4 adults and 1 14yr old stayed in August. When you open the front door you are greeted with a smell!! The kitchen is extremely small as is the fridge freezer. The oven has trays in it that are not clean and the oven smells. The fridge hadn't been cleaned and the extractor over the hob was thick with grease. Lounge good size with attached conservatory. Main bedroom has a dreadful smell which I think is down to the bed, which has a foam topper which needs washing. Bed very uncomfortable and needs replacing. The twin room was OK but the bunk bed room is far too small. Bathroom: WHY would anyone put taps were you have to get into bath/showe? Hot water on a timer and not hot at 8am. The.bannister rail was very sticky when we arrived. To walk into Saundersfoot is down a very steep hill, the same coming back. You need to take your car. Only parking for 1 car. Wouldn't book again. Needs a thorough clean. 1 very important issue, when there are 5 of you you need a 2nd toilet.
We booked this property over 12 months ago. We wanted to revisit the area again having holidayed here 25 years ago. Great walks down into the centre of Saundersfoot with the dog, but a bit of a pull & climb on the way back, with an agedly pooch in tow. Also a good base for Tenby, Pendine, Pembroke & St Davids. St Davids (smallest city in the UK), was the highlight. The property was lovely, with a sunny positioned sun lounge, where the dog could roam unhindered. We did have an problem initially with the shower, but after talking to the owners Paul & Teresa, this was sorted out. We would return!
We stayed at driftwood house for a week in February. Teresa sent all the information on how to collect the key from the key safe etc prior to our visit. The house is very well finished and clean and tidy inside. There is a dolce gusto coffee machine and pods as well as a pint of milk and some welsh cakes for that all important cuppa before you unpack. Thankfully there was tea towels supplied as we forgot ours! All the linens are clean and fresh and there are plenty of towels for all guests. Having a washing machine was a God send and we used it quite a few times during the week. The fridge freezer was a bit small but we managed and the kitchen has everything you need and more. We were happy that there was plenty of plates, cups and glasses as we've stayed in places where there are literally a plate / bowl / cup per person! The dishwasher was a Godsend and so was the slow cooker, it meant we could enjoy our time out and about exploring. There is a blue folder that has all information about things to do, recycling info, info for local places to visit, takeaway and restaurant / cafe menus and a copy of the info sent by email. The house is perfectly situated 1 mile from saundersfoot, it's literally down over the hill. There are some lovely shops, cafes, etc and a fantastic reptile experience place that we all loved. There's a coastal path that you can walk over to Wisemans bridge inn for a stroll and a pint, it's a about a mile each way. Tenby is about 2-3miles away and is beautiful. We saw buses running so you could always catch the bus if you wanted a break from driving. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our boys were gutted we had to leave. We will definitely be back!
I liked how near the house was to the centre of Saundersfoot and that we could leave the car. Also that we could walk from the door to the coastal path and found lovely walks in both directions. The beaches were spotlessly clean as was the whole area in general. We loved the house, it was the perfect place to stay and we would not hesitate in booking again.
