Berrynarbor 1.7 miles. An interesting cottage on a 100-acre farm on the spectacular North Devon coast, surrounded by green meadows and overlooking the sea from its high vantage point above Watermouth Castle. Formerly the holiday home of the actor Terry-Thomas, and with a welcoming feel throughout, this quirky cottage tells a story. The ground floor sitting room is comfy while the kitchen is modern and colourful. However the focus of the cottage is sure to be the spacious first floor bedroom, with a 6’ super king-size bed and amazing sea views across the channel. The cottage is adjacent to the owners’ farmhouse but has its own private lawn with seating and sea views. Guests are welcome to wander around the grassy 100-acre farm, which also has a discreet area for camping lower down the hillside, hidden from view but with a useful shop offering freshly baked croissants to order. The cottage is a five minute walk from the coastal path, and a couple of miles from the unspoilt village of Berrynarbor, with a welcoming pub and village shop. At nearby Ilfracombe, Damian Hirst's 'Verity' statue rests above the picturesque harbour, and the bustling seafront has many good-quality restaurants and bars along with small independent shops. Explore Watermouth Castle, the award-winning Tunnels beach and Combe Martin Wildlife Park, all of which are close to the cottage. The dramatic North Devon coastline will appeal to walkers and a fifteen minute drive from Berrynarbor is the 3-mile long sandy beach at Woolacombe which holds the 'England for Excellence Gold Award' for best family resort and was voted the Best British Beach in the Mail On Sunday. A romantic retreat with breathtaking views.

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
Quiet, warm, cosy and within easy reach of Exmoor National Park, SouthWest Coast Path, Lynton & Barnstaple Steam Railway and lots of local attractions. Low Covid area and the local businesses had all stepped up to the mark with excellent takeaways, socially distanced facilities and everyone serving wearing PPE. Any negatives? Internet was a bit clunky and the TV couldn't keep up - had to snuggle up and use a Smartphone between us
Beautiful sea views from the cottage from both the lounge and the bedroom. It was very relaxing, but also a good base for seeing local attractions. Some parts of the cottage had a Mediterranean feel e.g. the staircase. It was lovely and clean and we would definitely recommend it.
Wonderful views and access to coastal paths.Very peaceful away from the madding crowd. An excellent 7ft bed!
A charming and beautifully furnished historic cottage with stunning views and friendly owners. It is ideally situated for exploring the area. Highly recommended.
Liked the position of the cottage, the comfortable bed and the outstanding view.
It was perfect for us. Quite isolated, but close enough to towns for shopping and plenty of walks nearby. Fantastic views and a warm, characterful cottage.
Whatever the weather we enjoyed the fantastic view. In the midst of the wettest winter on record we were lovely and snug in a well equipped and wonderfully warm cottage.
The cottage and area were perfect.
