Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere. The village is probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found", plus any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family have been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century.
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
Very well turned out property, with a well appointed kitchen suitable for self catering. Views are stunning!! However this property should NOT be rented from November to April, due to the heating entirely inadiquit. It is preset to 19 degree mornings and evenings and 12 degrees the rest of the day (which it doesn't even click on during the day as it's standard set temp is so low). The rooms are large in height and single glazed, although there is a fan fire in the lounge which can heat the room comfortable, the kitchen and other bedrooms are very cold! So much so that we had to purchase a fan heater to purely heat the dining room/kitchen areas during mornings and evenings. The hoover we have used quite a few times in our stay, but it smells terribly on usage and needs cleaned out and washed which isn't for us to do.
This is an exceptional apartment with the highest quality furniture and fittings. It is in a quiet location very well placed for walking into Grasmere, the Wordsworth Museum and close to the route up to Alcock Tarn and the Coffin Trail. We would certainly go back there.
A lovely apartment in a multi occupied large old house. The scenery overlooking Grasmere lake was superb and the garden was in full bloom with rhododendrons. There were seats on the terrace where one could relax with a glass of wine after a day in the fells. There are good pubs locally, serving good pub food. The quality of the furnishings was exceptional and I would certainly recommend this holiday let.
Luxury in the lakes. Views spectacular. Easy walks to Grasmere and Alcock Tarn.
We found this apartment perfect and enjoyed every second of our break, was situated in a lovely place and it had a real sense of space. The cottage had all required amenities and we would definitely like to return to White Moss Cottage. Thanks
A very homely and comfortable stay with great views.
White Moss is an excellent location for walking and a high standard of accommodation with beautiful views from sitting room.
The cottage was well appointed and presented. Spotless on arrival. Situated in a perfect location and beautifully secluded. Lovely gardens and access to the fells with views of Grasmere. Highly recommended.
The cottage was fabulous, extremely clean and in a great location. The kitchen had everything you needed and more. All the furnishings were of a very high standard.
The accommodation was lovely, very homely and equipped to a very high standard. The grounds are beautiful as is Grasmere, especially in October when the colours are stunning. We would love to return next year.
