Reviews

Views from this cottage are outstanding. Loved the new kitchen, fully equipped for our families needs. Great to have a second toilet downstairs and loved the cosy bedrooms upstairs with my favourite coomb ceilings. Perfect loch side walks outside our door with wildlife to die for. To finish off a splendid meal at the Kintail Lodge Hotel. We'll be back.

I have no idea where the previous reviewer (micky92764) was coming from. I recently visited TIGH A PHAILEAN and was completely blown away with the place. Kitchen has everything you need and was so clean on arrival as was the rest of the house. The house itself is fantastic and well equipped with everything you need for your stay. (It even had midge repellant spray for us to use). Beds are very comfortable. The road to the house is not the best, but that is nothing to do with the owners but it is fine if you take your time and stop to admire the fantastic views across the loch. I love the location and the freedom of being able to walk out the door and straight onto the countryside which is spectacular. Otters and seals are regular visitors on the shore in front of the house which, as far as I am concerned, is a great holiday location for anyone who likes watching wildlife including eagles and other birds. So, if you enjoy getting away from the crowds for a completely relaxing break in a lovely little house with all the amenities you need, this is the place for you and your family. I cant recommend it enough.

Stayed two days in summer. "Lochside" really means beside a tidal seaweed patch that isn't nice to look at, not useful for boats, and uninhabitable with midges in summer, having driven the lengths of Scotland I've never seen midges like it at this location. Location is on the other side of the loch so its an age to the shop in reality on bad roads, one takeaway that was always closed while we were there. Cabin has open fire so stinks of smoke, no attempts to clean by owners, who will expect you to clean for them, or charge your card without permission to do their job. Beds are tiny and hard. Decor is 70s esq, nice thick carpets to absorb the musky smell of the fire. "award winning" we all found amusing on arrival. Kids hated it as TV wouldn’t work and Wi-Fi was awful. (I know I Know but kids like Wi-Fi, reality) Trades on location but its just another rental on a row of rentals. A typical skyes property tbh should know that by now. Avoid in future. Was charged hundreds of £s without consent for a wonky picture, a ring on a coaster (I'm not making this up) and crumbs on a floor. Apparently cleaners in this area are not very efficient. Avoid like the plague, Scotland has so many cheaper nicer places.
