Ruthin 3.5 miles. This detached holiday cottage is situated down a private lane, a mile from the North Wales village of Clocaenog and just 3.5 miles from Ruthin. Originally an old shippon, this lovely cottage boasts traditional elements alongside a raft of modern features, including a sumptuous hot tub in the lawned garden. As you enter through the kitchen, you are immediately struck by the quality of the accommodation. Walk through into the large sitting room with its fabulous woodburner nestling in a brick fireplace and you know that you are going to feel right at home. The master bedroom leads off the sitting room, and the family bathroom is also on the ground floor, whilst upstairs are two cosy bedrooms. At the rear of the house is a large conservatory, which has underfloor heating and from where you can keep an eye on the children as they play in safety on the climbing frame and the swings, in the spacious lawned garden. Alternatively, sit and relax with a good book as you watch the sun go down, or soak up the lovely views of the surrounding countryside and the Clwydian mountain range. Undoubtedly, the most popular part of the property is going to be the fabulous hot tub, where you can let your cares wash away as you sit beneath the stars in this idyllic and peaceful location. The small village of Clocaenog is best known for the magnificent forest that bears its name and which runs to forty square miles. Pull on your walking boots or get out the mountain bikes and explore the woodland. On the far side of the forest is Llyn Brenig, a beautiful reservoir which has a popular visitor centre and a wide selection of good walks. The market town of Ruthin is just a short drive and is home to a wide selection of high street and independent stores, as well as a fine selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants. A superb family holiday home in beautiful North Wales countryside.

The hilltop town of Ruthin lies to the north of Llangollen via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. The town is picturesque with attractive half-timbered buildings, mainly clustered around St Peter’s Square.

Beyond amazing!! Best holiday home we’ve ever been too. We went for New Years Eve, spectacular! Could see fireworks from the hot tub. Can not put into words how beautiful. Secure large garden for dogs, stars at night super clean. Will be back 100%. Lovely host who even left Prosecco and chocolates.

I booked Plas Cwtta for a 30th birthday celebration week and it did not disappoint. I stayed there with 2 friends but this cottage is suitable for anyone; families, couples and friend groups. It is a lovely country cottage in a beautiful peaceful location. It was well presented and clean when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked with all the equipment I needed for cooking a variety of meals as well. The hot tub was great and easy to use, it stayed hot the entire week. The town of Ruthin is a 5 minute drive away where you can find some nice pubs, bars and restaurants and a few shops, as well as a supermarket nearby. Whilst we were there, there was no end to the number of country walks available to us, including some from the front door, you don't have to drive to find a nice walk. We also took a trip to Bewts-y-Coed which was only a 30 minute drive away, a very easy drive and a beautiful place to visit, I would recommend a visit there if you are looking for something to do. The owners of the cottage live in the house next door so they are easily contactable if there are any issues. I would highly recommend staying here if you want a relaxing countryside retreat

Lovely views and secure garden Nice little house, short drive to ruthin which has some amenities, supermarket, little shops. Lots of outdoor pursuits and the North Coast within 1 hours drive. Hot tub was warm and great at night. The only downfall for me was the king-size bed mattress which I did not find comfortable, felt the base below. Great owners and contactable if ant problems. I would recommend this cottage.

The property was wonderful and great facilities and very comfy beds. The location is very rural so would recommend researching what to do before you go! There are plenty of walks and pubs within a short drive and the owners sent over some great recommendations. I would recommend checking out the three loggerheads pub, there is a lovely walk across the road too. The cottage has a large secure garden which our dogs loved and it gave us peace of mind to know they couldn't get into any trouble. You are surrounded by fields and the dogs loved our neighbors the sheep! There is also a hot tub which we enjoyed while doing some star glazing! My little also loved the play set in the garden, prefect for younger kids!

A wonderfully quiet place not too far from all the amenities you need. The cottage is very well equipped and the enclosed large garden fantastic for dogs and kids ( with a very nice hot tub). We had the pleasure to meet one of the owners, Adam, a lovely bloke and we would strongly recommend this large piece of Welsh heaven to anyone that needs to get away from it all and just relax.

We stayed at the cottage for a birthday celebration and to visit family in Cheshire. The property is extremely comfortable and warm with lovely bedding and super comfy beds. It is in a rural location so very peaceful with lovely views and very private. The cottage has a large secure garden and the large hot tub a few steps from the rear conservatory is fantastic. Perfect on a clear night for star gazing. Everything you could need to enjoy your stay here is provided by the lovely owners who live a little further down the drive- so on hand if you need them. Can’t wait to return!

