Accommodation Details

Mostly ground floor. One mezzanine king-size double bedroom. Small shower room with shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove.

This beautiful, stone-built, little detached cottage is next to the owners’ own home, in the heart of the traditional Derbyshire village of Parwich. The cottage is perfect for couples seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, or keen to pull on their walking boots and discover the beauty of this marvellous region. You enter the cottage immediately into the open plan living space, which has a vaulted ceiling, beams, a woodburning stove and is overlooked by the mezzanine bedroom. This gorgeous little cottage just oozes style; the sitting room has parquet flooring and leads to the well-equipped kitchen and dining area, which in turn leads to the shower room. Upstairs, the mezzanine bedroom is a delight, with more exposed character beams, a king-size double bed and lovely views over the vegetable patch and to the village beyond. Outside is a lovely walled garden, completely private with furniture making it the perfect spot for an evening drink or a cup of tea in the morning sunshine! The Sycamore Inn is a short stroll up the road, a traditional, friendly country pub serving food that also doubles as the village shop! Situated in the south of the Peak District National Park, the property is a short distance from the Dovedale National Nature Reserve and Carsington Water, making it a great base for walking. For cyclists, the Manifold Trail is a great way to explore the countryside, while a little further afield, Chatsworth House is easy to find in the car. With the delights of the Derbyshire Dales within easy reach, The Studio in Parwich is the perfect romantic bolt hole for couples exploring this charming area, all year round.

Surrounded by lush green countryside, Parwich is a charming village which dates back to Saxon times. It has a picturesque old church, village green, a country pub and a village hall. The area is a delight for cyclists and walkers, with the nearby Manifold Trail, a tarmac path that follows the old Leek to Manifold light railway, providing the perfect opportunity to explore the countryside. The route has been open since the 1930s, when the railway closed, and was probably the first disused railway to be utilised in this way. Nearby are the lovely villages of Alstonefield, Ilam and Brassington, and activities such as golf, horse riding and sailing are all within a seven mile radius. Chatsworth House and Carsington Waters are also close by, making Parwich a great base for a family holiday.

Reviews

My wife and I had this lovely cottage for a long weekend without the kids. the village is a nice little remote village without mobile signal which is just wahat we wanted. The accommodation is spot on and all things ahve been considered. The owners Tracey_Ann and Simon have done a cracking job and are very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. The local pub served good food and good beer with a relaxed atmosphere, all locals were friendly and spoke to us. We will be returning for another weekend in the future definitely.
