Reviews

Lovely cozy cottage. Very well equipped. Dogs loved their welcome pack as did the humans. Upper decked area of the garden is lovely to sit with a coffee. Although the initial step to the lower garden is steep it isn't too bad and accessible by most. The dogs loved the lower part to sniff around. The cottage is in an excellent location to access fantastic local walks. Wooler has so much to offer. All coastal attractions require a very short car journey. Communication with host is 1st class. Belinda the caretaker is on hand to assist with any issues, we had none.

Just returned from a lovely stay in the cottage. Spacious yet cosy. Owner was so welcoming with a call to us beforehand and loads of helpful reading material and recommendations. There was a lovely welcome of fruit and scones and even treats for our dogs. Although there is no direct parking there are places really near and it’s not an issue. Wooler is a pretty little town with nice pubs and we had a lovely meal at Milan Italian. Excellent scenery locally with Wooler common for walking and the Northumberland coast a short drive away.

Juat come back from a relaxing week away .Nice area .Just a heads up if you Coeliac and wanting a homemade cake or any cake no pre packed .Youll have to bake your own a nothing round about .Suggeated to local chip shop to get a small fryer nd keep stuff seperate .As had to have either have sausage nd chip or grilled fish. Coop have 2 small shelves for gluten free food . Plus therea a small rubbish bin .Then you have to take your rubbish out in the morning or anytime and distribute it anywhere in village bins .Not ideal when therea a family .We struggled with bin and there waa only me mum and youngest at 13 years .So if your a full fam of 4 or with toddlers i dont know how your gonna manage mx

Welcoming, clean and spacious home a stones throw from the village centre. Both the house and the village have everything you could need for a relaxing break. The gracious owner was full of local info via phone if we needed it. A perfect location for ramblers being a few yards from St Cuthbert's Way, and dog owners being a mile or so from Wooler Common. There are several pubs in the village but we only ventured into The Black Bull and saw no reason to go anywhere else! A rental you won't regret I'm sure!

Had such a great stay at York Cottage, lovely clean, spacious and well equpt. Close to lots of fab tourist attractions and plenty of places to eat/have a drink in Wooler itself. Brilliant place for dogs too, surrounded by countryside walks. Dogs are made to feel welcome in the cottage and everywhere in the area. Jeff and Issie the owners are so helpful with useful local knowledge. Couldn't fault this cottage at all, we will definitely be back.

This was our first experience of a holiday cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Instructions for using the central heating and the gas fire were clear and easy, and as soon as all our bags were in we were all cosy in the lovely little lounge. The bookshelves were filled with something for anyone, young or older, including beautiful guide books to the area. We were all warm comfortable and slept well. York Cottage is just off the main street in Wooler, set in beautiful countryside and was a lovely base for us to go exploring Northumbria. We would definitely go back.