Great location, views, space. Beautifully appointed, immaculate and with a hot tub - what more could you ask. Huge garden for kids to play, and plenty of space to find some solace too. Owners are warm and welcoming and keen to ensure you have a great stay. Hot tub was a massive bonus - we do like a hot tub. We have learnt to respect them though having stayed in the alps with one that couldn't retain temperature - when the owners pointed out our kids were putting snow it made me realise the importance of ensuring you monitor kids around them - what goes in stays in, it's not rocket science and they are not magic time machines ! Sykes has loads of lovely reviews on this property, if you are at all unsure check them out.

The cottage lived up to expectations. It was spacious well equipped and extremely clean. I stayed with a few girl friends and it provided great social space as well as rooms to have a quiet moment. We found the hot tub clean and with plastic glasses a fantastic place for fizz and chatting. We would definitely book again.

We loved staying at Plas Cwtta - the rooms were spacious, clean and everything seemed brand new - we loved that there was a huge amount of outside space for our energetic three year old little boy; and at the end of the parenting day my husband and I were grateful to have such comfortable beds to fall into! An overall excellent stay and will be booking again in the next few months for sure.

What a beautiful place, unfortunately, the hot tub was filthy and hadn't had its filter changed for three weeks when we got there. I had to scrub skin and grime from the sides. the whole family contracted eye infections I can only assume this was down to the unhygienic hot tub.we, only went in once. despite the fact the owner's were fully aware we had an infant with us, they had no idea where the travel cot was, when we found it it was dirty and broken.we had to go into mold to buy one. over disappointed, dirty.

A wonderful traditional style cottage in a secluded location, only 10 minutes from Ruthin. The cottage was clean and tidy on arrival. The Hot tub was the perfect way to start and end each day - we were hardly out of it for the whole week - and it's a fantastic place relax and watch the stars from! We would be delighted to return to the same area and the same cottage in the future.

We loved the cottage, the location, the peace and the hot tub. The large fully enclosed garden was great for our dog with lots of room for him to run around. If our grand children had been with us they would have loved the play equipment and Wendy house!

Rated by Mrs Macdonald reviewed on 9th July 2016

The cottage was well located for touring North Wales and was down a secluded lane, with only the owners house nearby. There was no road noise even when we were outside. The conservatory, garden and hot tub were exceptional. The cottage itself was cosy and the owners were very welcoming. We would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to family and friends.

A lovely cottage which was very comfortable, particularly the beds, we all slept very well. The hot tub was a real bonus and gave a real sense of holiday luxury. The underfloor heating in the conservatory was perfect for the mornings, drinking coffee whilst admiring the views of the garden. The location was fantastic, very rural with loads of wildlife and sheep. We hope to return in the next couple of years for another holiday.

A fantastic cottage bursting with character, a good old mixed with the new. The hot tub in the garden was spot on after a days walking! The owners were so attentive and friendly, couldn't of asked for more.

This house was absolutely gorgeous. There was loads of room and plenty of places to sit and talk. The underfloor heating in the conservatory was a delightful bonus and the hot tub was great. Everyone was very impressed by the house, with particular mention to the décor and upkeep. A beautiful area with plenty of places to walk to/from.

Plas Cwtta is honestly wonderful. We stayed in October with our extended family and it catered for all. The accommodation is spacious and very comfortable. The cottage is easily reached and surrounded by stunning views. The gardens are beautiful and the friendly owners have really thought of how to make it feel home from home. Garden is very large, secure and safe and our little boy and dog spent hours of fun out there.

The cottage is beautiful and set in a lovely quiet location. The hot tub was a treat to return back to after a day out walking the dog and visiting the sights which Wales has to offer. It is the best cottage by far we have stayed in and would certainly recommend and return.

We had a truly fabulous week at Plas Cwtta. It was a beautifully appointed cottage, a real home from home and we found it incredibly relaxing. The owners live nearby, are easily contactable and were very helpful. The massive garden was perfect for our children and the hot tub was a particularly huge hit! We are definitely planning a return visit to this property!

Rated by Mrs Cass reviewed on 8th September 2015

The cottage was beautiful and in such a lovely idyllic setting. I was delighted to find the place so charming and clean, and everything was of an excellent standard. The beds were so comfortable and the furniture was lovely, most looked new. The place is a lot bigger than it looks on the website and I think it deserves more photos to show it off. The garden is huge and the conservatory was so lovely to spend days and evenings in. The hot tub was large and we enjoyed some time most days in there. This place deserves to be 5 Star. WE WILL BE BACK.
