The quaint village of Ballycastle is located near the beautiful rugged coastline of north Mayo, and is superbly situated just a short distance from the lovely Stags of Broadhaven (600 million year-old rocks). Ballycastle is an easy drive from the lively towns of Ballina and Crossmolina.
The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.
Quiet, private ,spacious, comfortable and homely cottage. Lovely views of the coast, especially at the back of the garden up a small hill where you can see Downpatrick Head and sea stack. Comfortable beds. Slightly quirky showers. We had the company of a wee mostly white feral cat through the week who regularly visited for a bowl of tuna in oil. Very shy but sweet. Gerry the owner was kind and welcoming. Recommended.
We stayed here last October and had a great time. The house is spacious and very clean with all the utilities you need for a short break away from home. The highlight though has to be the location, so close to the ballycastle high street in one direction and the beach in the other. A perfect place from which to explore the scenic coastline! We hope to return soon...
We loved our stay at Atlantic View. It was very clean and warm with great views and everything we needed was provided. A short walk into the village or down to a secluded beach. The owner was very friendly and helpful - we hope to return with friends.
We loved our stay at Atlantic View, very clean and toasty warm (oil central heating and open fire in the sitting room and wood stove in the kitchen) with great views and everything we needed was provided. We stayed in Atlantic view in july. It was great the house was a fantastic size and had everything that we required. The house was well kept and clean and the owner Gerry came and welcomed us. Having travelled round the south of ireland you are just left the keys and you don't see anyone at some properties, so it was nice to meet the person who owned the house and he made it quite clear we could contact him at anytime if we needed anything. We have two young boys and the ground around the house was great as they had plenty of room to play and the beach was at the end of the lane which took about 10 mins to walk to which was great. When you opened the door the view was breath taking. We enjoyed our stay so much we are considering staying next year again.
The property was a great size to accommodate my family and we loved the location as it was close to the beach and the village. The owner was more than helpful and always made sure if we needed anything we could contact him at any time which was nice. We enjoyed it so much we are already considering a return next year.
