's Eve in the Lord Nelson, where we and our dog were made very welcome by the friendly land lady and locals. Càught a bus from the village to Halifax where the newly renovated Piece Hall is well worth a visit. Here you'll find specialist little shops to browse around. Within its walls we also found a little gem, G's Cakes, a cosy cafe serving cakes to die for and the owner made our little dog welcome, we would definitely recommend this for a coffee stop. Summing up we had a great break and would certainly recommend the Cottage in the Sky and hope to return in the not too distant future.

Lovely cottage and very welcoming hosts. The cottage has a wonderful view over the valley. The owners were brilliant and could not have done any more to make my stay any better, they clearly want guests and their dogs to enjoy themselves. A beautiful, comfortable, very well cared for cottage.

I strongly recommend Cottage in the Sky to everyone who is looking for a cosy, clean, calm and welcoming place to stay for a few days. The landscape is beautiful, the cottage has everything you need. The warm and friendly welcome from the owner makes you feel at home from the very first minute. It is amazing how you keep finding, all over the cottage, small, caring details to make your stay enjoyable, in and out of the cottage. Thank you to the owner for such memorable days in Yorkshire.

The owners were very welcoming, met us there to show us everything. Provided a lovely welcome hamper and were very helpful. I forgot my phone charger when I left and that night Mick (the owner) phoned me to ask my address and put it in the post the very next day! Couldn't do enough for you.

This was most definitely a 5 star cottage not a 4 star. It was enchanting and magical, just like the owners who gave us the most heart warming and caring welcome before leaving us in privacy to enjoy our holiday. They gave us the assurance that they could be contacted by phone at any time should any problems arise. This is by far the best holiday cottage/accommodation that we have ever been fortunate enough to stay in. It surpassed all expectations and we have never experienced such genuine warmth and hospitality ever. A truly wonderful experience. Thank you so much.

Beautiful views, quiet peaceful place, great location. Charming little hide away .

The cottage is in the quiet village of Luddenden with good access to the Yorkshire Dales for plenty of walks. The pub, The Lord Nelson, provides a warm welcome, good beer and a great Pie and Pint night for £6.50! The cottage itself is compact but had all that we needed for our weeks stay. Finding somewhere with a bath these days is quite a bonus after a days walking too! The owners provided a warm welcome and the unexpected welcome pack was really appreciated. Great views of the surrounding hills can be had from all the windows too.
