A lovely cottage for a romantic break and as it is set on the ground floor it may be suitable for those with limited mobility. Winkhill is a tiny hamlet close to the Peak District National Park, two miles from the village of Waterhouses. Waterhouses has shops, pubs and eateries, and also offers access to the Manifold Trail, a long, flat track along the former railway line, much used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The Alton Towers Theme Park is a short drive away, and the rest of the Peak District National Park is on the doorstep.

This was our second visit to Swallow Cottage. It is an amazing place, the cottage has all you need for a peaceful holiday. Our dog Bear loves the enclosed garden. Owners Darren and Louise are amazing couple, nothing is to much for them. We have booked recently for a week 1st March impulse booking, we also have another week in August. We highly recommend Swallow Cottage.
We really enjoyed staying in this clean,cosy, well equipped cottage.We liked the dark stone floor tiles with underfloor heating ,the white walls with nice artwork and a modern clock hanging on them,,the wooden doors and beams .The huge white bath was lovely.The wifi ,tv and radio were all useful. The friendly owners lived nearby should one need help.
