A beautifully decorated and well appointed spacious cottage, the perfect home from home. All 5 occupants during our stay were sad to return home! The photographs do not convey just how large it is. It is located down a private road in very beautiful and quiet surroundings. The lovely little village of Ashover is an easy 10 minute walk away. It served as the ideal base for our adventures not being far from anything we wanted to see or do. The owner was very friendly and we were very touched to receive a welcome basket on arrival. I took advantage of a 10% discount on a delicious Full English Breakfast at the Marsh Green Farm Shop whilst awaiting the arrival of the rest of my party. I also purchased some delicious locally reared meat joints for us to cook in the well appointed kitchen. Everything we needed was provided: Bedding; Towels; Toiletries; TV; WiFi (albeit often temperamental at letting us connect which we mentioned to the owner); Fridge; Freezer; Microwave; Cooker; Kettle; Toaster; Kitchen Equipment; Books; DVD's; & Games. The beds were extremely comfortable and we all had experienced excellent quality of sleep throughout our stay, in fact we struggled to get the children out of their beds some mornings! We very much hope to return one day and I highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore the area.
Wow what a find! Beautiful converted barn, very high spec, beautiful decor. Everything has been thought of. Great location! Would love to live here! Peaceful surroundings and great views, a real get away from it all.
Lovely little cottage and would definitely recommend it. It’s very clean and looks newly decorated and has everything you need including washing machine/dryer, dishwasher and plenty of bathrooms and toilets! Bedrooms are a great size and so is the living room. Only slight downsize is the kitchen is small and there is a dining room table in it which is far too big. Once people are sat around it, it’s a bit of a squeeze. A fold away table would be better. But that’s just nit picking!! Would definitely come back here again and recommend it to others. Owners also left us some milk, a lovely cake and bottle of wine as a welcoming gift :)
It was immaculately clean with quality furnishings/décor and comfortable beds. There were two great showers and plenty of seating in the living room.
Fantastic accommodation and very friendly owner. Very well equipped cottage. Peaceful and beautiful scenery.
We loved the cottage, it was everything it was advertised as being and more; the standard was excellent. We loved that there were numerous footpaths that all led back to the village and we had fun exploring them. There were three local pubs in walking distance and the two that we visited served excellent food, were very dog friendly and had a good atmosphere. We had a brilliant time and would definitely like to return.
The whole place has been finished to a high standard and the personal letter and welcome pack was a lovely surprise. I would definitely recommend The Tack Room Cottage to my friends and family. Simply, a wonderful place to relax or explore the beautiful surroundings, not to mention the three great pubs within walking distance of the property. Many thanks to the owners for making our stay so lovely. Thank you!
We booked The Tack Room for a New Year's Eve break for ourselves and some friends. The pictures looked lovely on the website but the property is even better in the flesh. The standard of finish is high with a gorgeous kitchen and very tasteful décor. All rooms are a decent size and the property was immaculate. It is also worth noting how accommodating and helpful the owner was who was on hand if we needed anything. Lovely people and a lovely property!
An excellent cottage in a lovely location, it was extremely well furnished & appointed. All fittings are great quality & the whole conversion has been well thought out & completed to a high standard. Really helpful owners live nearby, we were made very welcome. It was dog friendly, our Lab loved the walks which are literally on the doorstep!
The cottage was in an ideal location for us. Great care and attention to detail have gone into this cottage. It was very spacious and well equipped with high quality fittings.
The Tack Cottage is beautiful - couldn't have hoped for a better retreat.
Wonderful holiday cottage! Highly recommend it, and the delightful farm shop, delicious lunches after good local walks. Great location for walking and visiting several NT properties. Loved it.
A beautiful cottage, the fixtures and fittings were of high quality. I would highly recommend a stay here.
