This 17th century, stone-built terraced cottage is located close to the centre of the attractive town of Kirkby Stephen, near to all the town’s amenities and the railway station. This historic, cosy cottage dates back to 1671 and is full of original features with beams and latch doors, but also has modern conveniences with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. The sitting room has beams and a woodburning stove and is a cosy room to enjoy after a day exploring the surrounding area. Both the sitting room and kitchen have a dining area and are tastefully and thoughtfully decorated to suit the history of the cottage. To the front of the cottage is a lovely sunny lawned garden or you can step into the back patio to enjoy the evening sun with an alfresco meal. The comfortable bedrooms have added character with beams, sloping ceilings and views to the fells from the second floor bedroom. This is an ideal cottage for family and friends wishing to explore this stunning area, with the market town amenities of Kirby Stephen a stone’s throw away with a choice of pubs, cafés and antique shops. This lovely cottage is an excellent base for exploring the Eden valley and there are walking tours available from the door. The glorious Howgills are close by and the famous coast to coast walk devised by Alfred Wainwright passes the town.
