Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.
The bunked mattresses were stained and had to buy quilts etc as stained and stank marks on walls and furniture boiler broken had to clean some areas and outside needs cleaning and maintenance views beautiful
We booked last minute and we were definitely not disappointed. Wow !! the views are spectacular overlooking the harbour. River crest is very clean and comfortable. The layout is light and spacious with all the amenities of home from home. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
As a family of 4 with a 4 and 6 year old, we've just spent a week at Rivercrest and it was an amazing holiday. There are many positives and a few small negatives to this property but they are not bad enough to lose review stars for. Positives: Amazing location to the town, beach, pubs, restaurants etc. Modern apartment. Wi-fi was good enough to stream Netflix over the smart TV (but struggled once our phones were connected). The apartment is well equiped and very comfortable. The view is stunning, day and night and sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine in the evening was very relaxing. The back door leads to an outside covered area which was great for leaving sand buckets and wet clothing before entering the property. It would be great for surfers and fishing trips. Negatives: Parking is very awkward. Just an hour to unload and load and that's if no one else has parked there. There's a roof top parking area chained off next to Rivercrests gate that could be used for customers during high seasons? We paid £45 for a weeks parking on a large car park at the bottom of the hill (about 5-10 minutes walk). If you are planning a lot of day trips in the car it may be too much. The daily walk up to the apartment might put people off. It is a very steep walk that is a bit round the houses due to no main road access, but it didnt really bother us too much because Looe is very hilly anyway. Overall if you are looking for a well positioned apartment that has stunning views then this apartment is great. We will be staying there again.
We love Looe so much to do, beautiful walks, nice pubs and restaurants and plenty of cafés. Favourite place is Daisy's cafe fantastic breakfast, or just pop in for a coffee and a piece of cake. Best restaurant for us is the smugglers cote food is excellent. The apartment is open plan nice and clean and state of the art appliances, including a dishwasher and washing machine, the little touches of tea, milk and biscuits was a nice touch. We walked from looe to polperro which was about 5 miles a lovely walk visited varies shops once there also got the boat back which was something different, another day we walked the coastline to Merendreath beach this was about 2 miles we visited the black rock cafe I would recommend a visit there nice coffee and cake, all in all a lovely week of pure indulgence we had the perfect week and yes we would love to stay in the apartment again and I'm sure we will be back xxx
Clean and well equipped although the lack of WIFI is a bit of a problem in this day and age. Looe by its very nature is hilly so lots of exercise to work off the extra calories from all the good food to be had in the local eateries. Parking is very limited at the property (1 hour) the local car park in Mill Pool is £38 (ish) for the week and only a short, but up hill walk from the chalet. The view from the balcony is fantastic and all in all the place is wonderful. We hope to book again in the future.
No parking by the bungalow at all, from 1st May to 30th September this is a double yellow no parking zone. Access is, as described, down very steep shallow steps, and only accessible from the back road, nothing from the main riverside road and you need to walk up a relatively steep hill to get to North Road where the entrance is located. Lovely bungalow and very modern but no Wi-Fi which is vital when trying to research places to visit, opening times and costs etc. No bedroom curtains to shut out the early dawn. Brilliant views over the harbour and the bungalow is well equipped. Would we stay there again, possibly not as husband has chronic asthma and this made for difficulties when going out and about on foot.
A modern, clean, comfortable property with all of Looe to explore close by.
We were blown away with Rivercrest, it was stunning and the views were spectacular. It just made for a perfect holiday, we were so glad we chose to go with Sykes.
Rivercrest was an immaculately clean apartment. The location was excellent and the views stunning, I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again 100%. A big thank you to the caretakers for keeping the place to the standard it was.
Lovely accommodation in a perfect location with beautiful views. The beds were very comfortable and the main bedroom looked like a hotel room. It was very well equipped. We all had a wonderful holiday.
