A well-appointed, character terraced cottage in the centre of the popular village of Llanberis, on the edge of Snowdonia, with nearby walking access to Snowdon and the pretty lake of Llyn Padarn. Located on a residential side street, this charming cosy cottage is ideally situated for all the amenities of the village and will delight couples, friends and families wishing to explore the area. Homely and tastefully finished, it offers welcoming open plan living accommodation across the ground floor with a delightful sitting area with stone inglenook fireplace housing a traditional woodburner. The lovely oak flooring extends through to a bespoke kitchen area, which is well equipped, and a dining area, ideal for a leisurely breakfast before setting off for a day of walking and exploring. There are three cosy bedrooms, one on the second floor enjoying a glimpse of Snowdon from the skylights, along with a modern first floor family bathroom. Outside is an enclosed slate patio area to the rear, which enjoys a sunny aspect in the afternoon, ideal for a relaxed glass of wine before heading out for a meal in one of the many eating establishments a short walk away. With plenty of pretty walks leading from the doorstep, each embracing the fantastic surrounding scenery, there are lots of lovely things to see on foot. If you’re feeling a little less energetic then let the train take the strain and take the Snowdon Mountain Railway to the summit of this popular peak, with the platform a five minute walk away. There is so much to see and do within very easy reach, with the Llanberis Lake Railway, National Slate Museum and Electric Mountain area all within easy reach. A little further afield you can enjoy Zipworld Titan and Caverns, the longest 4-man zip wire in Europe, Bounce Below underground trampoline, along with the magnificent slate caverns at Llechwedd - all located at Blaenau Ffestiniog, which is a stunning drive away. The North Wales Coast, dotted with ancient castles, is also easily accessible from this delightful cottage, which is a great base for exploring both coast and country at any time of the year.

Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a ‘mecca’ for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit.

Reviews

We have had a lovely holiday despite very poor weather for August, and the cottage has proven to be an excellent base for our many activities. Highly recommend the local restaurant Y Gwynedd Inn, especially Thursday evening Steak night. The Heights is best avoided. The cottage is very nice, but it could be soooo much better. As per previous comments, it desperately needs a deep clean, especially under beds and sofas, on top of wardrobes, and the bathroom fan. We were forced to do a lot of cleaning ourselves when we arrived, including washing a set of dirty bedding with stains and hairs, which really isn’t acceptable especially in these COVID times and with the August rates of £2000+ that we paid for 10 nights. Even so our 4 legged friend often appeared covered in dust and dirt. Also previously mentioned in the guest book, the external doors are difficult to lock, and 2 of the bedroom doors do not close properly. Time spent on maintenance is much needed. I could spend considerable time writing an extensive list of maintenance suggestions.

The cottage was small but cosy and well situated for walking. We left behind a box of bike repair tools which had been accumulated over a number of years and thought that having them returned to us would be a simple process of contacting the owner and paying for delivery. Six months later after numerous phone calls, texts and emails to both the owner and to Sykes, we have still not had the items returned to us.

Stayed for a week while some of our party completed the Man vs Mountain event. Six adults and two Labradors. Had slight concerns that the cottage would be too small but it was absolutely comfortable with all of us, all of our gear, and the dogs (even with the tail end of a hurricane's worth of rain and wet weather gear.) Lazy-Boy couches were a welcome bonus for the tired runners! Perfect location for exploring all of north Wales and Anglesey. We loved it and would wholeheartedly recommend.

I stayed in the "Snowdon View" cottage with my girlfriend, our three-months old son and two friends and we all loved it! The house looked quite small from the outside, but we had more than enough space for the five of us. All the rooms were clean and cosy and the kitchen had everything we could have needed. The welcome package we found on the kitchen table was a really nice touch! For those of you traveling by car, we never had an issue finding a parking spot in one of the small streets surrounding the house.

We all thought the house was very charming, cosy and clean. It is also ideally located for exploring Snowdonia National Park.

Snowdon View is a fantastic holiday cottage, the owners have really put a lot of thought into their guests. The cottage is located in the heart of LLanberis with easy access to the lake, Snowdonia and shops. We will definitely be returning.

It was so, so nice to come back to such a lovely cosy cottage as our base. The log fire is spot on and the provision of games kept us particularly entertained! Thanks so much for providing us with the perfect home for our mini break, it really topped off the perfect holiday!!
