Picturesque rolling Fens, unspoilt beaches, and pretty waterways - East Anglia is a dream holiday destination. Norfolk offers beaches, saltmarshes and quaint villages whilst equally as charming are the coast and countryside of Suffolk.
The cottage is lovely and the location is very peaceful and secluded with lovely walks in the doorstep. However the one issue that ended up ruining our holiday was the amount of flies in the cottage. I appreciate it’s on a working farm but the kitchen was constantly filled with a ridiculous amount of flies which made us feel very uncomfortable eating or preparing food. There were 2 toddlers in our party and the flies would literally crawl all over them as they sat in their highchair. Unfortunately this ruined our holiday and means we wouldn’t go back which is a shame as apart from this we had a lovely time. We tried keeping all windows and doors shut (despite the heat), keeping the kitchen clean and tidy and leaving no food out and using the fly spray provided by the cottage. We even bought a fly swat but no matter what we did still the flies would invade! Ruined what was otherwise a lovely time.
