The small market town of Market Drayton stands on the River Tern in north Shropshire. With many excellent shops, pubs and restaurants to discover, this is a wonderful area to explore. The Shropshire Union Canal and the Regional Cycle Route 75 run through the town, making this town an excellent base for walkers and cyclists.
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
Could not have asked for more. Beautiful cottage in rural location. Spacious and comfortable. Extensive facilities to cater for all needs. Hospital and welcoming host.
Omg what a beautiful, amazing property. Julie and Andrew are lovely, very helpful and have thought of everything with this property. It's so peaceful here. Lots of animals to see every day. Just an amazing property. Weve had a great 7 days here.
Lake View Cottage is very spacious; we particularly liked the mezzanine lounge. Very peaceful with lovely countryside views.
An excellent property with brilliant owners who went out of their way to give us a warm and friendly welcome set in a brilliant location with fantastic views for peace and quiet that is within easy reach of plenty of things to do and see. The property is as welcoming as any home and such a great place to be able relax and enjoy.
An absolutely brilliant weekend. The property is gorgeous, so comfortable and well furnished. It is set in the most beautiful grounds. The owners were so welcoming and helpful. The kitchen, dining and living room areas were great for socialising and cooking together. The bedrooms and numerous bathrooms were very comfortable with incredible views. It was the perfect location for a luxury getaway. We didn't want to leave!
We loved our stay at Lake View Cottage. The location was peaceful and we felt at home straight away. The cottage is kept lovely and warm, and the open-plan is great for young children. We couldn't have been happier with our stay and it was a great family cottage.
The owners had gone to great lengths to make the house lovely for us. The décor was great, everything was scrupulously clean, the beds were comfy, the kitchen well-equipped, and the underfloor heating kept us really toasty. We loved the spacious feel of the open plan living space too, and of course that breathtaking view, complete with festive flock of sheep and donkeys! It all added up to a memorably magical Christmas.
The best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in, it was first class in every way. In a wonderful location and the owners were very friendly, helpful and kind. A perfect holiday.
We nicknamed this property 'the mansion', we all agreed that we have never been in anything like it! It was tremendous, so bright and warm. We were all disappointed when it was time to leave and are definitely going back next year.
An amazing house with stunning gardens, couldn't fault this place at all. In a beautiful setting with lots to do nearby. 2 adults & 3 kids very had a very happy British holiday. 5 star!
Both Andrew & Julie are very hospitable and exceptionally accommodating. We arrived late due to traffic and road closures, Julie was kind enough to agree to sign for our supermarket delivery order. Once we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Andrew, just before Julie arrived and gave us an equally warm welcome. As we entered the cottage it has such a lovely warm almost chalet like feel about it. We were given a tour and told there was a welcome basket for us. Butter, bread, crisps, biscuits, tea, coffee and milk. Perfect for a quick snack and a cup of tea! We explored the place and found it to be really nice. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. We had even been given a cake to welcome us with a note telling us it was a Victoria sponge that was wheat and gluten free. Absolutely delicious! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Follow the directions that Julie sends out and it will lead you to the farm and the cottage.
