Just spent a week in this lovely property, it feels very homely and you can tell the owners have put a lot of thought into making you feel comfortable and welcome to enjoy it. There is everything you might need and it is an ideal location for visiting the attractions in the area. Will definitely be visiting this property again.
Another delightful vraek at Fairhaven. The time goes by too quickly. Excellent accommodation. Great location
Had a 1 week stay late July in Fairhaven Cottage, Ugthorpe. The cottage is excellent, the owner and neighbours very helpful. Used the cottage as a base. During our stay we visited Whitby, Ravenscar, Runswick Bay, Grosmont and Goathland. There is a pub next door to property and in surrounding area there are a number of excellent pubs offering the opportunity to dine if required. A thoroughly great holiday and top marks to Fairhaven Cottage.
Another weekend visit, this time as a base for the steampunk weekend at Whitby. Wild weather but cosy and comfortable inside. Always great to arrive but sad to depart.
Another visit to home from home. First time as a summer visit. Cottage as always so comfortable. The village is peaceful and relaxing ,and a good base for exploring. Extra bonus points for the Black Bull next door. Highly recommended.
Third time we have stayed , unfortunately just a short trip this time due to unforeseen circumstances. The cottage is lovely, all mod cons, nicely decorated , warm and comforting. It's a great base for exploring the area. And the pub next door is excellent. After a day out you return and sit in the glow of the fire content and relaxed. The picture is from Robin Hood's Bay.
The most cosiest cottage. Loved every minute. The beds were comfy, the stove is amazing. The lounge is welcoming. Everything you need to stay in or travel to the local bays for day and use as a base. We went to Whitby, Staithes, Runswick bay, robin hoods bay and Lealholm. Even visited the welcoming pub next door. Food was amazing. Our daughter loved it and so did our yorkiepoo. (Great fenced off area at the back)
Lovely cosy, well equipped cottage, handy for Whitby and the North York’s Moors. Had everything we needed, and the added bonus of a pub with food more or less next door. Despite this, the cottage was very quiet and peaceful. Owner Michael was very friendly and helpful a all times. We shall go back again in summer!
Arrived for short break at the tail end of the beast from the east. Thick show on the ground. Freezing fog. Lovely cottage, very cold, but by the end of the first night we were snug. Excellent layout and facilities. We had a meal in the pub, an arduous walk of thirty paces ! All too quickly tine was up. It makes a great base to explore the area, it's quiet and peaceful, with room out back in summer weather to have a drink or perhaps a BBQ. Happy to recommend.
The location is great, local pub friendly, pub food excellent. Near to all the places we wanted to visit and more, we have to come back to see more of the area and eat at the local pub again. The moors are have fantastic scenery and the train journey to Pickering is brilliant. Will definately be back soon.
Overall a perfect holiday destination, not that far from several of the beaches. Quite cottage, comfortable, everything you need for that perfect getaway. Unspoilt countryside, good for walkers or just hopping in the car.
Lovely cottage with excellent facilities in a beautiful location.Close to local pub serving good choice of food.Plenty of open space for dog walking plus lots of picturesque must see places Would definitely recommend this holiday cottage.
Fairhaven Cottage is a nicely furnished and well-equipped cottage in a peaceful location close to wonderful beaches, moorland and Whitby. Recommended.
Good geographic location with excellent eating facilities close by. Friendly and helpful neighbours. Peaceful and quiet good for sleeping. Secure, shared yard for our small dog. Would not hesitate to return to this abode which was very nice.
