Lovely house.. Well equipped.. Water takes absolutely ages to get hot for showers and nowhere near hot enough. Freezer perhaps a little too small for a family. Note- you have to pay extra to use washing machine or logs for fire apart from the 5 logs provided. TV remote not working properly.. But house very clean and linen fresh. Could do with a lick of paint in hallway and repairs in master bedroom. Cute little welcome basket. More warmer blankets on beds would be a boost in colder months.
A wonderful location and the cottage is good . Bedrooms sublimely comfortable but all bathrooms downstairs and despite lovely kitchen / diner the TV lounge struggles to accommodate 3 people never mind 4 adults and 2 children. No instructions on how anything works and hot water takes ages to come through.
Ok, so I was looking for a cottage that ticked quite a few boxes. It needed to have all the following: * An open fire * Quiet Location * wifi * pet friendly without those pet smells * clean * Not too far from my home Chasewood Farm Cottage ticked all of these boxes and more. I booked the cottage as a surprise for my husbands birthday. He is absolutely obsessed with open fires so this was perfect! I knew the area so it was easy to find but the instructions were very good. It is in an extremely quiet area and the wildlife sounds were all you could hear. When we arrived it was very dark but we had no trouble getting in the property with the instructions that I was given. When we went into the lounge it was spot on and so cosy. During our stay we did not need to use the second lounge with TV as we just sat watching the fire! The three bedrooms are all a good size and the views are spectacular! The bedrooms are also nice and warm and bedding is spotless. There are two showers and the hot water was always readily available. We took our two teenagers and although the wifi was quite slow, they never complained and were happy to just sit and chat in front of the fire! (they are normally glued to Xbox!!). I chose this particular cottage because it was close to my home and as it was my husbands birthday we wanted to be near the Link Centre in Swindon to watch the wildcats! BUT regardless, this cottage was perfect and we are already looking to return. We had the added bonus of seeing a female woodpecker, pheasants, Red Kites and heard frogs!! There was only one downside to our stay and that is, it cost me a fortune in logs!! I think I took several bags with me and also bought some from the cottage owner! But this was the reason for my booking and husband had a fab birthday albeit he has now come home sulking! Thank you
Stayed here in August with partner and children. Great location and very comfortable cottage. Location is peaceful and encourages relaxation. Would return.
A lovely, spacious house with plenty of room for the children. The setting was beautiful. Good location.
